Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can Ethernet combine Legal glass, Legal duplex feeder scans and 650-sheet Legal duplex printing for 14,000 monthly pages?
Yes with compatible network scanning and appropriate ordinary paper. Both included sources and both scanner surfaces support Legal.
Explore this need in the finder →Can USB provide PIN-held A4 duplex printing and color scans?
Yes with compatible computer software. The original paper and PIN sections support that arrangement; PIN entry uses the guide’s four-digit 1–9 routine.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the common MX611 manual mean this MX610 includes analog fax?
No. The exact US modem is N/A, and the original family table distinguishes non-fax MX610 from fax-equipped MX611 variants.
Explore this need in the finder →A larger standard load without the fax package
The Lexmark MX610de is useful when a wired workgroup wants a full 550-sheet main drawer, Legal-size glass and automatic two-sided document capture. US part 35S6700 combines those with a 100-sheet multipurpose feeder, a 7-inch touchscreen and monochrome printing. The included 650-sheet input can reduce how often an ordinary-paper routine interrupts staff for loading.
Fax is the important boundary. This exact model lists its modem as N/A. The original family table distinguishes its print, copy and scan functions from the fax-equipped MX611 models. A common user guide contains telephone instructions for the family, but does not make a fax modem standard in the MX610de.
Flat Legal originals and loose two-sided batches
Letter, Legal and A4 are documented on the glass and through the 50-sheet feeder. The glass is useful for full-length Legal material that should remain flat, plus books, photographs, small items and delicate media. Ordinary loose pages go faceup into the feeder, short edge first, with guides adjusted.
The feeder uses a reversing duplex mechanism. It automatically captures both sides, but it is not a single-pass scanner. The exact US source identifies CCD scanning and separately declares Letter scan rates up to 48 black or 32 color sides per minute for simplex, and 21 black or 14 color sides for duplex. Those are manufacturer modes, not measured complete file-processing times.
Color capture does not change the monochrome output engine. The intended routine is scanning color originals while producing black-and-white copies and printed documents. If large two-sided scanning batches dominate the job, compare a documented single-pass feeder rather than choosing from the print-speed headline.
Prepare the computer destination and job controls
The product explicitly supports computer scanning through USB or a network. The original guide describes a Scan Profile workflow with a destination on the computer, profile submission and local initiation at the panel. Shared folders, application compatibility and destination permissions need to be configured for the actual office system.
USB Type-B connects a workstation. Gigabit Ethernet supplies the standard network path, and the exact US page lists AirPrint for suitable shared networking. Wireless requires an optional N8350 interface; it is not supplied by the mobile protocol listing. Front flash-drive routines have documented file and FAT-format restrictions rather than accepting every storage device or application document.
Compatible computer Print and Hold software provides confidential jobs with a four-digit PIN and local release. This guide specifies digits 1–9. Expiration, invalid attempts and memory pressure affect stored work. A disk is optional on the de configuration, and specified searchable or highly compressed PDF features have their own OCR, RAM and disk requirements. Check the actual installed options before relying on them.
Paper settings and sensible workload limits
The 550-sheet drawer and 100-sheet multipurpose feeder total 650 sheets on the stated 20-pound or 75-gsm basis. Letter, Legal and A4 fit both sources and automatic print duplex. Set size and type to match each load. Suitable envelopes use a separate one-sided multipurpose-feeder routine; the standard 250-sheet output bin is a different capacity.
The 2,300-sheet maximum requires additional drawers, and inline stapling is optional. Printing is declared up to 50 one-sided Letter pages per minute, with duplex separately 22 Letter sides per minute. The recommended 2,000–15,000-page monthly range remains distinct from the exact US page's 175,000-page maximum duty rating.
Toner and a practical installation decision
The original US starter declares 7,500 pages. Listed replacements are 60F1000 at 2,500, 60F1H00 at 10,000 and 60F1X00 or 60F0XA0 at 20,000 under ISO/IEC 19752. The separate 60,000-page imaging unit has another job and coverage basis. Match regional supplies and Return Program terms.
Lexmark marks the MX610de discontinued. Verify condition, working print and scan software, installed accessories and the electrical label. Allow scanner-cover, loading and service room around the 52-pound body. A genuine fax-equipped or wireless package is a more suitable alternative when either capability is essential.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Exact US maximum 50 one-sided Letter pages/minute; duplex printing separately 22 Letter sides/minute. Letter scanning separately up to 48 black/32 color simplex and 21 black/14 color duplex sides/minute.
Paper handling
Included 550-sheet drawer plus 100-sheet MPF: 650 sheets at 20 lb/75 gsm, with separate 250-sheet output. Letter/Legal/A4 fit both inputs and automatic ordinary-paper duplex. Maximum 2,300 and inline stapler require optional hardware. Suitable envelopes use MPF simplex.
Scanning arrangement
50-sheet CCD reversing duplex feeder, not single-pass. Guide 15 and visually read 74 confirm Letter/Legal/A4 on both glass and feeder. USB/network computer destinations and scan profiles are explicit.
Computer and mobile connections
Included gigabit Ethernet, USB Type-B and front/rear Type-A; internal N8350 Wi-Fi and parallel/serial interfaces are optional. Exact US AirPrint uses suitable shared networking. Conditional guide 79 does not establish exact Mopria support.
