P3500DNIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

Compatible computer printing over USB or Ethernet when a separate paper path and automatic two-sided Letter, Legal or A4 output matter.

The main tradeoff

No built-in Wi-Fi, scanner, copy or fax. The low-voltage operating edition is documented, but a current US retail SKU and sustained monthly recommendation are not established.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the documented low-voltage edition automatically print two-sided Legal documents over Ethernet?

Yes, using compatible computer printing, plain supported paper and the original driver duplex setup.

Explore this need in the finder →
Does the exact DN configuration provide a built-in Wi-Fi route?

No. Its exact interface row lists USB and Gigabit Ethernet and explicitly says no Wi-Fi.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can its 80000-page duty cycle qualify a regular 10000-page month?

That maximum is not a sustained monthly recommendation. A confirmed recommended range for this operating edition is missing.

A wired document printer with a useful second paper path

The Pantum P3500DN is an earlier monochrome printer whose practical appeal is its combination of wired networking, automatic two-sided printing and a separate multipurpose feeder. It is a print-only model. There is no scanner, copy function, fax or document feeder for originals.

Our assessment concerns the documented 100–127V operating edition. The manufacturer's original guide includes US compliance information and a California responsible company, while the exact product reference distinguishes low-voltage and 220–240V versions. That does not establish a current US retail SKU, present availability or the condition of an individual machine.

310 sheets are standard; 1,410 needs extra drawers

The standard input arrangement combines a 250-sheet cassette with a 60-sheet multipurpose feeder. Those are real, separate paper paths, giving a documented total of 310 ordinary sheets. The 1,410-sheet maximum adds two optional 550-sheet drawers; neither extra drawer should be presumed present in a basic offer.

The original paper table lists Letter, Legal and A4 in the cassette and multipurpose feeder. Envelopes and other instructed special media go through the multipurpose path, with their own weight, loading and driver settings. A feeder's ordinary-paper capacity is not a promise that it holds the same number of thick envelopes.

Automatic duplex includes Legal under the stated conditions

The original operating instructions expressly list automatic two-sided printing on plain Letter, Legal and A4 paper, along with certain other named formats. They describe selecting long-edge or short-edge binding in the compatible Windows driver. This is an automatic paper-reversing mechanism, rather than a first pass followed by manual reloading.

That distinction matters for contracts and other Legal documents. The presence of Legal in a general paper-size list would not, by itself, establish Legal duplex; here the automatic-duplex section supplies the additional confirmation. The same permission does not extend to envelopes, unsupported heavy media or every custom-sized sheet.

The DN configuration stays wired

The exact interface row identifies USB and Gigabit Ethernet and says that Wi-Fi is not included. An Ethernet connection can serve compatible computers on a configured network; USB provides a direct computer route. Neither arrangement becomes a scanning workflow because the machine lacks scanning hardware.

The shared family guide also contains wireless instructions. They should not be used to turn this named DN model into a wireless printer. Native AirPrint, Mopria and PIN-release printing remain unconfirmed for this assessment. If a phone-specific protocol is essential, choose a model with that exact protocol documented, rather than relying on a generic network label.

Understand what the speed and volume figures describe

The manufacturer's declared one-sided rate is 35 pages per minute on Letter and 33 on A4. Those figures do not measure a complete application job, the first page from sleep or automatic two-sided output. PCL5e, PCL6XL, PS3 and PDF support may matter to an existing document workflow, but current computer and driver compatibility still needs checking.

The historical 80,000-page monthly figure is a maximum duty cycle. It is not a confirmed sustained monthly recommendation for this US operating edition. We therefore do not use it to qualify a routine 80,000-page workload or invent a lower recommended range.

Check the physical edition and consumables before buying

The documented body measures 370×370×286mm and weighs 9.4kg without the cartridge. Allow additional room for cables, paper handling and servicing; optional drawers change the installed height and weight. Check the actual supply label rather than treating the two regional voltage editions as interchangeable.

Country-dependent cartridge codes, replacement yields and an original starter declaration cannot establish the remaining toner or price per page in today's offer. The P3500DN makes sense when wired document output and its included multipurpose path fit the job. A smaller wireless alternative such as the P3302DW changes the connection and paper-handling tradeoff; a multifunction model is needed when scanning is part of the routine.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Manufacturer declares 35 ppm Letter and 33 ppm A4 for one-sided monochrome output; no complete-job or duplex speed measurement is claimed.

Paper handling

250-sheet cassette plus 60-sheet multipurpose feeder are included. Two 550-sheet drawers are optional, raising the configured maximum to 1410. The original guide expressly supports plain Letter, Legal and A4 automatic duplex; envelopes use the multipurpose feeder with their separate media settings.

Scanning arrangement

Dedicated monochrome printer, without scanner, original feeder, copy or fax hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Exact DN has USB and Gigabit Ethernet; its manufacturer interface row says no Wi-Fi. Wireless procedures in the shared guide do not add a radio to this configuration. Native AirPrint, Mopria and PIN-release printing are not confirmed here.

Supplies and declared yields

The exact reference lists country-dependent 3000/6000/10000-page replacement options and a declared 3000-page starter. Confirm the actual regional cartridge code and included toner in the offer; neither declared yield nor the historical starter establishes current page cost.

Software and support

PCL5e, PCL6XL, PS3 and PDF are listed. Check the current driver for the actual computer. The original automatic-duplex submission procedure uses the appropriate Windows driver and long-edge or short-edge binding.

Electrical edition and setup

Use the 100–127 V, 50/60 Hz, 8 A operating edition on an appropriate US supply, checking the actual rating label. The original guide identifies a California responsible company. A current US retail SKU has not been established. Body 370 × 370 × 286 mm and 9.4 kg exclude the cartridge; optional drawers and access space add to the installation.
