Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a verified direct USB Windows installation print Legal documents with 250 suitable ordinary sheets in the included cassette?
Yes. The exact B4100 cassette and paper table support Legal at the stated ordinary paper condition. The manual slot is separate and the exact GDI driver is required.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the B4350 network option supply Ethernet to this ordinary 120 V B4100?
No. The exact interface and option sections assign that networking to B4350 configurations. B4100 is excluded from the claimed Ethernet route.
Explore this need in the finder →Does its family option list let an ordinary B4100 meet a 500-sheet input requirement?
No. Its included cassette holds 250 sheets, and the actual guide excludes B4100 from the optional second 500-sheet cassette. A single manual sheet does not supply that capacity.
Explore this need in the finder →Choose the B4100 Windows route before the shared manual's options
The OKI B4100 is an earlier monochrome LED printer using Enhanced Windows Printing, also called GDI. Its memory is fixed at 8 MB. The original Americas brochure identifies the 120 V configuration as part 62422001 and documents direct USB connectivity.
The shared user guide includes B4250 and B4350 variants, so its chapter headings need careful reading. PCL, PostScript, Macintosh installation and memory expansion do not automatically apply to B4100. Verify the exact Windows driver and Status Monitor on the intended computer before relying on this host-based installation.
The 120 V machine does not acquire a network option
The actual interface chapter assigns Ethernet to B4350 configurations and explicitly excludes B4100 from the parallel interface. The Americas brochure separately notes parallel connectivity for its 230 V edition. That regional detail is not merged into this 120 V USB assessment.
A family-level networking paragraph therefore cannot establish an Ethernet installation here. No native AirPrint or other mobile printing route is documented. If a network port is essential, this configuration does not meet that connection requirement.
A 250-sheet cassette and manual slot serve different jobs
The ordinary cassette supports Letter, Legal and A4 and holds 250 suitable sheets at the stated loading condition. A single-sheet manual source is also included, but it is not another unattended cassette. The actual specification excludes the family's optional second 500-sheet tray for B4100.
The envelope procedure opens the rear exit, adjusts the manual guides and inserts an envelope with the specified flap orientation. Set its size and landscape orientation in software. The short face-up path also matters for other suitable special media; it does not justify loading them into the ordinary cassette.
Automatic print duplex remains unestablished. Neither a paper-size list nor a printing-preferences screen proves an automatic return path. This assessment does not promise that two printed sides emerge without operator handling.
Four indicators put more importance on the computer utility
B4100's panel has Power On, Ready, Manual Feed and Error indicators, plus a control button. The guide distinguishes slow, normal and rapid flash patterns. A neighboring LCD panel illustration is not this model's control system.
The Status Monitor provides the model's paper-size and media-type setup. Select the actual source and material, apply the change, and verify that the application agrees. The guide explains that incorrect heat and pressure settings can leave heavy media poorly fused or make lighter material curl.
The first cartridge has a different job from a replacement
The exact guide declares 2,500 Letter pages at 5% coverage for B4100 replacement toner. The larger 6,000-page family cartridge belongs to B4350. These are coverage-based declarations, rather than an ISO yield claim.
The first standard cartridge must charge the image drum reservoir and developing roller. The guide says it normally produces about 1,000 pages after installation. The separate 25,000-page drum declaration assumes continuous printing, so supply planning needs the actual job pattern and maintenance state.
Keep engine speed, monthly duty and printer life separate
The B4100 engine is rated up to 19 pages per minute; the 23-page figure belongs to the faster variants. The selected original material does not establish a strict Letter simplex comparison figure, and no independent timing is claimed.
The brochure's 15,000-page monthly duty is separate from a recommended workload, which remains unknown. Likewise, the guide's printer-life example does not establish monthly advice. Leave additional cover and rear-path clearance beyond the compact body, and check the exact voltage label before installing an earlier unit.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The original Americas B4100 brochure and exact guide give up to 19 pages/minute without the strict Letter one-sided measurement basis. The faster 23 ppm applies to B4250/B4350 variants. Its 15000-page monthly duty is not a recommended interval. The guide’s 180000-page/five-year life example and average 3000 pages/month are not recast as a recommendation.
Paper handling
The ordinary 250-sheet Letter/Legal/universal cassette supports Letter, Legal and A4 at the specified ordinary paper condition. The single-sheet manual feed is separate and does not add another unattended cassette. The actual options and specifications exclude the second 500-sheet tray for B4100. Envelopes use the manual source and rear face-up path, with size and orientation set in software. Automatic print duplex is unestablished.
Scanning arrangement
The actual operating specification positively identifies a monochrome LED electrophotographic print-only machine. It has no integrated scanner, glass, ADF, copier or fax. Four status LEDs are panel indicators, separate from the imaging engine.
Computer and mobile connections
The exact Americas 62422001 120 V B4100 uses USB. The guide excludes B4100 from the parallel interface and from the B4350 Ethernet option; the brochure separately says the 230 V edition can have parallel connectivity. Those configurations are not merged into this 120 V model. No native network/mobile route is established.
Supplies and declared yields
The actual B4100 replacement toner is 2500 Letter pages at 5% coverage, while 6000-page toner belongs to B4350. The guide says the first standard cartridge normally produces about 1000 pages after charging the new drum reservoir and roller. Drum life is approximately 25000 Letter pages under continuous printing. These are not ISO yield declarations or monthly workload recommendations.
Software and support
B4100 is Enhanced Windows Printing/GDI with fixed 8 MB memory. PCL, PostScript, additional memory and Macintosh installation in the shared guide belong to other explicitly named variants. The ordinary panel has four indicators and one control button; its Status Monitor supplies media-type and size controls. Verify the actual compatible Windows driver and utility before installation.
Electrical edition and setup
The original Americas brochure maps 62422001 to B4100 120 V and 62422002 to 230 V. The body measures 14 × 15.6 × 7.9 inches, with additional operating clearance required at the rear and top. Loaded mass is unknown: brochure 22 lb and guide 20 lb use differing or unstated supply bases.
