Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a compatible Ethernet desktop print Letter from 251 suitable included positions and use the documented color feeder capture route when scan size is flexible?
Yes. The main Letter tray plus manual input provide that conditional capacity, and LAN computer capture through the 20-page feeder is documented. Named scan-size coverage is not implied.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the ordinary input provide 250 unattended Legal-sheet positions?
No. Legal uses the separate one-sheet manual input. The large main-tray count belongs to its supported ordinary sizes.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the feeder establish automatic two-sided scanning?
No. The actual source establishes ordinary feeder capture without establishing an automatic duplex or single-pass mechanism.

The Panasonic KX-MB2030 is an earlier monochrome laser MFP for wired computer printing, copying, color capture and fax. Its shared operating instructions also cover KX-MB2000 and KX-MB2010, making the model restrictions important. The MB2030 includes the document feeder and its own fax telephone connections; the simpler names on the same cover do not make every configuration interchangeable.
This is a practical reference for an office that can establish the actual desktop software and telephone arrangement. A network connector alone does not guarantee that a present computer can perform every historic scan function.
Legal paper is an attended one-sheet job
The ordinary tray holds Letter and A4, with a declared maximum of 250 sheets at the specified lighter weights. Panasonic reduces that count for heavier ordinary stock. The separate manual input takes one sheet, including Legal. Consequently, a large advertised input count should not be read as a large Legal-paper reserve.
The manual source also needs deliberate selection. The guide warns that, without the appropriate source setting, a multi-page job can take the first sheet from the manual input and later sheets from the main tray. Choose source #2 and supply successive sheets as directed when the entire job needs that manual route.
Automatic print duplex is not established in the read instructions. The paper chapter advises avoiding double-sided printing, so this assessment does not present a software layout control as an automatic duplex mechanism.
Color capture does not mean color printing
The scanner uses a color contact image sensor, while the printer produces monochrome output. Those are separate capabilities. The 20-page feeder is useful for suitable loose originals, and the glass gives an alternative for individually positioned material that should not go through the feeder.
The original-loading instructions distinguish the physical document range from the effective captured area. For computer scanning, effective length also depends on the selected software paper size. A generous physical loading maximum therefore does not by itself establish complete capture of every named sheet size.
The documented ordinary flatbed and feeder routes remain usable references when scan size is flexible. Automatic two-sided feeder capture and single-pass scanning are not established. Check both sides, orientation and saved page order for a two-sided original packet.
Configure a real computer destination
USB and 10/100 Ethernet are the documented computer interfaces. Push scanning explicitly selects USB HOST or a registered LAN computer, providing a positive computer-capture route on either arrangement with compatible Multi-Function Station software.
WIA is separately restricted to USB in the guide. Direct email, FTP and SMB destinations require their own network configuration. In particular, the original instructions identify security limitations in the SMB implementation. A modern shared folder should be assessed for compatibility before relying on it for records; successful network printing does not prove that folder capture works.
Inspect a saved representative document in the intended application. Historic Windows support names and an old installation disc do not promise a working driver or scan application on every current computer.
Check consumables and working space
The starter toner declaration is about 500 ISO/IEC 19752 pages, compared with about 2,000 for the named replacement cartridge. The drum is separate. Neither declaration is a monthly workload recommendation, and the unqualified print-speed headline is not converted here into a Letter-specific rate.
Allow the prescribed clearance around the body as well as original and paper access. Verify the US electrical label, actual consumables, feeding condition and any analog fax line before making this earlier MFP responsible for daily work.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The exact US guide declares approximately 24 ppm without identifying a Letter test condition. No Letter-specific rate, recommended monthly interval or maximum duty is assigned.
Paper handling
The main Letter/A4 tray holds 250 sheets at 60–75 gsm, 230 at 80 gsm or 200 at 90 gsm. A separate one-sheet manual input supports Legal as well as Letter/A4. Included total capacity is 251 suitable sheets, but Legal capacity is one. Select manual source #2 for successive manually supplied pages; the default sequence can take later pages from the main tray. Automatic duplex is not established; the paper chapter advises avoiding double-sided printing.
Scanning arrangement
The exact MB2030 includes a flatbed and 20-page ADF, with color CIS capture. USB and LAN computer destinations are explicitly documented. The guide distinguishes physical originals from effective scan area and makes computer scan length dependent on selected software paper size. Confirmed flatbed and simplex ADF routes retain unknown named-size coverage. No automatic two-sided or single-pass capture is established.
Computer and mobile connections
USB and 10/100 Ethernet are documented. Telephone and fax connections belong specifically to MB2030 in the shared MB2000/MB2010/MB2030 guide. Included Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and native mobile protocols are not established.
Supplies and declared yields
The supplied starter toner is approximately 500 ISO/IEC 19752 pages. KX-FAT461 replacement toner is approximately 2,000 pages under that standard, with a separate KX-FAD462 drum. Actual supplied consumables and service condition need inspection on an earlier unit.
Software and support
Compatible Multi-Function Station software supports USB HOST or registered LAN computer push scanning. WIA is explicitly USB-only; LAN email, FTP and SMB are separate configured destinations. The guide states that its SMB implementation lacks NTMLv2 and SMB signatures, so a present network requires compatibility review. No print-job PIN release is established by administrative credentials.
Electrical edition and setup
The US model specifies 120 V AC, 60 Hz and approximately 16 9/16 × 17 × 12 inches for the MB2030 body. Approximate mass is not explicitly a complete loaded measurement, so weight remains unknown. Allow at least four inches at the right, left and rear, plus space for paper and originals. Fax requires a suitable analog telephone connection.
