The Lexmark CX622ade is an earlier office MFP reference whose strongest configuration distinction is a 100-sheet single-pass duplex feeder. It can capture both sides of compatible originals without the reversing routine used by nearby models. Lexmark explicitly identifies it as an FCC Class A device not intended for residential or domestic environments, so check the intended setting before considering its physical size.
This article covers discontinued US part 42C7380. It describes original documented functions rather than current stock, coverage or a particular machine's condition. Verify regional supplies, accessories, software and the actual unit. Included connectivity is wired Ethernet and USB; wireless and additional paper drawers require separate hardware checks.
Separate scan-side throughput from print speed
For Letter originals, Lexmark declares single-pass duplex scanning at up to 100 black or 64 color sides per minute. The separate simplex figures are 50 black and 32 color sides per minute. A4 uses different numbers, including 94 black and 60 color duplex sides per minute. Do not turn the fastest black duplex figure into a color rate, a sheet rate or a printer speed.
The original service manual positively supports Letter, Legal and A4 in the feeder and explicitly excludes Legal, Oficio and Folio from the scanner glass. Use the glass for supported Letter or A4 items and suitable originals that should not feed. A Legal-sized packet can fit the feeder while a single Legal sheet still fails a requirement to lie on the glass.
The print engine is rated at up to 40 one-sided Letter pages per minute in black or color; automatic print duplex is separately 20 Letter sides per minute. These are manufacturer declarations, not measured results here. The panel is a 4.3-inch color touchscreen, distinct from both the color print engine and the physical scanning mechanism.
Scanner capacity does not increase printer input
The 100-sheet feeder holds originals for scanning, copying or faxing. Printing still uses the included 250-sheet main tray and one-sheet manual feeder, quoted as 250+1 at 20-pound or 75-gsm paper weight. Letter, Legal and A4 are positively supported in the main tray and automatic two-sided print path. Envelopes require their own one-sided loading and media settings.
An optional 650-sheet duo assembly and a further 550-sheet drawer increase maximum printing input to 1450+1. The duo comprises a 550-sheet drawer and a 100-sheet multipurpose feeder; none of this is extra supplied base input. Lexmark recommends 1,500–10,000 printed pages monthly. Keep that everyday planning range distinct from the 100,000-page maximum duty ceiling and allow for the real frequency of refilling a 250-sheet stack.
Connect computers and configure destinations
The exact US specification positively names USB-connected and network-connected computers as scanning destinations. The Type-B cable and Ethernet therefore have documented computer routines, while a flash drive at a Type-A port is a different destination. Network ScanBack needs suitable firmware, a common network and a configured scan profile; confirm current Windows or Mac software for the intended workflow.
AirPrint and Mopria use suitable shared networking, with a mobile device potentially on office Wi-Fi while the printer uses Ethernet. That is not proof of an included wireless card: MarkNet N8372 is optional. Compatible confidential printing submits a protected job for PIN release at the panel. Verify the application's actual submission controls.
Analog fax requires the supported active phone-line connection and setup. Cloud fax subscriptions or FoIP licenses are separate arrangements. Likewise, the optional disk and OCR conditions attached to searchable or highly compressed PDF formats should not be converted into a promise that every base machine supplies those features.
Supplies and the complete office fit
Supplied toner is declared at 3,000 black pages and 2,000 pages for each color under ISO/IEC 19798. Exact US ultra-high replacements include 78C1UK0 black at 10,500 pages and 78C1UC0, 78C1UM0 and 78C1UY0 colors at 7,000 each. Match region and Return Program conditions, with imaging, developer and waste components separate from toner.
The body is 17.4 inches wide, 23.1 deep and 18.2 high at 60 pounds, before access clearance. Check the actual electrical label and cord. Choose this configuration when office placement and single-pass capture matter; compare the supplied wireless and tray package separately instead of assuming scan capacity solves printing capacity.
