Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a base AP410N use Ethernet for monochrome Letter output with 600 included sheets?
Yes, under a compatible computer driver and the documented base paper arrangement.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the base configuration include automatic duplex?
No. The original model configuration lists the duplex unit as optional.
Explore this need in the finder →Is password-held print release ready without the optional disk?
No. The original brochure requires optional storage for that function.
Explore this need in the finder →A wired monochrome printer whose options need checking
The Ricoh Aficio AP410N is an earlier print-only monochrome laser printer. Its documented US configuration provides a substantial standard paper supply and an included wired network interface. The main buying distinction is between that supplied base and the additional hardware described throughout the family literature.
Check the full AP410N model name. The related AP410 has a different network configuration, while the larger AP610N supports a different paper scope. A shared source or similar cabinet does not make their controllers, paper paths and included accessories interchangeable.
Start with the included paper arrangement
The original model-specific specifications describe a 500-sheet cassette plus a 100-sheet bypass. That gives 600 included ordinary input sheets. Optional paper-feed units can enlarge the supply, but the expanded maximum belongs to a configured machine with those accessories fitted.
For a regular document routine, decide whether the base supply is adequate and which path will hold each stock. Envelopes need their instructed feed arrangement rather than an assumption that every ordinary cassette accepts a large envelope stack. An optional envelope feeder also changes the hardware required.
Automatic duplex is a separate installed option
The original configuration guide lists the AD450 duplex unit as an option. Its ability to fit the AP410N is therefore different from proof that the basic offered printer already contains it. Someone requiring unattended two-sided output should confirm the installed unit before purchase.
Matching the actual machine matters more than seeing duplex mentioned in a driver or a family brochure. Ask for a demonstration of the required paper size and job routine on the supplied configuration. A machine that can be upgraded is not automatically ready for that workload on arrival.
Password release also depends on optional storage
The original brochure describes holding a confidential print job until a password is entered at the control panel, with an optional hard disk required. The feature is useful only when the necessary storage and compatible software arrangement are actually present.
For that reason, the assessment of the base configuration does not promise PIN-release printing. Network passwords and user-management settings serve different purposes. They should not be substituted for a demonstrated held-job collection routine when the documents are sensitive.
Match the driver and connection to the computer
The exact controller documentation establishes standard USB and Ethernet for the AP410N, with additional legacy interfaces offered separately. Wireless support requires the appropriate option. It is not an included benefit merely because the controller can accept a wireless board.
The service material also identifies a genuine Adobe PostScript interpreter. That is more specific than an unspecified PostScript-emulation claim, but it still does not settle whether a particular modern application or operating system has a working driver. Verify the complete output routine before buying an older machine.
Check the space and service condition of the individual unit
The original documents describe a low-voltage US version and a body roughly 15 inches wide. They disagree about the closed depth with the standard tray, so use the actual installed machine when measuring a tight space. Optional paper handling, an extended tray and access to covers need additional room.
The declared paper-format speeds and cartridge figures describe original reference conditions. They do not establish the performance, remaining supplies or maintenance history of a particular used offer. Request a representative print and check suitable replacements rather than relying only on a low purchase price.
The AP410N fits a confirmed wired monochrome routine with the standard paper supply. Choose an upgraded offer only after its required duplex and storage accessories have been individually confirmed.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The exact service chapter gives 28 ppm Letter and 27 ppm A4. Duplex rates describe optional hardware and vary by source tray; no recommended monthly interval is promoted.
Paper handling
Included input is 500 main plus 100 bypass sheets for Letter/Legal/A4. The AD450 duplex unit and extra feeders are optional. Envelopes use the instructed bypass or separate optional feeder.
Scanning arrangement
This is a dedicated printer. It has no document scanner, automatic document feeder, copying or fax function.
Computer and mobile connections
AP410N/G113 includes USB, Ethernet and parallel, unlike AP410/G112. Other interfaces are optional, with one additional board permitted. Native mobile protocols remain unestablished.
Supplies and declared yields
The regional 15000-page replacement declaration uses stated A4 coverage. A starter kit is named without an established yield. Verify exact supplies and maintenance parts; no current-cost claim is made.
Software and support
The exact service chapter documents genuine Adobe/PCL/RPCS support. Password-held release requires optional disk storage. AP610N storage, rate and wide-paper specifications are not substituted.
Electrical edition and setup
The North American edition uses 120 V, 60 Hz. Width, height and mass are declared, but original included-tray depth values conflict, so depth remains unassigned. Tray extension/options add working space.
