MX410deIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A wired office that wants automatic two-sided feeder capture and ordinary-paper duplex within a 10,000-page recommended monthly ceiling.

The main tradeoff

Legal originals need the feeder; the glass is smaller, wireless is optional and the historical warranty title is not proof of present coverage.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can Ethernet support fax, Legal duplex feeder scans, PIN release and Legal duplex printing with 300 included sheets?

Yes with compatible computer software, network scan setup and a suitable separately connected fax line. The feeder reverses originals.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can the full Legal original stay on the glass for scanning?

No. The original table’s Legal-glass checkmark is limited to MX510/MX511/MX517; MX410 supports Legal through its feeder.

Does the reversing feeder meet a single-pass duplex scanning requirement?

No. Automatic two-sided capture is documented, but it reverses the sheet rather than reading both faces in one pass.

Two-sided capture with a specific package history

The Lexmark MX410de adds automatic two-sided document capture to monochrome printing, copying, color scanning and analog fax. The US source reviewed here is the historical warranty package, part 35S4683. It includes a 4.3-inch color touchscreen, gigabit Ethernet and 300 sheets of input, with a current manufacturer table recommending 750–10,000 pages per month.

That package identity deserves attention. The source title says “with 3 yr Warranty,” while its detailed warranty field describes one-year service and the breadcrumb uses Lennox. This establishes a real MX410de package, but does not establish present warranty entitlement. Get written coverage for the actual offered unit. Lexmark marks the model discontinued, so the surviving page is also not a current availability promise.

A reversing feeder with a smaller glass

The 50-sheet feeder automatically scans both sides by reversing each sheet. That is useful for a batch of two-sided forms, but it is different from a single-pass scanner with sensors for both faces. Compare the actual feeder method when document handling time is important.

Letter, Legal and A4 are documented feeder sizes. The glass supports Letter and A4, while the original paper table reserves its Legal-glass approval for the MX510, MX511 and MX517. A broad introductory scanner paragraph should not override that model-specific footnote. Delicate full-length Legal originals therefore call for a different glass configuration.

Put normal feeder originals faceup, short edge first, with the guides adjusted. Use the glass for books, photographs, thin or fragile items and small originals. Color capture does not provide color printed output: both copies and print jobs use this monochrome engine.

Computer scans, local jobs and separate fax setup

The exact product lists computer scanning over USB or a network. On a wired network the guide describes creating a Scan Profile with a destination on the computer, then initiating the profile at the panel. A separate Windows Scan to Computer workflow needs compatible software and network setup. Confirm that the desired print and scan tools work on the intended current system.

USB Type-B is the computer connection; the front Type-A port serves supported flash-drive routines. The guide limits those drives to supported FAT formatting and file types rather than arbitrary storage or application files. Ethernet is included. Wireless needs an optional N8352 adapter, and an AirPrint listing does not supply that radio.

The exact US page confirms AirPrint for appropriate shared networking. Confidential computer printing instead depends on compatible Print and Hold controls, a four-digit PIN and local release. Job expiration, incorrect attempts and memory pressure can delete held work. Do not assume every mobile print interface exposes the same protected-job settings.

Analog fax uses its own suitable telephone connection and station setup. The Ethernet cable supports networking rather than the ordinary telephone fax path. Check any service adapter or shared-line arrangement for the actual installation.

Included capacity and supplies

The base input is a 250-sheet drawer plus a 50-sheet multipurpose feeder, totaling 300 sheets on the stated 20-pound or 75-gsm basis. Letter, Legal and A4 fit those inputs and automatic print duplex. Suitable envelopes use the instructed one-sided feeder routine. The 850-sheet maximum requires an optional drawer; it is not the included capacity.

The exact US table declares 40 one-sided Letter pages per minute and separately 18 Letter sides per minute in duplex. Its 100,000-page maximum duty figure is not a recommended sustained workload. An older brochure carries different workload wording, so the exact operative package table is the basis used here.

The original starter declares 5,000 pages. Replacements include 60F1000 at 2,500 and 60F1H00 or 60F0HA0 at 10,000 under ISO/IEC 19752. The separate 60,000-page imaging unit uses its own job and coverage basis. Match regional supplies and Return Program terms. Allow loading and service access around the 44-pound body, and inspect its electrical label before installation.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Exact US table: up to 40 one-sided Letter pages/minute and separately 18 Letter sides/minute in automatic duplex. Maker scan rates are distinct.

Paper handling

Included 250-sheet drawer plus 50-sheet MPF: 300 sheets at 20 lb/75 gsm. Letter/Legal/A4 fit ordinary inputs and duplex. One optional 550-sheet drawer raises input to 850; suitable envelopes use MPF simplex.

Scanning arrangement

50-sheet reversing duplex ADF, not single-pass. Letter/Legal/A4 feeder scanning; Letter/A4 glass only. Guide 71 Legal-glass checkmark is explicitly limited to MX510/MX511/MX517, despite a broader generic paragraph.

Computer and mobile connections

Included USB Type-B, gigabit Ethernet and front Type-A flash interface. USB/network computer scan destinations are explicit. Wireless N8352 is optional; exact AirPrint uses suitable shared networking. Exact Mopria remains unestablished.

Supplies and declared yields

US starter Return Program toner 5,000 pages; 60F1000 replacement 2,500 and 60F1H00/60F0HA0 10,000 under ISO/IEC 19752. Separate 50F0Z00/50F0ZA0 imaging unit 60,000 has its own job/coverage basis.

Software and support

Guide 78–79: compatible computer Print and Hold submits a four-digit 0–9 PIN job for local release; expiration, invalid-attempt and memory limits apply. Flash storage must meet the documented FAT/file restrictions.

Electrical edition and setup

This original source is the historical 35S4683 warranty package: title says 3 yr but current warranty field says 1-Year. Verify written entitlement for an offered unit. Analog fax requires separate suitable phone-line setup. Nominal mains input remains unknown.
