The 3500SF is the manual-duplex model in this pair

The Ricoh Aficio SP 3500SF is an earlier monochrome laser multifunction model for printing, copying, color scanning and fax. It includes a 35-sheet document feeder and standard USB and Ethernet connections. It can suit a supported wired document routine where both-side handling can be manual.

The exact US model is part 406967. The SP 3510SF in the same brochure adds a different reversing feeder and automatic printing duplex. Those are substantial workflow differences, so the two models should not produce identical questionnaire recommendations.

The ordinary feeder is different from a reversing feeder

The 3500SF's ADF holds 35 supported originals. The source explicitly contrasts it with the 3510SF's 50-sheet reversing feeder and limits automatic duplex copying to that model. The 3500SF should therefore not qualify an automatic two-sided original-capture requirement.

The glass supports Letter and A4, while the feeder supports Letter, Legal and A4 loose originals. A full Legal original belongs in the feeder rather than the shorter glass. ID-card copying is a useful layout function, but does not add automatic sheet reversal to the ordinary ADF.

USB and network computer scanning are documented

The scanner specification explicitly lists USB and Ethernet computer interfaces, TWAIN through USB or a network and WIA support. Color scanning is separate from monochrome printing. Install the exact compatible scanner driver and application for the actual connection.

The optical scanning specification is 1200dpi, while the larger 19200dpi driver figure is interpolated. Use the optical figure when comparing actual scanner detail.

Scan-to-email, folder, FTP and portable USB media are other listed destinations. They need their own destination and permission setup. Fax uses a separate G3 PSTN/PBX arrangement; a working network folder does not establish a compatible telephone fax line.

Included capacity is 300 sheets, with 550 requiring another drawer

The ordinary input consists of a 250-sheet cassette and a 50-sheet bypass. Both paths list the supported Letter, Legal and A4 routine. Envelopes use the bypass under the instructed loading conditions rather than an assumed automatic two-sided route.

An additional 250-sheet paper unit is optional and raises the expanded capacity to 550. It adds height below the machine. The maximum should not qualify a need for 500 included sheets unless the actual supplied configuration includes that hardware.

The controller and speed modes need exact interpretation

The controller includes 128MB of memory with PCL6 and PostScript3 emulation. A footnote says the controller can receive PCL5e commands even though that driver is not provided. Verify the current exact-model software and chosen print language rather than treating every family driver as interchangeable.

The manufacturer declares 30ppm/cpm output, with separate multiple-original copy and high-resolution print-mode conditions. The specific print row does not establish a Letter-conditioned rate, so a Letter-only speed requirement is not inferred from a separate copying figure. Locked Print is named, but its precise PIN collection routine is not established here.

Check physical fit and supplies before choosing an older offer

The 3500SF body measures 16.5 × 15.6 × 17.4 inches and weighs 38.5 pounds including consumables. It is shorter than the 3510SF. Leave working space for the feeder, lid, paper, cables and maintenance, and match the documented US 110–120V/60Hz electrical configuration.

The original starter is declared at 1500 pages, with 2500- and 6400-print replacement cartridges listed separately. Those yields do not establish remaining supplies or current cost. The 3500SF fits a compatible wired scan/copy/fax routine with 300 included sheets, provided automatic printing duplex, automatic two-sided original capture and included native mobile protocols are not essential.
