Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a compatible wired Windows MC561dn workflow combine Legal color duplex printing, Legal automatic two-sided network capture and 350-sheet included input?
Yes. The actual print and network-PC scan procedures support Legal, with automatic feeder duplex whose mechanism is not established here. A prepared network profile and suitable media are required; the glass is not Legal size.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the included SD configuration hold an ordinary supported Windows PCL/PS job for password release?
Yes. MC561dn has resident SD storage, and the exact Secure Print instructions provide password-held jobs through compatible Windows PCL/PS. XPS and Mac drivers are explicitly excluded.
Explore this need in the finder →Does its Legal feeder also establish a Legal flatbed capture workflow?
No. Legal belongs to the feeder size list. The document glass is limited to Letter and A4 among these choices.
Explore this need in the finder →The MC561 has storage that the smaller sibling lacks
The OKI MC561dn combines color LED printing with copying, color scanning and telephone fax. The exact Americas support identity is part 62435801. Its original shared manual needs careful reading: the MC561dn column includes a resident 4 GB SD card, while the MC361dn column does not.
That difference matters for confidential output. The advanced guide requires the card for Secure Print and explicitly provides the MC561 procedure. Treating all shared-manual models as identical would miss a genuine capability of this configuration.
Password release depends on the actual driver
Compatible Windows PCL and PostScript drivers can send a Secure Print job with a job name and password. The data waits at the machine until the user selects the stored job and enters that password. The included SD card supplies the documented prerequisite.
The same instructions explicitly exclude PCL XPS and Mac drivers from this feature. Encrypted Secure Print has additional restrictions on several older 64-bit Windows editions. Ordinary password-held output and encrypted submission are therefore different promises, and neither should be assumed for an unverified modern driver.
Legal originals belong in the feeder
The 50-sheet automatic document feeder accepts Letter, Legal and A4 originals. The glass accepts Letter and A4 among those sizes, but not Legal. A large printing-paper list does not enlarge the scanner glass.
The original network-PC operating table provides long-edge and short-edge duplex scanning with the named document sizes. That establishes automatic two-sided feeder capture, but the mechanism is not established here. This assessment therefore makes no single-pass claim.
Documents that are torn, curled, coated or attached with staples and adhesive need different handling. The manual directs unsuitable feeder originals to the glass. Check whether the smaller glass can actually accommodate the original before choosing that alternative.
Network filing and ActKey are separate scan routines
Scan to Network PC sends a file to a prepared network server profile. The Americas manual lists FTP, HTTP and CIFS for this route and provides a color-start procedure. Destination permissions, profile settings and the receiving system must be configured before everyday use.
Scan to Local PC instead launches ActKey and TWAIN on a Windows computer. It can use USB or a correctly configured network, with additional network TWAIN settings when appropriate. That particular panel-start workflow is explicitly unavailable for Macintosh. A Mac scanner interface listed elsewhere does not remove this restriction.
Included duplex does not include another paper tray
The standard cassette holds 250 suitable sheets and the multipurpose source adds 100 at the specified 75 gsm basis. Both support Letter, Legal and A4. The 530-sheet second cassette is an option, so ordinary included capacity remains 350 sheets.
The actual desktop duplex procedure supports these ordinary sizes at 64–176 gsm, with the rear exit closed. Suitable envelopes use a different multipurpose and rear-output routine and cannot duplex. Match the material as well as the nominal page size.
Use the speed and electrical declarations in context
The exact column gives 30 monochrome and 26 color pages per minute on A4 simplex, with lower duplex rates. Those figures do not establish a strict Letter simplex rate or a recommended monthly workload. No independent speed or running-cost test is implied.
The shared Americas manual lists both low- and high-voltage versions without mapping this exact part to one electrical label. Verify the actual unit, compatible drivers and receiving network system. Finally, leave access around the closed body for feeder loading, trays, output and maintenance; body dimensions alone are not an operating footprint.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The exact MC561dn Americas manual specifies A4 simplex 30 monochrome/26 color ppm and A4 duplex 16/14 ppm. These are not strict Letter simplex fields, independent tests or recommended monthly workloads.
Paper handling
Tray 1 holds 250 and the multipurpose source 100 suitable 75 gsm sheets; both explicitly support Letter, Legal and A4. The optional 530-sheet second tray is excluded. Actual print duplex supports these sizes at 64–176 gsm, with the rear exit closed. Envelopes use the prescribed multipurpose/rear path and cannot duplex.
Scanning arrangement
The exact color CIS/LED scanner has a 50-sheet feeder accepting Letter, Legal and A4, while glass is limited to Letter/A4 among these sizes. The original actual network-PC scan table provides automatic long-/short-edge duplex capture with these named sizes, but the mechanism is unestablished; no single-pass claim is made. The USB ActKey plan is restricted to independently confirmed glass/simplex feeder operation.
Computer and mobile connections
Direct USB and Ethernet are actual rear computer connections. Network-PC file delivery requires a prepared server profile and supports FTP/HTTP/CIFS; Windows local-PC ActKey/TWAIN can use USB or a correctly configured network. No included wireless or native mobile route is established.
Supplies and declared yields
The exact device uses yellow, magenta, cyan and black toner with a color LED print engine. Starter and replacement yields are not established from the read original operating sections; none is borrowed from MC361 or MC562.
Software and support
The actual Americas basic table gives MC561dn a resident 4 GB SD card, unlike MC361dn. Windows PCL/PS Secure Print uses that card to hold a job until its password is entered at the panel. PCL XPS and Mac drivers explicitly cannot use this function. Encrypted Secure Print adds further old Windows 64-bit restrictions, which are not generalized to ordinary Secure Print.
Electrical edition and setup
The exact Americas support page identifies MC561dn part 62435801. The shared Americas manual lists both 110–127 V and 220–240 V versions without an exact part-to-voltage table; inspect the actual label. Body dimensions are 427 × 509 × 445 mm. Its 24 kg value lacks a clear consumable basis, so loaded mass remains unknown. Leave room for the feeder, trays, rear output and service access.
