A useful fit for

A compatible wired office routine needing larger layouts and automatic two-sided 11 × 17-inch documents.

The main tradeoff

Private passcode collection needs the optional HDD. Wi-Fi and expanded 2100-sheet capacity require additional hardware.

A wide-paper LED printer with automatic Tabloid duplex

The Ricoh SP 6430DN is a monochrome LED printer with 600 included ordinary sheets and standard automatic duplex. It can suit a compatible office routine that needs wider spreadsheets, drawings or layouts alongside everyday Letter and Legal documents.

This assessment concerns the North American 120V configuration, part 407482. Unlike the older SP6330N, whose automatic duplex unit is optional, the 6430DN explicitly includes default automatic two-sided printing through 11 ×17-inch Tabloid. Similar wide-paper capability therefore does not mean identical included hardware.

Match the general paper range and duplex range separately

The standard input dimensions cover Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid. The duplex description specifically confirms sizes up to 11 ×17 inches with suitable 56–162gsm paper. That supports the ordinary Letter, Legal, A4 and Tabloid combination without assuming a wider A3 duplex permission from a general tray range.

The one-sided paper-weight range is broader, and the bypass accepts longer custom media. Neither means every heavy sheet, envelope or banner belongs in automatic duplex. Use the instructed media path and actual supported format rather than applying one maximum to every job.

The base input is 600 sheets;2100 requires three extra banks

A500-sheet main cassette and 100-sheet bypass are included. Up to three optional 500-sheet units explain the expanded 2100-sheet maximum. Confirm which units are actually supplied with an older offer before using the largest capacity in the buying decision.

The output holds up to 500 sheets. Even a large input configuration can therefore need clearing at the exit during a longer run. Each added paper bank also changes height and weight, so leave working access instead of checking only the closed mainframe dimensions.

Private passcode collection needs the optional disk

The source explicitly says Locked Print can hold jobs until a passcode is entered when the optional hard disk is installed. The listed disk is 250GB. A basic printer without it should not qualify an essential private-PIN collection requirement.

Included 512MB memory and its higher optional maximum are different from disk storage. Other advanced functions also have their own conditions: the listed Rotate Print feature requires the stated memory option. Confirm the actual fitted configuration and compatible driver rather than assuming every feature in a long brochure list is standard.

Use standard USB or Gigabit Ethernet deliberately

USB computer printing and Gigabit Ethernet are standard. Wireless LAN, a parallel interface and the USB Device Server are options. The device-server option adds another network interface; it should not be mistaken for an included wireless radio.

The Ricoh mobile app is listed, but native AirPrint, Mopria and Wi-Fi Direct are not established here. Genuine Adobe PostScript 3 is named alongside PCL and PDF Direct. Verify current exact-model software or the actual supported network route for the intended computer environment.

Keep workload and separate service items in perspective

The manufacturer declares 38ppm Letter monochrome output. A20000-print maximum monthly volume and 150000-print duty cycle are different figures, not a sustained recommended range. The Letter rate also should not become an invented A3 or Tabloid job time.

The body is 18.1 ×15.4 ×13.7 inches and 46.3 pounds. Match the 120V/60Hz label and allow wide-paper, cable and maintenance access. Starter toner, replacement toner, drum and maintenance kit have separate declarations; replacing toner does not replace every imaging component. Listed replacement toner, drum and maintenance-kit yields are 10000, 25000 and 90000 prints respectively, under their stated conditions. Choose the 6430DN for supported wired wide-paper output and included Tabloid duplex, while checking disk, radio and paper-bank options individually.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The North American declaration is 38 ppm Letter. Maximum monthly volume and 150000-page duty are separate, without an explicit recommended interval.

Paper handling

Included input is 500 main plus 100 bypass sheets. Standard paper supports Letter/Legal/A4/A3/Tabloid; automatic duplex is confirmed through 11 × 17 inches at 56–162 gsm. A3 duplex is unassigned.

Scanning arrangement

Dedicated monochrome laser printer without scanner, feeder, copy or fax hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Computer USB and Gigabit Ethernet are standard. Host/SD sockets serve other functions. Wireless, parallel and a secondary network interface are options; the named app does not establish native protocols.

Supplies and declared yields

The original separates starter toner, SP6430A replacement, drum and maintenance-kit yields. It is not the 6330N all-in-one architecture; no current-cost or remaining-life claim is made.

Software and support

The passcode-held workflow expressly requires the optional 250 GB HDD. Standard RAM does not substitute; rotation and additional interfaces have separate option conditions.

Electrical edition and setup

North American part 407482 has a 120 V, 60 Hz configuration. Body: 18.1 × 15.4 × 13.7 inches, 46.3 lb with inclusion basis unspecified. Optional banks/cabinet add size and weight.
