A useful fit for

A 1,500–7,000-page monthly color workgroup using a 250-sheet main drawer and compatible-driver confidential print release.

The main tradeoff

The base has 250+1 input; the larger duo assembly, final drawer and Wi-Fi require separate optional hardware.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can I print color A4 duplex over Ethernet with PIN release at 6,000 monthly pages and 250 included A4 sheets?

Yes with earlier references enabled, compatible Print and Hold software and the documented panel release. The size, included duplex path, drawer and recommended volume fit that arrangement.

Does the CS510de include 900 normal input sheets like a CS510dte package?

No. This exact de package has a 250-sheet drawer and one-sheet manual feed. The duo assembly is optional here.

Can I scan documents with the touchscreen?

No. The screen controls print-only color hardware; the device has no document scanner.

A touchscreen for shared color printing

The Lexmark CS510de is an earlier print-only color laser with a 4.3-inch touchscreen and included automatic duplex. The exact US reference is part 28E0050. Its touchscreen and gigabit Ethernet distinguish its operating experience from simpler related models, but the base paper arrangement still starts with one ordinary 250-sheet drawer.

Lexmark marks this model discontinued. Treat its original configuration as a reference to verify against a real machine, including region, installed equipment and software. A later sales listing may bundle extra paper hardware, but the de suffix alone does not promise the larger dte package. This analysis does not establish current availability, a unit's condition or measured output quality.

Color, duplex and workload stay separate

Manufacturer maximum one-sided Letter output is 32 pages per minute for black or color. Automatic two-sided output is separately 15 Letter sides per minute. The duplex rate should be used as its own mode declaration; it is not the same as the one-sided figure. Actual job completion also depends on the document, application processing and the number of small submissions in the queue.

The recommended monthly range is 1,500–7,000 printed pages. Maximum duty is separately 85,000 pages, rather than a suggested ordinary monthly workload. An office regularly exceeding the recommendation should not assume that a larger drawer or faster network port changes it. The guide's printing and media settings also deserve checking when mixing ordinary documents, special stock and black-only output.

What the standard paper package provides

Included input is 250+1 sheets on the stated 20-pound or 75-gsm basis: a 250-sheet main drawer plus a single-sheet manual feeder. The plus-one source is useful for occasional suitable special media, but does not create a second normal paper stack. Letter, Legal and A4 have positive support in the main drawer and automatic duplex path.

Load longer sheets using the correct guide extension and set the actual paper size and type. Suitable envelopes have a separate one-sided manual-feed routine. Ordinary-paper duplex support should not be extended to envelopes or every specialty stock. The original guide recommends trying the intended special media before committing to a large supply; this article does not claim to have performed that trial.

Maximum input of 1,450+1 sheets requires optional equipment: the duo assembly combines a 550-sheet drawer and 100-sheet multipurpose feeder, and another 550-sheet drawer supplies the final expansion. Confirm the supported stand or base, actual accessories and driver settings for a multiple-input installation. The 125-sheet output bin remains a separate limit.

Protect jobs through the documented submission path

The guide documents compatible Print and Hold submission with a computer-set four-digit PIN and release through Held Jobs at the touchscreen. Ordinary protected jobs can use memory; the optional hard disk is separate. That does not guarantee that every application or mobile print button creates an equivalent confidential job. Check the intended driver and submission workflow before making protected release essential to the purchase.

USB Type-B is the computer connection, while the front and rear Type-A interfaces have separate supported roles. The guide distinguishes a rear keyboard connection and optional wireless interface. Gigabit Ethernet is included, but Wi-Fi requires optional MarkNet hardware. AirPrint and Mopria are documented for suitable shared networking and compatible devices, without turning a USB-only computer cable into a mobile network arrangement.

Supplies and the actual installation

The US supplied toner is declared at 6,000 black pages and 4,000 for each color. Specific extra-high replacements include 70C1XK0 black at 8,000 pages and 70C1XC0, 70C1XM0 and 70C1XY0 colors at 4,000 each. Regular alternatives have their own identifiers. ISO/IEC 19798 yields, geographical restrictions and Return Program conditions should be read together; they do not establish present cost per page. Imaging and developer components are separate maintenance items.

The color touchscreen does not add scanning, copying or fax: this remains print-only hardware. Its body is 17.4 inches wide, 16.0 deep and 12.1 high at 46.1 pounds. Allow loading and service access, inspect the actual electrical label and cord, and choose the de arrangement when its included duplex, wired sharing and ordinary main stack fit the workgroup.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Manufacturer maximum 32 one-sided Letter pages/minute in black or color; automatic print duplex separately 15 Letter sides/minute for each. These are declared modes, not article test results.

Paper handling

Included 250-sheet main drawer plus a one-sheet manual feeder: 250+1 headline sheets at 20 lb/75 gsm, with a 250-sheet ordinary main stack. Letter/Legal/A4 support the drawer. Suitable envelopes use the separate one-sided manual-feed routine. Optional input is not included. Integrated duplex supports Letter, Legal and A4. An optional 650-sheet duo assembly and additional 550-sheet drawer can raise maximum input to 1,450+1; neither is included in this de package.

Scanning arrangement

Explicitly print-only color laser hardware. No paper scanner, document feeder, copier or fax. A control screen and generic print/scan software names do not supply capture hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Included USB Type-B computer connection, gigabit Ethernet and front/rear Type-A interfaces for their separate supported purposes. The guide identifies the rear keyboard and optional-wireless connections. MarkNet Wi-Fi is optional, not standard; no included Wi-Fi Direct arrangement is established. Suitable shared-network AirPrint/Mopria remains distinct from USB-only computer printing.

Supplies and declared yields

US supplied toner is declared at 6,000 black pages and 4,000 for each color. US replacements include 70C1XK0 black at 8,000 pages and 70C1XC0/70C1XM0/70C1XY0 cyan/magenta/yellow at 4,000 each. Regular counterparts are 70C0X10 black and 70C0X20/30/40 colors. Declared yields follow ISO/IEC 19798 and vary in use. Check region and Return Program terms. Separate imaging/developer estimates do not guarantee maintenance intervals or establish current running cost.

Software and support

Compatible Print and Hold submission supports a computer-set four-digit PIN and release through Held Jobs at the printer. Ordinary protected jobs use memory; an optional disk is not required for that routine. Check current driver/application support; generic mobile submission need not create the same protected job.

Electrical edition and setup

Earlier US reference; verify actual regional part, included hardware and current software. Nominal mains input is unestablished, so inspect the actual electrical label and proper cord. Body dimensions exclude loading/service access and extended paper guides.
