Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can this earlier monochrome printer handle one-sided Legal output over Ethernet with 650 included sheets?
Yes. Both included paper inputs support Legal, and the standard network route is Ethernet. Leave automatic duplex flexible and enable earlier models.
Explore this need in the finder →Can I require automatic two-sided Letter printing?
No. Lexmark explicitly states that duplex is not available on the exact MS810n. The MS810dn and MS810de are different variants.
Explore this need in the finder →Can a USB-connected MS810n scan my invoices to a computer?
No. Its USB port supports computer printing, but the standard MS810n package is print-only and has no scanner.

The Lexmark MS810n is a workgroup monochrome printer for an office that mainly produces single-sided documents. Its useful features are a substantial standard paper supply, gigabit Ethernet, a computer USB connection and the maker's 55-page-per-minute Letter simplex rating. Its deciding limitation is explicit: automatic two-sided printing is not available. The similar-looking MS810dn and MS810de specifications must not be applied to this n variant.
Lexmark's US page identifies part 40G0100 as discontinued. This is an earlier-model reference for an installed printer or a specific offer rather than a current-stock claim. A used machine can also arrive with a configuration that differs from the original package. Check the suffix on the actual unit, the supplied drawers, its regional electrical rating and the seller's terms.
Plan a one-sided document routine
The maximum stated print rate is 55 one-sided Letter pages per minute under the manufacturer's ISO method. It is useful for understanding the machine's intended role, but it is not a measured result from this article. Complex files and the complete path from computer to finished document can differ from a standardized engine-rate figure. There is no automatic duplex rate to borrow from the adjacent dn column.
Consider the documents you actually hand out. For invoices, individual forms or one-sided notices, the absence of automatic duplex may be acceptable. If two-sided reports are routine, choose a printer that performs the turn automatically. Manually refeeding pages introduces a different operating routine and should not be presented as fulfillment of an automatic-duplex requirement. Nor does the front panel's color LCD imply color output: the engine prints in black only.
What the standard 650 sheets mean
The included inputs are a 550-sheet tray and a 100-sheet multipurpose feeder, rated on 20-pound or 75-gsm media. The original paper table supports Letter, Legal and A4 through those inputs. The total is 650 sheets, not the 4,400-sheet expanded maximum. Optional trays, finishers and output expanders require their own matching parts and installation checks.
The multipurpose feed is also useful when changing media for an occasional envelope job. Set the correct paper type and follow the loading instructions rather than treating an envelope as another ordinary sheet. The brochure's external multifunction scanner is optional equipment. The standard MS810n does not scan, copy or fax, regardless of whether a driver package or accessory illustration mentions those functions.
Wired sharing and confidential jobs
Use USB Type-B for direct computer printing or Ethernet for an office queue. The Type-A flash-drive socket is a separate role. Wi-Fi requires the listed optional MarkNet adapter; it is not built into this standard package. If the printer must live somewhere without an Ethernet cable or a nearby computer, establish the actual wireless equipment before choosing an offer.
The exact US specification lists AirPrint, which belongs to a reachable network arrangement rather than a USB-only connection. The shared manual includes other mobile-print instructions with a some-model qualification, so those are not all treated as confirmed features of this n package. For a compatible desktop driver, the guide describes confidential held jobs using a four-digit PIN and release at the printer. These jobs use printer memory and may be removed when memory is required; optional disk capacity is not assumed.
Volume, supplies and the alternative
The currently read US model page recommends 3,000–50,000 pages monthly, while the earlier series brochure gives a lower 20,000-page maximum. Both references are retained; the exact current model page supplies the present recommendation here. Its separate 250,000-page duty ceiling is not everyday monthly advice. Check support guidance and an older unit's condition before planning sustained use near the upper range.
The original starter toner is declared at 10,000 ISO/IEC 19752 pages. US replacement examples are 52D1000 at 6,000 pages and 52D1H00 at 25,000; the imaging unit has a separate yield and replacement role. Match the region and Return Program conditions without inferring today's running cost. The body is 16.7 inches wide, 20.1 deep and 16.5 high, at 52.2 pounds, before operating clearance. Compare the MS810dn first if automatic duplex matters; choose an actual multifunction model if originals must be scanned.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Maker maximum 55 one-sided Letter pages/minute under ISO/IEC 24734. Automatic duplex is explicitly not available on MS810n; neighboring dn/de duplex rates do not apply.
Paper handling
Included 550-sheet tray plus 100-sheet multipurpose feeder: 650 sheets at 20 lb/75 gsm. Letter, Legal and A4 ordinary simplex printing; no automatic duplex path. Optional extra inputs/finishers and scanner are excluded.
Computer and mobile connections
USB Type-B computer printing and gigabit Ethernet are included. Front USB Type-A is for flash media. MarkNet N8350 Wi-Fi, parallel and serial connections are optional; they are not part of the reviewed standard arrangement.
Supplies and declared yields
US supplied starter toner: 10,000 declared one-sided ISO/IEC 19752 pages. Replacement 52D1000 is rated 6,000 pages and 52D1H00 25,000; regular 52D0HA0 is a separate option. Imaging-unit yield is separate from toner and depends on the stated job/coverage conditions. Geographic cartridge restrictions and Return Program conditions apply.
Software and support
Use a compatible current print driver. PIN-held jobs use the driver Print and Hold function and printer control panel; jobs may be deleted if memory is needed. An optional hard disk is not counted as included. Historical cloud-service listings are not current availability promises.
Electrical edition and setup
US SKU and low-voltage regional arrangement only. Original MS810 technical reference gives nominal 100–127 V at 47–63 Hz for low-voltage models and separately lists high-voltage editions. Verify the actual unit label; do not use a voltage converter.
