A useful fit for

A wired team producing color reports within 1,500–9,200 recommended monthly pages that wants automatic back sides.

The main tradeoff

Wi-Fi is optional, the 650-sheet input includes a multipurpose feeder, and color supplies require several separate condition checks.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can Ethernet combine Legal color duplex, 650 included sheets and PIN release at 8,000 monthly pages?

Yes with compatible printing software and suitable ordinary paper. Legal duplex is established; 650 sheets combine the 550-sheet drawer and 100-sheet feeder with matching settings and MP Cassette linking. The recommended ceiling is 9,200 pages/month.

Does the supplied C734dn connect to the office by its own Wi-Fi radio?

No included Wi-Fi arrangement is established. Standard computer routes are USB and Ethernet; wireless hardware is optional on this exact dn configuration.

Automatic back sides for wired color reports

The Lexmark C734dn is a color laser printer with included Ethernet, USB and an integrated automatic-duplex unit. US part 25C0351 fits a wired team producing reports, forms or correspondence within the maker's 1,500–9,200 recommended monthly pages. It declares up to 30 one-sided Letter pages per minute in either black or color.

This exact dn supplies duplex hardware that the C734n lacks. It does not include the C734dw's wireless radio, and none of those suffixes turns this print-only device into a scanner, copier or fax. The tilting four-line grayscale panel provides settings and status rather than document capture.

Keep paper size, type and duplex together

The original tables support Letter, Legal and A4 in both ordinary input paths and the duplex unit. Automatic duplex uses a narrower paper-weight range of 60–120 gsm than the engine's general media range. Do not assume that a thick stock accepted for one-sided output is also suitable for turning automatically.

Select the correct size and type in the panel and compatible computer software, then choose one-sided or two-sided output and the appropriate binding direction. Preprinted letterhead uses different loading orientations for simplex and duplex. Check a short example before committing a longer report or valuable stock.

Suitable envelopes are separate one-sided jobs through the multipurpose feeder. Use the correct size and Envelope type and follow the flap and leading-edge orientation. Envelopes, card stock, labels and transparencies do not inherit ordinary-paper duplex support merely because they appear in a general media list.

Understand what 650 included sheets means

The standard input combines a 550-sheet drawer and 100-sheet multipurpose feeder at the 20-pound or 75-gsm ordinary-paper basis. Letter, Legal and A4 fit both. For linked continuous feeding, load matching stock and settings and put the multipurpose feeder in Cassette mode.

That feeder is an open, extended source. When it carries envelopes or another special stock, it replaces its ordinary-paper load and needs its own settings. The supplied output bin's 300-sheet figure is separate, so a full input load may require output collection. Optional drawers and the 3,750-sheet input maximum are additional hardware.

The exact specification lists 18.5 inches of closed-body depth and 20.7 inches with trays extended. Leave further room for loading, covers, ventilation and supply replacement. A body measurement alone does not describe the working footprint.

Use the wired route and confidential release properly

USB Type-B connects a computer; Ethernet provides the included network path. Print a network setup page, confirm Connected status and use the correct IP address and driver. Wireless, gigabit, parallel and serial interfaces remain options. The front Type-A socket supports documented flash-drive and PictBridge camera output, with different setup requirements from a computer queue.

Compatible Windows Print and Hold or Macintosh Job Routing software can submit a confidential job with a user name and four-digit PIN. Select the held job and enter the PIN at the printer keypad. Jobs use memory and can be deleted under memory pressure; optional-disk encryption has separate hardware conditions.

Check current software compatibility and important files rather than relying on historical lists. AirPrint and Mopria are unestablished here. The Black Only and Max Speed/Max Yield controls also have different purposes; content-driven color switching can affect output rate. The separate black Letter duplex declaration is 20 sides per minute, not a color duplex or whole-job timing.

Inspect more than the toner level

The exact US supplied Return Program toner declares 4,000 black and 4,000 composite CMY pages. Replacement declarations are 8,000 black and 6,000 CMY under ISO/IEC 19798 on the maker's continuous-print basis. Check each cartridge, its compatible region and program conditions.

Photoconductors, the waste toner container, fuser and transfer module are separate components. Inspect their status and the correct fuser voltage as well as toner. The 85,000-page maximum monthly duty figure does not replace the recommended 9,200-page ceiling. Lexmark marks this 56.7-pound model discontinued; check its electrical label, cord, software and condition. Compare a documented wireless or multifunction model if those capabilities would simplify the station.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Maker maximum 30 one-sided Letter pages per minute for black or color. Black automatic Letter duplex is separately 20 sides per minute; a color duplex rate is unestablished. Media and color-mode switching can reduce output rate.

Paper handling

Included 550-sheet drawer plus 100-sheet multipurpose feeder total 650 ordinary sheets at 20 lb/75 gsm. Letter, Legal and A4 fit both and automatic duplex; duplex paper range is 60–120 gsm. Use matching stock/settings and MP Cassette mode for linking. Suitable envelopes replace MP ordinary paper for separate one-sided jobs. Maximum 3,750 needs optional trays; output is separately 300 sheets.

Scanning arrangement

Color laser print-only hardware has no scanner, document-capture feeder, copying or fax. Its adjustable four-line control display is grayscale; the front USB/PictBridge socket is for supported output files or camera printing.

Computer and mobile connections

Included USB Type-B computer port and 10/100 Ethernet. Front Type-A handles supported flash-drive/PictBridge camera output. Wireless, gigabit, parallel and serial options are separate hardware; the family wireless setup chapter does not make a radio standard.

Supplies and declared yields

Exact US supplied Return Program toner declares 4,000 black and 4,000 composite CMY pages; replacements declare 8,000 black and 6,000 CMY under ISO/IEC 19798 on the maker’s continuous-print basis. Separate C734X20G/C734X24G photoconductors, C734X77G waste container, fuser and transfer module require their own condition checks.

Software and support

Compatible Windows Print and Hold or Mac Job Routing can submit a confidential job with a four-digit PIN, then release it using Held Jobs and the keypad. Memory pressure can delete held jobs; optional-disk encryption is a separate feature. Black Only mode and Max Speed/Max Yield settings have different purposes. Current OS, AirPrint and Mopria support are unestablished.

Electrical edition and setup

Check actual electrical label, proper cord and offered condition; nominal mains input is unestablished. Closed-body depth is 18.5 inches, while the exact extended-tray depth is 20.7 inches, before additional working clearance. Optional high-capacity trays need appropriate stability arrangements.
