Protected computer jobs have an actual release routine
The named original guide documents computer submission through compatible Print and Hold software, a four-digit PIN and release at the printer panel. That gives a shared office a defined way to hold supported confidential jobs instead of immediately leaving the pages in the output bin.
Check the intended application and driver, then confirm submission and release on the actual unit. Held-job expiration and memory conditions apply, and stored jobs may be removed when resources are needed. Ordinary documented PIN jobs do not require a disk, but that does not mean the printer is an indefinite document archive or that every mobile command submits a protected job.
