SP 325SFNw (407983)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible USB or ordinary network routine needing automatic two-sided Legal original capture and monochrome printing.

The main tradeoff

The feeder reverses rather than scans both sides in one pass. Wi-Fi Direct computer scanning and native AirPrint are not established.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the SFNw combine ordinary Wi-Fi Mopria printing, Legal automatic print duplex and automatic reversing Legal color scanning?

Yes. The exact ordinary network, duplex paper path and 35-sheet reversing Legal feeder are documented together.

Is the SP 325SFNw feeder single-pass?

No. The documented mechanism is automatic reversing, which is different from single-pass capture.

Does Direct printing establish computer scanning over Wi-Fi Direct?

Not here. The documented Direct print route is separate from the USB/Ethernet/ordinary WLAN scanner interfaces.

A reversing feeder is the useful SFNw upgrade

The Ricoh SP 325SFNw is an earlier monochrome laser multifunction model with color scanning, copying and fax. Its important document-handling feature is a 35-sheet automatic reversing feeder that can scan both sides of supported originals up to Legal size.

This is the US SFNw configuration, part 407983. The SP 325DNw in the same brochure is print-only and has a different body and output capacity. The SFNw should be judged as the complete scanning machine, rather than as a family headline with every neighboring specification attached.

Automatic duplex scanning does not mean single-pass capture

The original brochure explicitly calls the feeder reversing and describes two-sided originals up to 8.5 × 14 inches. That supports a Legal automatic-duplex scanning requirement. It does not establish simultaneous single-pass capture of both sides.

The glass accepts originals up to 8.5 × 11.7 inches, covering Letter and A4. Use the feeder for full Legal originals. A long-document feeder does not enlarge the glass, and automatic printing duplex remains a separate paper path from original scanning.

The optical scanner declaration is 1200dpi. The larger 19200dpi platen-driver setting is a different setting, rather than evidence of extra physical sensor detail. The feeder has its own lower driver-resolution range.

Keep computer scanning on a documented connection

The scanner interface list explicitly includes USB, Ethernet and ordinary wireless LAN. Driver routes include Windows TWAIN/WIA, Mac TWAIN/ICA and Linux SANE under the stated original support environment. Check current exact-model support and configure the actual destination and permissions.

Wi-Fi Direct is also an included printing connection, but Direct computer scanning is not established by that general scanner-interface list. A user requiring both peer printing and scanning should not receive a result assembled from a Direct print feature and a different network's scanner route.

Mopria is documented; app pairing is a separate matter

The brochure names Mopria support for network printing. The ordinary Ethernet or Wi-Fi arrangement can therefore qualify that native protocol with the compatible setup. The Direct plan does not automatically inherit it without its own confirmation.

The Ricoh Smart Device Connector app and NFC pairing are additional descriptions, not evidence of native AirPrint. Fax uses a compatible G3 PSTN/PBX telephone arrangement. Neither application pairing nor a working scan-to-folder route makes every other communication mode available.

The two input stacks total 300 sheets

A 250-sheet cassette and 50-sheet bypass provide 300 included ordinary sheets. The exact duplex-size list includes Letter, Legal and A4 with suitable 60–105gsm paper. The wider one-sided weight range does not make every heavier sheet suitable for automatic duplex.

Envelopes and OHP media belong in the bypass path. The SFNw output holds 50 sheets, rather than the print-only DNw's 125. A long job can require clearing the output while plenty of input paper remains, so working access matters as much as the input headline.

Use the right speed, body and supply figures

The manufacturer declares 30ppm Letter one-sided printing and describes automatic duplex at less than 50 percent productivity. Multiple-original copying and color or monochrome scanning have their own rates and conditions. None should be substituted for the others when comparing a mixed document routine.

The US SFNw body is 15.9 × 15.5 × 15.9 inches and 37.5 pounds including the starter cartridge, using 120V/60Hz power. Allow feeder, lid, paper and service room. The original starter is 1000 pages and the listed SP 311HS replacement 3500 prints; check actual supplies and current software. Choose this model for supported network or USB Legal duplex scanning when a reversing feeder is acceptable, rather than expecting single-pass capture.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Declared one-sided Letter output is 30 ppm. Duplex productivity, multi-original copying and color/black scan image rates have separate conditions; no guaranteed 15 ppm duplex rate is inferred.

Paper handling

Included input is 250 main plus 50 bypass sheets. Letter/Legal/A4 duplex uses eligible 60–105 gsm paper; one-sided stock has a broader range. Envelopes use bypass.

Scanning arrangement

The 35-sheet Legal feeder reverses originals for automatic two-sided capture. Glass covers Letter/A4. Compatible USB/network scanner interfaces are documented; peer Direct computer scanning is unestablished.

Computer and mobile connections

USB, Ethernet, ordinary Wi-Fi and Direct printing are included. Mopria is documented for the ordinary network. Direct does not borrow network scanner or mobile-protocol support.

Supplies and declared yields

The original separates 1000-page starter and 3500-page SP311HS replacement. Cartridge yield does not establish remaining toner, current cost or maintenance-free ownership.

Software and support

Use exact compatible PCL/scanner software. Folder/FTP/email delivery is one destination per transmission; fax needs a compatible telephone setup. Private PIN release remains unestablished.

Electrical edition and setup

US SP325SFNw 407983 uses 120 V, 60 Hz, 7 A. Body: 15.9 × 15.5 × 15.9 inches, 37.5 lb including starter cartridge. Allow reversing-feeder, lid and service access.
