The main tradeoff

Recommended monthly volume is unestablished; verify regional part, electrical label and optional duplex on the actual offered unit.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the independently sourced US Ethernet configuration combine PIN-held Legal printing and 600-sheet input?

Yes with compatible Lexmark custom drivers and at least 16 MB available printer memory. US part 10G0400 includes Ethernet, and Legal fits both ordinary sources.

A network model whose regional part still matters

The Lexmark T632n is a monochrome network printer with a 500-sheet drawer and 100-sheet multipurpose feeder. The independently established US configuration is part 10G0400, supplying 10/100BaseTX Ethernet and USB Type-B. It suits a compatible wired computer routine needing ordinary document printing and local confidential-job release on an earlier machine.

The original UK reference identifies part 10G0421. It is preserved as a regional reference rather than treated as the same electrical edition. Check the part number and electrical label of the offered unit. Lexmark marks the model discontinued, and compatible software and condition matter more than a surviving historical listing.

Set up the supplied wired interface

The US network model supplies Ethernet directly, unlike the base T632's optional network arrangement. USB remains available for a directly attached computer. Two internal card slots are expansion facilities, while parallel, serial and external wireless equipment are listed separately. A network-ready name does not mean built-in Wi-Fi.

The original guide describes submitting documents through compatible printing software and selecting the appropriate source, size and type. Confirm that the intended current system can use the required functions. Older Mac or Windows listings are not a promise that every newer application exposes the same controls.

No AirPrint, Mopria or Wi-Fi Direct routine is established here. The actual wired computer path should be assessed on its own. A newer model with explicit mobile-protocol support is the sensible comparison when phone or tablet printing defines the work.

The older PIN routine uses numbered panel buttons

Confidential printing requires compatible Lexmark custom drivers in the original instructions. Submit a four-digit PIN using digits 1–6. At the printer, choose Confidential Job and the user name through the Job Menu, enter the matching code with the numbered buttons and release the job. Printed confidential jobs are deleted from memory.

Print and Hold needs at least 16 MB available printer memory. The guide recommends 32 MB and a disk; it does not make a disk mandatory for every confidential job. Check the available memory and representative documents. Other held-job types, including Verify, Reserve and Repeat, do not all have the same protected-release behavior.

Six hundred supplied sheets and a separate duplex option

The included 500-sheet drawer and 100-sheet MPF total 600 at the stated 20-pound or 75-gsm basis. Letter, Legal and A4 fit both ordinary inputs. Adjust guides, respect load lines and match panel and driver settings. Matching sources can be linked through the documented media settings.

Automatic duplex requires the matching optional 500-sheet unit. Its sheet designation identifies the standard-tray configuration it fits, not another input drawer. Verify installed hardware and software recognition before expecting two-sided output. Maximum input of 4,100 sheets, larger output and finishing also require options; base output holds 500 sheets.

Suitable envelopes use a separate one-sided MPF routine, with up to ten under the guide's conditions. Load flap down with the short return-address edge entering first, and select Envelope and the actual size. Avoid stamps, windows, clasps, damaged stock and exposed adhesive. The optional 85-envelope feeder is different hardware.

Keep rate and supply measurements separate

The US page declares up to 40 one-sided Letter pages per minute. The UK page's 38-ppm A4 figure is a different paper mode. Neither is a measured application result. The 200,000-page maximum duty declaration does not establish a quantified recommended monthly range.

The US reference lists a supplied 21,000-page High Yield Return Program cartridge and 5,000-, 21,000- and 32,000-page replacement classes under its ISO/IEC 19752 note. The older guide separately lists 5,000-, 20,000- and 30,000-page parts at approximately 5% coverage. Match the actual cartridge, region and terms instead of merging those bases.

Inspect maintenance condition and any special label fuser-cleaner arrangement. Allow service and loading access around the 41.5-pound body, and follow support requirements for larger option stacks. Choose an explicitly duplex-equipped package or an MFP when two-sided output or original capture is essential.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Independent exact US maximum 40 one-sided Letter pages/minute. Original UK reference lists 38 A4 pages/minute; these are distinct modes. A recommended monthly range is unestablished; 200,000 is maximum duty only.

Paper handling

Exact US included 500-sheet drawer plus 100-sheet MPF totals 600 at 20 lb/75 gsm. Letter/Legal/A4 fit both. A matching 500-sheet duplex unit is optional. Suitable envelopes use MPF simplex, up to 10 under guide conditions. Maximum 4,100 input and extra output/finishing need options; base output is 500.

Scanning arrangement

Print-only base hardware has no scanner, copier or fax. Manufacturer references to adding multifunction hardware do not establish those functions in the supplied printer.

Computer and mobile connections

Independent US 10G0400 includes 10/100BaseTX Ethernet, USB Type-B and two internal card slots. Parallel/serial and external 802.11b wireless are options. No included Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct or verified mobile-protocol arrangement is qualified.

Supplies and declared yields

US reference lists a supplied 21,000-page High Yield Return Program cartridge and 5,000/21,000/32,000 replacement classes under its ISO/IEC 19752 note. The older guide separately lists 5,000/20,000/30,000 parts at approximately 5% coverage. Confirm exact current regional cartridge compatibility and terms; do not merge measurement bases or UK/US supply assumptions.

Software and support

Guide 26–27 gives actual confidential-job submission using compatible Lexmark custom drivers and a four-digit PIN using 1–6, followed by local release. Print and Hold needs at least 16 MB available memory; 32 MB and a disk are recommendations. Check actual free memory and current compatible software. AirPrint/Mopria are unestablished.

Electrical edition and setup

Inspect electrical label, correct cord, maintenance condition and actual installed options. A shared guide covering 110 V and 220 V maintenance parts is not proof of one offered unit’s mains rating. Allow operating/service clearance and specified support furniture for larger option stacks.
