A useful fit for

A team using compatible computers on its Wi-Fi network, producing color documents within 1,500–9,200 recommended monthly pages.

The main tradeoff

The older Wi-Fi setup needs compatible network security and software; built-in wireless does not establish AirPrint or Wi-Fi Direct.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can Wi-Fi combine color A4 duplex, PIN release and 650 included sheets at 8,000 monthly pages?

Yes with compatible software on the configured network. Load matching A4 stock in the 550-sheet drawer and 100-sheet MP feeder, using Cassette mode for linking. The recommended maximum is 9,200 pages/month; PIN release uses the documented computer-driver routine.

Can Ethernet instead provide Legal duplex and separate envelope printing?

Yes with compatible computer printing software. Legal automatic duplex is established; suitable envelopes use a separate one-sided MP routine with their own stock and settings.

Does its built-in Wi-Fi establish Apple AirPrint printing?

No complete AirPrint arrangement is established by the reviewed exact sources. A Wi-Fi network interface and historical computer setup do not by themselves prove that mobile protocol.

Color printing on the office Wi-Fi network

The Lexmark C734dw combines a built-in 802.11b/g/n radio with Ethernet, USB and an internal automatic-duplex unit. US part 25C0353 suits a team using compatible computers on its configured network, with a recommended monthly range of 1,500–9,200 pages. It declares up to 30 one-sided Letter pages per minute in black or color.

The included radio distinguishes this model from the C734dn's optional wireless arrangement. It still needs compatible network security, software and configuration. Wi-Fi does not establish AirPrint, Mopria or Wi-Fi Direct, and this print-only color laser has no scanner, copier or fax.

Prepare the network before relying on wireless printing

The original setup instructions require the intended network name and matching security information. For infrastructure operation, the printer joins the wireless router's network. The Windows installation temporarily uses a USB cable when prompted, then instructs the user to disconnect it after configuration so printing can proceed wirelessly.

The Macintosh instructions likewise configure the network and then install the appropriate printer description and queue. These are historical computer workflows, not a promise of present operating-system support. Verify the actual router settings, driver and important application files before depending on an earlier wireless printer. A generic ad hoc option is also different from a positively established Wi-Fi Direct implementation.

Ethernet and USB Type-B remain alternative computer routes. For wired setup, confirm Connected status and the IP address on the network page. The front Type-A socket serves supported flash-drive or PictBridge camera output, with different requirements from a computer connection.

Make the paper arrangement match the work

The included 650-sheet capacity consists of a 550-sheet drawer and 100-sheet multipurpose feeder at the 20-pound or 75-gsm ordinary-paper basis. Letter, Legal and A4 fit both sources. To use them as linked ordinary input, load matching stock and size/type settings and set the multipurpose feeder to Cassette mode.

If the feeder instead carries envelopes or a different stock, give it the appropriate settings and treat that as a separate job. Envelopes replace the ordinary feeder load, use the instructed flap and leading-edge orientation, and remain one-sided. Additional drawers and the 3,750-sheet input maximum need optional hardware. The 300-sheet output bin may need collecting before a full input load is finished.

The closed-body depth is 18.5 inches; the exact extended-tray figure is 20.7 inches before extra working clearance. Leave space for the feeder, paper access, covers and supply replacement rather than planning around the closed dimensions alone.

Use duplex and confidential release through compatible software

Letter, Legal and A4 automatic duplex are established for ordinary paper. The duplex path's 60–120-gsm range is narrower than the engine's general media range. Select the correct type, size and binding direction, and check preprinted letterhead orientation before a larger report. Special-media acceptance does not automatically imply two-sided support.

The separate black Letter duplex declaration is 20 sides per minute. A color duplex rate is not established here. The guide also distinguishes Black Only from Max Speed and Max Yield; content-driven switching between color and black modes can affect output rate.

Compatible Windows Print and Hold or Macintosh Job Routing software can submit a confidential job with a four-digit PIN. Release it from Held Jobs at the panel keypad. These jobs occupy printer memory and may be deleted under memory pressure. Optional-disk encryption is a separate feature. The tilting four-line panel itself is grayscale, regardless of color printing capability.

Check all supplies and the recurring workload

The original US supplied Return Program toner declares 4,000 black and 4,000 composite CMY pages. Replacements declare 8,000 black and 6,000 CMY under ISO/IEC 19798 on the maker's continuous-print basis. Check exact supply compatibility, region and program conditions, plus the separate photoconductors, waste container, fuser and transfer module.

The 85,000-page maximum monthly duty figure does not replace the recommended 9,200-page ceiling. Lexmark marks this 56.7-pound model discontinued. Inspect its electrical label, proper cord, software and physical condition. A documented mobile-compatible or multifunction model is a useful comparison when phone printing or paper capture is essential to the daily routine.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Maker maximum 30 one-sided Letter pages per minute in black or color, separately 20 black Letter sides per minute for automatic duplex. A color duplex rate is unestablished; specialty media and color-mode switching can reduce output rate.

Paper handling

Included 550-sheet drawer plus 100-sheet multipurpose feeder total 650 ordinary sheets at 20 lb/75 gsm. Letter, Legal and A4 fit both and automatic duplex, whose paper-weight range is 60–120 gsm. Use matching stock/settings and MP Cassette mode for linking. Envelopes replace the MP load for separate one-sided jobs. Maximum 3,750 needs optional trays; output is separately 300 sheets.

Scanning arrangement

Color laser print-only hardware has no scanner, document-capture feeder, copying or fax. Its adjustable four-line control display is grayscale; the front USB/PictBridge socket is for supported output files or camera printing.

Computer and mobile connections

Included 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi network radio, 10/100 Ethernet and USB Type-B computer interface. The documented Wi-Fi arrangement joins the intended network with compatible security and software; temporary USB setup is not the lasting print route. Front Type-A/PictBridge supports documented host output. Wi-Fi Direct and mobile protocols are unestablished.

Supplies and declared yields

Exact US supplied Return Program toner declares 4,000 black and 4,000 composite CMY pages; replacements declare 8,000 black and 6,000 CMY under ISO/IEC 19798 on the maker’s continuous-print basis. Separate C734X20G/C734X24G photoconductors, C734X77G waste container, fuser and transfer module require their own condition checks.

Software and support

Compatible Windows Print and Hold or Mac Job Routing can submit a confidential job with a four-digit PIN, then release it using Held Jobs and the keypad. Memory pressure can delete held jobs; optional-disk encryption is a separate feature. Black Only mode and Max Speed/Max Yield settings have different purposes. Current OS, AirPrint and Mopria support are unestablished.

Electrical edition and setup

Check actual electrical label, proper cord and offered condition; nominal mains input is unestablished. Closed-body depth is 18.5 inches, while the exact extended-tray depth is 20.7 inches, before additional working clearance. Optional high-capacity trays need appropriate stability arrangements.
