Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can wired Ethernet support monochrome Legal duplex at 2,500 monthly pages with 300 included sheets?
Yes with earlier references enabled. The exact network model and original paper table establish that computer-printing arrangement.
Explore this need in the finder →Can an Apple mobile device use documented AirPrint through the suitable shared Ethernet network?
Yes. AirPrint is explicitly listed for the exact US dn model; the mobile device must reach the printer on the suitable network.
Explore this need in the finder →Will the base package satisfy a 500-sheet included input requirement?
No. Included input is 250 plus 50, or 300 sheets. The optional second tray is not part of this configuration.

The Lexmark MS310dn combines monochrome printing, an included network interface and automatic two-sided output in a relatively compact earlier configuration. US part 35S0100 has a 250-sheet drawer and 50-sheet multipurpose feeder. It can serve an ordinary wired workgroup, provided its modest recommended monthly workload and simple light-based controls suit the way people will use it.
The dn suffix distinguishes this package from the MS310d. Both include print duplex, but this model also includes 10/100BaseTX Ethernet. Lexmark marks it discontinued, so verify an offered unit's identity, accessories, software and regional supplies. This article describes documented functions rather than present availability or hands-on reliability.
Network compatibility is different from network speed
The Ethernet entry says it also works with a 1000Base-T network. That allows connection within such an environment; it does not make the printer's own 10/100 interface gigabit. USB Type-B and a bidirectional parallel interface are also standard. Choose the connection actually needed instead of paying attention only to a network compatibility headline.
AirPrint is explicitly listed on the exact US specification. A compatible Apple device can use a suitable shared network that reaches the wired printer; the printer itself does not need an included wireless radio merely for that arrangement. Optional MarkNet Wi-Fi is a separate hardware choice. Confirm discovery, firmware and device compatibility on the intended network, and do not treat this as established Wi-Fi Direct support.
Plan the month before comparing peak speed
Maximum one-sided Letter output is declared at 35 pages per minute. Automatic duplex is separately rated at 16 Letter sides per minute. Those figures describe different printing modes; neither measures the time a particular application takes to prepare a job or how the actual unit behaves with specialty media.
Recommended monthly volume is 500–2,500 pages. The separate 50,000-page maximum duty cycle is not the routine recommendation. A team regularly exceeding the recommended range should compare a printer with a documented larger monthly envelope, even if the MS310dn's maximum duty number initially appears ample. The same care applies when comparing starter and replacement toner yields.
Use all 300 sheets deliberately
Included input is 300 sheets on the declared 20-pound or 75-gsm basis, split into 250 in the main drawer and 50 in the multipurpose feeder. The original paper table supports Letter, Legal and A4 in both inputs and in automatic duplex. When both sources carry the same suitable ordinary paper, their combined capacity is useful; it remains two sources rather than one large drawer.
Set the guides and size/type settings correctly. Linked sources require matching settings, while a distinct paper type can keep a special load separate. Legal paper extends beyond the base when the drawer's length guide is moved, so a shelf sized only to the closed body may be inconvenient. Allow room for loading, output and access as well.
Suitable envelopes have a separate one-sided multipurpose-feeder routine. The paper table does not authorize them in the main drawer or automatic duplex. A second 250- or 550-sheet tray is optional, with 850 sheets maximum using the larger accessory. Check the actual installed drawer and driver configuration if expansion is essential.
Simple controls, regional toner and realistic limits
The panel has indicator lights and buttons, with computer-based settings tools for relevant adjustments. Someone wanting readable status messages at the printer may prefer a display-equipped model. Complete confidential PIN release is not established for this exact configuration; a generic driver feature should not be mistaken for a documented protected-output routine.
The original US package declares 1,500 pages of toner. Listed replacements include 50F1000 at 1,500 and 50F1H00 or 50F0HA0 at 5,000 under ISO/IEC 19752, with a separate 60,000-page imaging unit and its own conditions. Verify region and Return Program terms. The body is 15.7 inches wide, 15.0 deep and 10.3 high at 30.9 pounds; check the actual electrical label. Scanning, copying and fax require a different device.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Manufacturer maximum 35 one-sided Letter pages/minute; duplex separately 16 Letter sides/minute. Actual application output is not measured here.
Paper handling
Included 250-sheet main tray and 50-sheet multipurpose feeder total 300 at 20 lb/75 gsm. Letter, Legal and A4 fit both inputs and automatic duplex. Set matching size/type and guides; Legal loading extends the main tray beyond the body. Suitable envelopes use a separate one-sided multipurpose routine. One optional 250- or 550-sheet tray is not included; maximum with 550 is 850.
Scanning arrangement
Print-only monochrome laser hardware, without document scanning, copying, fax or an ADF. A color display or mobile software does not add those functions.
Computer and mobile connections
Included USB Type-B computer, parallel and 10/100BaseTX Ethernet. Network compatibility with 1000Base-T does not mean a gigabit printer port. MarkNet Wi-Fi and external gigabit servers are optional. AirPrint uses suitable shared networking; no Wi-Fi Direct route is established.
Supplies and declared yields
Original US supplied Return Program toner: 1,500 pages. 50F1000 replacement 1,500; 50F1H00/50F0HA0 5,000, declared ISO/IEC 19752. Separate 50F0Z00/50F0ZA0 imaging unit 60,000 has its own job/coverage basis. Match geographical cartridge restriction and Return Program terms.
Software and support
Light/button panel and computer-based settings utility. Exact US page names AirPrint; confirm compatible Apple device, firmware and shared network. Mopria certification and complete confidential PIN release are not established for this exact arrangement.
Electrical edition and setup
Exact US configuration is separately established. Nominal mains input remains unestablished in the read sources; inspect the actual rating label and correct cord. Body dimensions exclude extended Legal guides, loading and service clearance.
