Aficio CL3500N (documentedUS120Vconfiguration)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A verified compatible computer routine needing color documents and substantial base paper capacity.

The main tradeoff

Wireless is optional, and the supplied duplex configuration needs checking. This printer does not scan or copy.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can standard Ethernet combine color Legal output and 630 included ordinary sheets?

Yes. The personally read original paper-table symbols confirm Legal in both standard paths.

A legacy wired color printer with 630 included sheets

The Ricoh Aficio CL3500N is an earlier print-only color laser machine for a compatible computer routine. Its 530-sheet cassette plus 100-sheet bypass provides 630 ordinary input sheets, a useful distinction from smaller desktop machines with only a single modest cassette.

The documented US configuration uses 120V/60Hz. Before choosing an older offer, confirm the exact machine, working software and supplied accessories. A familiar Ricoh name or a security heading is not a substitute for the functions actually supported by the installed configuration.

Letter, Legal and A4 use the ordinary paper paths

The original inch-version paper table confirms Letter, Legal and A4 in both the main cassette and bypass. These are ordinary paper routes rather than an inference from a broad list of possible sizes. Control-panel size selection and paper direction still need to match the loaded sheets.

Envelopes use the bypass, while the table excludes them from the main cassette and optional paper-feed units. That practical distinction matters to someone regularly preparing mail. A general envelope capability label should not imply that every tray accepts the same materials.

Check the duplex unit in the actual supplied machine

The original maintenance guide describes the AD440 duplex unit in its options section and explains that it fits inside the machine. That establishes an accessory and its supported paper conditions, rather than independently settling what is supplied with a particular basic offer.

The assessment therefore does not promise base automatic duplex from this material alone. If two-sided output is essential, check that the correct unit is actually installed and supported by the intended driver. An internal option is still different from a confirmed included feature.

Choose standard USB or Ethernet before optional interfaces

USB computer printing and 100Mbps Ethernet are standard. Wireless LAN, Bluetooth, parallel and IEEE1394 are listed as options. They should not be treated as present merely because the controller can accept an upgrade.

Native AirPrint, Mopria and Wi-Fi Direct are not established by those legacy interfaces. The machine also does not scan or copy. A network management utility or a large loaded-paper capacity cannot supply missing multifunction hardware. Check the exact connection needed by the actual computer environment.

Match the driver and workload without inventing precision

The original maintenance guide declares 21ppm color or monochrome output on A4. That should not become a different Letter rate without an exact supporting specification. First-page timing and engine speed also describe different conditions rather than the completion time of a complete office job.

The source lists PCL, PostScript 3, RPCS and PDF support with 128MB standard memory and an optional higher ceiling. It does not independently establish a genuine Adobe interpreter or a precise private-PIN collection procedure here. Check those specific needs against the actual supported software and operating instructions before purchase.

Allow access and evaluate separate consumables

The closed printer measures 16.5 ×21.1 ×15.7 inches with the tray unextended, and is listed at 70.5 pounds including toner cartridges and the power cord. Extended paper handling and extra feed units change the working installation, so leave room for loading, cables and service access.

The original starter cartridges are declared at 2500 pages each. Replacement black, color and short-yield color cartridges have different stated capacities. Waste bottle, photoconductors and transfer unit are separate service items; a toner replacement does not renew the whole machine. Choose the CL3500N around confirmed wired color output and actual paper handling, while verifying supplies, accessories, software and the condition of the individual older printer.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The original maintenance guide gives 21 ppm A4 color/black, without a strict Letter rate. First-color/black times are separate; no sustained monthly recommendation is established.

Paper handling

Included input is 530 main plus 100 bypass sheets; original table symbols confirm Letter/Legal/A4 in both. Envelopes use bypass. The AD440 option description does not establish the actual supplied duplex configuration.

Scanning arrangement

This is a dedicated printer. It has no document scanner, automatic document feeder, copying or fax function.

Computer and mobile connections

Computer USB and Ethernet are standard. IEEE1394, wireless, parallel and Bluetooth are optional. Native AirPrint/Mopria/Direct remain unestablished.

Supplies and declared yields

Starter/replacement toner and separate waste, PCU and transfer yields use stated coverage/job conditions. C411 higher-yield figures are not substituted.

Software and support

Use the exact RPCS/PCL/PostScript/PDF driver arrangement. Original language-emulation wording is not a genuine Adobe claim. Precise private PIN release remains unestablished.

Electrical edition and setup

The original US edition uses 120 V, 60 Hz. Closed body: 16.5 × 21.1 × 15.7 inches, 70.5 lb with toner and power cord. Tray extension and additional paper units change the installation.
