A color office printer distinguished by single-pass capture

The Ricoh SP C261SFNw is a color laser multifunction printer for a compatible small-office workflow. Its strongest practical distinction is the 50-sheet single-pass document feeder. Someone regularly handling two-sided loose originals has a different reason to consider it than someone who only occasionally copies a receipt on the glass.

This assessment concerns US part 408235. Similar-looking Ricoh color models use different feeders, controllers and toner families. Choose against the exact model and the functions actually needed, rather than treating a nearby model number as an interchangeable specification.

Match originals to the glass or single-pass feeder

The feeder accepts originals through 8.5 ×14 inches, covering Legal as well as Letter and fitting A4 sheets. The glass is identified for Letter and A4. Legal glass capture should not be assumed from a longer feeder limit; the two paths do different jobs.

Single-pass scanning matters when both sides of a stack are essential. It avoids the reversing mechanism used by some other machines, although the declared image rate still depends on scan mode. The source lists up to 40 monochrome or 24 color Letter images per minute. Those are scan declarations, not print speeds or a timed result for a complete document workflow.

Ordinary included input is 250 sheets, with a separate single-sheet path

The standard configuration includes a 250-sheet cassette and a one-sheet bypass. For a questionnaire asking how much ordinary paper can be left loaded, the useful bulk figure is 250. Adding the manual sheet to a headline total does not create another bulk drawer.

The 4.3-inch touchscreen offers a different working experience from a basic status display, but it does not remove setup requirements. Historical computer-driver versions and fax features still need compatibility checks. A discontinued cloud-printing service named in older literature should not become a present-day buying benefit.

The declared output rate is 21ppm Letter in either monochrome or color. The 1500 maximum monthly prints and 30000-print duty cycle are separate limits, rather than a stated recommended sustained range. Use the intended job pattern and service condition when evaluating an older machine.
