A useful fit for

A compatible computer-printing routine needing ordinary Letter, Legal or A4 output and documented local confidential-job release.

The main tradeoff

Recommended monthly volume is unestablished, and optional networking or duplex must be checked on the actual unit.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can base USB support PIN-held Legal printing with 350 sheets of ordinary input?

Yes with compatible Lexmark custom drivers and at least 16 MB available printer memory. Legal fits the included drawer and MPF; the PIN uses digits 1–6.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can USB handle A4 documents and occasional envelopes?

Yes. Ordinary A4 uses the included paper sources, and suitable envelopes use the separate one-sided MPF routine with matching settings.

Explore this need in the finder →
Does the 175,000-page duty declaration establish a recommended 5,000-page monthly workload?

No recommended monthly maximum is established in the read sources. A maximum duty declaration cannot substitute for that selected requirement.

A base monochrome printer with specific older controls

The Lexmark T630 base model offers monochrome laser output, a 250-sheet drawer and 100-sheet multipurpose feeder. Exact US part 10G0100 provides USB and parallel computer interfaces. It is a reference for an existing or offered earlier machine where compatible computer printing and local confidential-job release matter more than modern mobile conveniences.

Networking and automatic duplex are separately listed options. The base printer also has no scanner, copier or fax. Manufacturer descriptions about adding multifunction capability refer to additional hardware, not functions supplied by the ordinary T630. Lexmark marks the model discontinued, making condition and current software compatibility central checks.

Confirm the custom driver before relying on PIN release

The original guide describes ordinary document submission through the selected printer driver. Check the intended computer and application, then match paper source, size and type to the load. A historical operating-system listing is not a guarantee that every current system exposes the same controls.

Confidential printing has an unusually specific requirement: the guide says to use compatible Lexmark custom drivers. Submit a four-digit PIN using digits 1–6. At the printer, use the Job Menu, choose Confidential Job and the user name, enter the same code through the numbered buttons and release the job. Printed confidential jobs are deleted from memory.

Print and Hold requires at least 16 MB of available printer memory. The guide recommends 32 MB and a hard disk, but that recommendation is not a mandatory disk requirement. Check available memory and the actual protected-job process with the intended documents. Other held-job types have different release behavior and should not be assumed confidential.

USB Type-B is the established base computer route here. A card slot does not establish an installed network interface. Do not borrow the newer T640's front flash-drive PDF routine or assume AirPrint or Mopria from generic networking possibilities.

The supplied paper load and optional two-sided path

The included drawer and MPF total 350 sheets on the stated 20-pound or 75-gsm basis. Letter, Legal and A4 fit both ordinary inputs. Adjust guides, keep below load lines and match panel and software settings. Sources loaded with the same size and type can be linked under the documented routine.

Automatic duplex needs the matching optional 250-sheet unit. Its name identifies the standard-tray configuration it fits; it is not another input drawer. Inspect actual hardware before relying on two-sided output, and allow the space and support arrangement needed by additional equipment.

Suitable envelopes use the separate one-sided MPF routine, with up to ten under the guide's conditions. Load them flap down with the short return-address edge entering first, and select the actual Envelope size and type. Avoid stamps, windows, clasps, exposed adhesive and damaged stock. The 85-envelope feeder is a separate option.

Maximum capacity and speed are not regular-workload promises

The 3,850-sheet maximum input and larger output or finishing arrangements require optional hardware. Base output holds 250 sheets. Check installed equipment, software recognition and support-furniture requirements for larger floor-mounted combinations.

Lexmark declares up to 35 one-sided Letter pages per minute, separately from 33 A4 pages per minute in its marketing description. Those are manufacturer modes, not measured application results. The 175,000-page maximum duty declaration does not establish a quantified recommended monthly workload, which remains unconfirmed here.

Read the cartridge label and yield basis carefully

The US reference lists a supplied 21,000-page High Yield Return Program cartridge and 5,000- or 21,000-page replacement classes under its ISO/IEC 19752 note. The older guide separately lists 5,000- and 20,000-page part choices at approximately 5% coverage. Those differently stated bases should not be treated as one interchangeable capacity claim.

The guide explicitly excludes its extra-high-yield cartridges from T630 compatibility. Specialized label work needs the specified label cartridge and fuser cleaner, which also affects duplex suitability. Inspect maintenance condition, cartridge region and electrical label. Allow operating access around the 38-pound body, or compare a documented network, duplex or MFP configuration when those functions define the work.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Exact US maximum 35 one-sided Letter pages/minute; the separate A4 marketing rate is 33. A quantified recommended monthly range is unestablished; 175,000 is the maximum duty declaration, not that recommendation.

Paper handling

Included 250-sheet drawer plus 100-sheet MPF totals 350 at 20 lb/75 gsm; Letter/Legal/A4 fit both. Automatic duplex needs an optional matching 250-sheet unit. Suitable envelopes use MPF simplex, up to 10 under guide conditions. Maximum 3,850 input and extra output/finishing need options; base output is 250.

Scanning arrangement

Print-only base hardware has no scanner, copier or fax. Manufacturer references to adding multifunction hardware do not establish those functions in the supplied printer.

Computer and mobile connections

Exact base ports are USB Type-B, parallel and one internal card slot. Network interfaces are listed as options, so only the included USB computer arrangement is qualified. No front flash-PDF facility or current mobile protocol is borrowed from T640.

Supplies and declared yields

Exact US reference lists a supplied 21,000-page High Yield Return Program cartridge and 5,000/21,000 replacement classes under its ISO/IEC 19752 note. The 2002 guide separately lists 12A7460/12A7360 at 5,000 and 12A7462/12A7362 at 20,000 with approximately 5% coverage; do not equate bases. Extra-high 12A7465/12A7365 are explicitly incompatible with T630. Match actual cartridge and region.

Software and support

Guide 26–27 gives actual confidential-job submission using compatible Lexmark custom drivers and a four-digit PIN using 1–6, followed by local release. Print and Hold needs at least 16 MB available memory; 32 MB and a disk are recommendations. Check actual free memory and current compatible software. AirPrint/Mopria are unestablished.

Electrical edition and setup

Inspect electrical label, correct cord, maintenance condition and actual installed options. A shared guide covering 110 V and 220 V maintenance parts is not proof of one offered unit’s mains rating. Allow operating/service clearance and specified support furniture for larger option stacks.
