Lexmark E350d: local duplex printing with a text panel review

A local monochrome printer with clearer status messages

The Lexmark E350d is a desktop monochrome laser printer with automatic duplex and a two-line text display. US part 33S0400 supplies USB Type-B and parallel computer interfaces. It suits a computer-based printing routine within the maker's recommended 740–5,700-page monthly range, especially when local text messages are more useful than interpreting a basic light panel.

The key configuration limit is connectivity. The E350d does not include the Ethernet interface supplied in the related E352dn package. External network or wireless print servers are optional equipment. It also has no scanner, copier or fax: this printer turns digital files into black-and-white pages, rather than capturing paper originals.

Check the job and driver together

The exact US page declares up to 35 one-sided Letter pages per minute, compared with 33 on A4. Automatic Letter duplex is separately listed at up to 16 sides per minute. These modes should remain distinct when considering a two-sided report; the headline simplex figure is not a promise about complete duplex job time.

In compatible computer software, choose the source, paper size, media type and two-sided setting for the actual document. The driver can override saved panel defaults, so a queue carried over from another printer deserves inspection. Print a short representative file to check orientation, application output and the required features before relying on the setup.

Automatic Letter duplex is positively established in this assessment. The exact A4 and Legal duplex-size limits remain unestablished, even though both sizes are printable. Confirm a size-specific two-sided routine before purchasing for that requirement. Envelopes and other specialty media have separate handling instructions.

A drawer for the stack, a slot for exceptions

The base printer supplies a 250-sheet drawer and a separate one-sheet manual feed. Letter, Legal and A4 each fit the ordinary drawer stack at the maker's 20-pound or 75-gsm basis. Extend the drawer for Legal or Folio paper, adjust the guides and provide clearance at the rear for the extension and dust cover.

Use the manual slot when a single different sheet or suitable envelope is needed without disturbing the main load. Choose the correct size and media type, place the item as instructed and let the feed mechanism engage without forcing it. Envelope printing is a one-sided routine, one envelope at a time. Suitable laser media and correctly set guides matter more than a broad list of accepted sizes.

The 800-sheet maximum requires the optional 550-sheet drawer. The supplied 250-sheet capacity does not become a bulk 800-sheet system because the expansion appears in a brochure or product photograph. The rear paper exit also needs its own clear space when that path is used.

Use the monthly recommendation for recurring work

The exact model page gives a recommended monthly ceiling of 5,700 pages. That is the useful declaration for a repeating office workload. Its separate maximum duty figure describes a different limit and should not be substituted for the recommendation. A rated engine speed likewise does not establish condition or future reliability in an older offered machine.

PCL and PostScript emulations are listed for this model, but the intended operating system still needs compatible printer software. Historical driver lists do not guarantee present compatibility. AirPrint, Mopria and confidential-job PIN release are not established here. If the office depends on a mobile device or authenticated local release, choose a model with that complete routine explicitly documented.

Starter toner is different from replacement toner

The original US E350d package declares a 1,500-page Return Program starter cartridge. It should not inherit the E352dn's separate 3,000-page starter declaration. Regional E250A11A or E250A21A replacements declare 3,500 pages, while E352H11A or E352H21A high-yield replacements declare 9,000 under ISO/IEC 19752.

The E250X22G photoconductor is a separate supply with a 30,000-page declaration at approximately 5% coverage. Inspect both toner and photoconductor condition, match the supply region and understand Return Program conditions. These yields do not establish a current cost per page or the supplies remaining in a used printer.

Lexmark marks this 25-pound model discontinued. Check its electrical label, appropriate cord, software availability and physical condition. Choose the network variant when included wired sharing is necessary, or a genuine multifunction model when scanning and copying must be part of the same machine.
