A shared folder is a configured computer destination
The actual instructions describe creating a computer share and registering a destination profile with a host or IP address, folder and credentials. The scan screen then exposes color, scan-size and duplex settings. This supports an Ethernet workflow for Legal color originals scanned on both sides.
A USB memory destination is different from a computer folder. Direct USB computer scanning is also positively documented through ActKey and TWAIN, but it needs the scanner driver and its own event or application settings. Connecting a print cable alone does not complete that installation.
Choose the remote scan mode deliberately. Simple mode permits scanning while the machine is available; manual and secure modes require panel preparation or restrict the permitted computer. These controls affect how a shared office starts capture.
Printing duplex has its own paper rules

Separate Letter output from A4 and scan figures
The exact operating specification gives 31 pages per minute for Letter simplex, in both color and monochrome. It separately gives 30 for A4, and lower duplex print ratings. Its A4 simplex scan figures measure another operation altogether.
These distinctions matter for a job that alternates printing and scanning. None is an independent timing result, and none establishes a duplex capture rate. A maximum workload declaration from regional marketing also should not be substituted for a US recommended monthly interval.
Private Print and native AirPrint are distinct routes
The full driver can encrypt a private document and hold it in internal memory until its password is entered at the panel. This is a real job-release function, distinct from an administrator login. If insufficient memory prevents spooling, the document is not accepted.
The exact advanced manual also documents native AirPrint printing and Mac remote scanning. Those instructions do not establish every named paper, duplex or password control in the full desktop driver. This assessment keeps their capabilities separate when checking combined requirements.

The actual MC573 specification gives 31 ppm Letter simplex in monochrome and color, separately from 30 ppm A4. Duplex is 16 monochrome or 14 color pages/minute.
