Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can ordinary wired B6300n supply 700-sheet included Letter input for monochrome desktop printing?
Yes. Its included upper 150-sheet and lower 550-sheet cassettes total 700 on the actual Letter/A4 ordinary-paper basis. The n edition includes Ethernet.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the ordinary n configuration include the duplexer described in the operating guide?
No. Both the exact Americas brochure and actual guide identify the duplex unit as optional.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it provide password-held printing without adding the optional hard disk?
No. The actual Secure Print chapter explicitly requires that disk. The ordinary included configuration is not assigned PIN release.
Explore this need in the finder →The n suffix supplies the network connection
The OKI B6300n is a monochrome laser workgroup printer with included Ethernet, computer USB, parallel and serial interfaces. The base B6300 does not include the same network arrangement. The exact Americas brochure maps B6300n part 62421401 to 120 V, with a different part for 230 V.
This assessment concerns the ordinary included n configuration. An individual earlier machine may have acquired expansion hardware, but those additions should be identified rather than assumed from the family name or a driver menu.
Two cassettes are included; the duplexer is not
The upper cassette holds 150 suitable ordinary sheets and the lower B6300 cassette holds 550. Their combined included capacity is 700, unlike the smaller lower cassette used by B6200. Extra cassettes are optional.
The actual source tables accept Letter, Legal and A4 in both included trays. The summarized capacity basis, however, specifically uses Letter/A4 P paper. This assessment assigns the complete 700-sheet exact-size capacity to Letter and A4; Legal acceptance is documented separately without promising the same tested stack basis.
The automatic duplex unit is optional on B6300n. Its supported-size table and driver controls describe an equipped machine, not an ordinary included duplexer. Without adding that unit, this model does not satisfy an automatic two-sided printing requirement.
Secure Print also has a hardware prerequisite
The original operating chapter starts by requiring the optional hard disk for Secure Print. The compatible desktop procedure can then attach a password, send the data for temporary storage and release it from the panel. Ordinary included B6300n lacks that prerequisite.
A storage option advertised elsewhere in the brochure should not be treated as standard. Likewise, a management password, network interface or display is not proof of confidential held-job printing. Check installed storage and the intended driver before relying on an equipped machine's security features.
Envelope and long-paper jobs require deliberate setup
The actual guide provides an envelope procedure using a cassette, the appropriate size and the Heavyweight 1 paper setting. It states that the reverse side of an envelope cannot be printed. Close the flap, set the prescribed orientation and match the driver source to the loaded tray.
Long custom paper belongs to the upper source's wider dimension range. The guide warns that print quality on the part extending beyond 356 mm is not guaranteed. A maximum accepted sheet length therefore does not promise uniform results over its entire length.
When loading paper longer than Letter or A4, the cassette extends according to the actual procedure. Include that extension and output access in the working-space plan rather than measuring only the closed enclosure.
Use the actual driver and speed basis
The operating guide gives a Windows PCL printing procedure and warns that installed options, source, size and type must agree. Verify an exact compatible driver on the intended computer. USB 2.0 here is specifically full-speed, and neither Ethernet nor generic IPP establishes a modern native mobile service.
The brochure's 35 ppm headline is separate from the guide's explicit A4 one-sided and two-sided rates. A strict Letter simplex comparison value remains unestablished here. No independent timing test is implied.
Separate the loaded machine, toner and workload ceiling
The actual B6300 specification gives 49.8 lb including its drum/toner cartridge, a clearer basis than the lighter unqualified brochure figure. Leave service and ventilation room in addition to paper-loading space.
The 6,000-page starter and larger replacement declarations use stated coverage assumptions, not a measured cost per page. Finally, the 150,000-page monthly duty is a maximum ceiling; a manufacturer-recommended interval is not established by that number or by dividing it into workdays.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The Americas brochure gives up to 35 ppm without a precise simplex/size footnote. Actual guide lists B6300 Letter 35/A4 34 separately and explicitly bases 34 one-sided/20.9 two-sided sheets/min on A4 portrait; strict Letter simplex field remains unknown. Maximum duty is 150000 pages/month, not a recommended interval.
Paper handling
The exact B6300n has included upper 150-sheet and lower 550-sheet cassettes for 700 sheets. Actual media tables list Letter, Legal and A4 in both, but the explicit summarized capacity basis is Letter/A4 P paper; exact-size capacity is assigned only to Letter/A4. The duplex unit and extra 550-sheet trays are optional. Custom long paper belongs to tray 1, with print quality beyond 356 mm not guaranteed. Suitable envelopes use the prescribed cassette/driver procedure and cannot print their reverse side.
Scanning arrangement
Actual specifications identify laser xerography and a monochrome print-only machine. It has no integrated scanner, glass, document feeder, copying or fax.
Computer and mobile connections
B6300n includes 10/100 Ethernet, USB 2.0 full-speed, parallel and serial interfaces. The base B6300 lacks the n edition’s included Ethernet. Ordinary matching covers compatible USB or Ethernet desktop printing; no wireless or native AirPrint/Mopria route is established.
Supplies and declared yields
The Americas brochure declares a 6000-page starter and 10000/17000-page replacements at 5% coverage, not an ISO yield claim. Actual guide describes a combined drum/toner cartridge. Supply declarations are separate from maximum duty and measured running costs.
Software and support
Actual Windows PCL procedure requires source, size/type and installed options to agree. Secure Print chapter explicitly requires the optional hard disk before storing password-held jobs. The brochure also mentions expansion storage, but ordinary included configuration has no such disk and is not assigned PIN release. An optional duplex chapter does not establish an included duplexer.
Electrical edition and setup
The exact Americas table identifies B6300n 62421401 as 120 V and 62421402 as 230 V. Actual B6300 body is 421.8 × 465.4 × 404.3 mm. Its 49.8 lb mass explicitly includes drum/toner; the brochure’s 45 lb value lacks a comparable basis and is not used as loaded mass. Allow extra space for extended Legal loading, output and service.
