C911dn (N36100A, 120V configuration)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A prepared wired desktop installation needing ordinary A3 or Tabloid color documents and suitable two-sided media.

The main tradeoff

It requires substantial handling and clearance; secure printing needs optional storage and heavy-media limits vary by route.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the documented Ethernet desktop route combine Tabloid automatic duplex with 830 suitable Tabloid input positions when both standard sources hold that stock?

Yes. The actual feed and duplex matrix supports Tabloid through both ordinary sources. The retained830 standard headline excludes optional trays and the separate lighter-stock capacity declaration.

Does ordinary C911dn include the HDD needed to implement secure printing?

No included disk is established. The exact operating guide makes that HDD optional, so this ordinary plan does not meet a PIN-release requirement.

Does A3 printing capability establish an A3 computer-scanning workflow?

No. The exact machine is print-only and has no integrated document-capture route.

A large CMYK printer with an installation to match

The OKI C911dn is an earlier color LED printer that supports ordinary office documents as well as A3 and Tabloid work. The exact operating guide identifies a four-head CMYK engine and a 120V electrical version. White and clear spot-color features elsewhere in the shared manual belong to other models.

This is a substantial installation. The manual requires at least four people for lifting, and loading, output and service need room beyond the published body dimensions. Check the exact rating plate and physical access before treating the machine as a larger version of a small desktop printer.

Choose media by the real feed matrix

The original paper matrix positively supports Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid through the ordinary sources, with automatic duplex on suitable stock. That allows larger two-sided documents without reducing every job to a multipurpose-only exception.

The broad media headline still has limits. The heaviest multipurpose simplex rating does not extend to duplex, and envelopes, labels, transparencies and index cards are excluded from two-sided printing. Very light stock also has restrictions. Match the exact material and output route rather than relying on size alone.

Some paper sizes require explicit control-panel settings. The guide specifically notes that only width is detected automatically in the relevant tray arrangement and lists exceptions including Legal 14. A correctly loaded stack can therefore still need a matching panel and driver selection.

Read capacity with its paper-weight assumption

The manufacturer product table gives a standard 530-sheet cassette and 300-sheet multipurpose input. The later operating specification gives higher counts for lighter 64gsm stock, together with stack-height limits. Those are different declared conditions, not figures to mix into one larger standard capacity.

The retained 830 positions also assume both ordinary sources are allocated to the chosen size and suitable stock. If one source holds another material, its full count is not simultaneously available for the same document packet.

Expansion trays are optional. Check their actual installation and settings before relying on a larger reserve. The multipurpose loading process also includes its support and setting lever; position the stock correctly and avoid adding paper during printing.

Establish the computer and network setup

The basic guide describes Ethernet and USB installation, then actual desktop printing through Windows and Mac drivers. It distinguishes PS, PCL and XPS choices according to the application. Verify the exact supported driver and paper selections on the intended computer.

The documented factory setup disables Gigabit Ethernet until it is enabled in the administrator settings. An installed Gigabit-capable socket is therefore not proof that the current configuration uses that mode. A normal wired print route also does not establish native mobile printing or wireless connectivity.

Secure printing requires the optional disk

The operating chapter explicitly identifies the built-in HDD as optional and associates it with implementing secure printing. The standard configuration is not assigned a confidential PIN-release workflow merely because secure-job function numbers appear in the shared menu table.

For that requirement, establish the disk, driver and release process together. Administrative passwords and ordinary network access solve different problems.

Keep production declarations separate

The exact speed table states one-sided A4 landscape and A3 portrait rates. They are not converted into Letter measurements. The guide's average quantity and service-life declaration also have different meanings from the regional maximum monthly duty.

The US support page lists replacement toner, separate drums and maintenance items with their own conditions. None establishes the yield of an in-box starter or the remaining condition of a particular unit. This is also print-only hardware: large paper capability and color output do not add document scanning or copying.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The exact guide declares color and mono one-sided50 pages/minute on landscape A4 and 28 on portrait A3, with auto media weight. These are not converted to Letter rates. The Australian manufacturer table gives 300,000 maximum monthly duty and 25,000 recommended; the guide labels25,000 as average quantity. A US recommended interval is not assigned, and device service life is not monthly duty.

Paper handling

The official standard arrangement is 530-sheet tray 1 plus 300-sheet multipurpose input, retained as830 conditional ordinary positions. The later guide separately gives 580+310 at 64 gsm and stack-height limits; those lighter-stock figures are not combined with the standard headline. The exact feed matrix supports Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid in both ordinary sources and automatic duplex on suitable stock. Optional expansion trays are excluded. The 360 gsm multipurpose simplex limit does not apply to duplex; envelopes, labels, transparencies and index cards are not duplexable.

Scanning arrangement

The exact four-head CMYK LED device is print-only. Five-head spot white/clear functions belong to other named models; no integrated glass, ADF, computer scanning, copying or fax is established.

Computer and mobile connections

Included wired Ethernet and USB 2.0 are documented. The operating guide positively covers computer printing through both. Gigabit Ethernet is disabled by default in the documented setup and must be enabled for that mode. No ordinary wireless or native mobile route is established in the read source.

Supplies and declared yields

The US support record lists 24,000-page replacement CMYK toner under ISO/IEC 19798 A4 conditions, an additional38,000 black print-cartridge listing and separate 40,000-page color drums at A4 landscape three pages/job. These are listed replacement/life declarations, not in-box starter yields. Fuser, belt and waste toner also have separate maintenance roles.

Software and support

The exact guide describes Windows PS/PCL/XPS and Mac PS driver installation and actual paper-source/media selection. Several sizes, including Legal14 and certain larger formats, need explicit panel settings rather than automatic recognition. The built-in HDD is optional and needed to implement secure printing; an ordinary included PIN-release plan is not assigned. Check current driver/application compatibility.

Electrical edition and setup

The exact guide maps C911dn to N36100A120 V, separately from 230 V and 100 V versions. This record concerns that low-voltage configuration; the unit rating must match the installation. Official body dimensions are 699 × 625 × 640 mm, with substantial loading/service/output clearance additional. The guide’s approximately 98 kg including supplies differs from the regional96.5 kg, so one loaded weight is not assigned. The installation requires at least four people for lifting.
