Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the dte package duplex color Legal jobs over Ethernet with PIN release, 900 included normal sheets and 6,000 monthly pages?
Yes with earlier references enabled and compatible protected-job software. The exact US package includes those paper sources and duplex support within its monthly recommendation.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it provide 1,400 included A4 sheets because the maximum is 1,450+1?
No. The standard normal input is 900 sheets plus one manual sheet; reaching the maximum requires the separately optional final drawer.
Explore this need in the finder →Will the included package fit a space allowing a body no taller than 15 inches?
No. The dte body is specified at 17.2 inches high before additional working clearance; the smaller base de height is not substituted.

The Lexmark CS510dte combines the CS510 color-printing platform with a duo input assembly supplied as part of the package. Its exact US part is 28E0100. The practical attraction is not an increased engine-speed claim, but having a main drawer, another larger drawer and a multipurpose feeder available without treating those sources as later additions.
Lexmark marks the model discontinued. Check the actual offered machine and included equipment against the original package. The in-box list names the CS510de printer engine and separately states that the duo assembly is included; that does not make a bare de machine equivalent to dte. Region, software availability and current machine condition still need checking.
What the 900+1 input headline means
Normal stack-fed input totals 900 sheets: 250 in the main drawer, 550 in the duo drawer and 100 in its integrated multipurpose feeder. A separate one-sheet manual feeder accounts for the plus-one headline. These capacities use the manufacturer's stated 20-pound or 75-gsm paper basis. Letter, Legal and A4 have positive support in the three normal sources and in automatic duplex.
That arrangement can keep different supported stock available, provided the guides and size/type settings match the load. The manual explains that matching trays can link, while different paper types require appropriate settings to remain distinct. Suitable envelopes have their own one-sided manual or multipurpose routine; the duplex capability for ordinary paper should not be extended to envelopes.
The final 550-sheet lower drawer is optional and takes maximum input to 1,450+1. It is not already included simply because the duo assembly is. Check the complete physical stack, appropriate stand or base and installed-options settings before planning expanded input. The 125-sheet output bin is a separate capacity rather than additional input storage.
Speed and workload do not increase with more trays
Maximum one-sided Letter output is declared at 32 pages per minute for black or color. Automatic two-sided output is separately 15 Letter sides per minute. These are manufacturer mode ratings, not measurements from this article. More input can change the timing of reloads, but it does not turn a duplex document into a simplex-speed job or guarantee the completion time of complex submissions.
The ordinary monthly recommendation is 1,500–7,000 pages, distinct from the 85,000-page maximum duty figure. Choose that workload range deliberately. If a workgroup routinely needs more than 7,000 printed pages, the presence of several drawers does not by itself resolve the recommendation mismatch. Color output, black-only job settings and a color control screen also remain different concepts.
A touchscreen, wired sharing and confidential release
The 4.3-inch e-Task touchscreen provides the control interface. The printer includes gigabit Ethernet and USB Type-B for a computer, with Type-A interfaces serving their separately documented purposes. Wireless remains optional MarkNet hardware. AirPrint and Mopria are documented on a suitable shared network with compatible devices; a USB cable to one computer does not itself provide that arrangement.
Compatible Print and Hold submission supports a computer-set four-digit PIN, followed by release through Held Jobs at the printer. Ordinary protected jobs use memory, without an optional hard disk being required for that routine. Check the actual driver and application before relying on confidential release, because generic mobile submission need not create the same protected job.
Consumables and the larger physical package
The US supplied toner is declared at 6,000 black pages and 4,000 for each color. Extra-high US replacements include 70C1XK0 black at 8,000 pages and 70C1XC0, 70C1XM0 and 70C1XY0 colors at 4,000 each. Their ISO/IEC 19798 declarations, regional compatibility and Return Program conditions need to be read together. Imaging and developer components are separate, and no present cost per page or guaranteed service interval follows from a yield alone.
This is print-only hardware without scanning, copying or fax. The included-configuration body is 17.4 inches wide, 16.4 deep and 17.2 high at 55.3 pounds. Do not substitute the smaller base de dimensions when judging a shelf or work area. Allow operating access, inspect the electrical label and correct cord, and verify the actual duo assembly when its included capacity is central to the choice.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Declared maximum 32 one-sided Letter pages/minute in black or color; automatic print duplex separately 15 Letter sides/minute. Maker mode ratings are not measured results from this article.
Paper handling
Included 250-sheet main drawer, 550-sheet duo drawer and integrated 100-sheet MPF provide 900 normal stack-fed sheets, plus a one-sheet manual feeder for the 900+1 headline at 20 lb/75 gsm. Letter/Legal/A4 support all three normal sources and automatic duplex. Envelopes use separate one-sided manual/MPF routines. The final 550-sheet drawer is optional and raises maximum to 1,450+1.
Scanning arrangement
Explicitly print-only color laser hardware. No paper scanner, document feeder, copier or fax. A control screen and generic print/scan software names do not supply capture hardware.
Computer and mobile connections
Included USB Type-B computer interface, gigabit Ethernet and front/rear Type-A interfaces with their separately documented uses. Wireless requires optional MarkNet hardware. Suitable shared-network AirPrint/Mopria is a distinct arrangement from USB-only computer printing; no included Wi-Fi Direct plan is established.
Supplies and declared yields
US supplied black toner is declared at 6,000 pages and each color at 4,000. US replacements include 70C1XK0 black at 8,000 pages and 70C1XC0/70C1XM0/70C1XY0 cyan/magenta/yellow at 4,000 each. Regular counterparts are 70C0X10 black and 70C0X20/30/40 colors. Declared yields follow ISO/IEC 19798 and vary in use. Check region and Return Program terms. Separate imaging/developer estimates do not guarantee maintenance intervals or establish current running cost.
Software and support
Compatible Print and Hold submission supports a computer-set four-digit PIN and release through Held Jobs at the printer. Ordinary protected jobs use memory; an optional disk is not required for that routine. Check current driver/application support; generic mobile submission need not create the same protected job.
Electrical edition and setup
Earlier US reference; verify actual regional part, included hardware and current software. Nominal mains input is unestablished, so inspect the actual electrical label and proper cord. Body dimensions exclude loading/service access and extended paper guides.
