SP C262DNw (408137)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible modest color-document routine needing wireless printing and passcode collection, with flexibility about automatic-duplex paper size.

The main tradeoff

Scanner, copy and fax belong to SFNw. The 500-sheet expansion is optional, and exact-size duplex permissions remain unestablished.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can DNw combine ordinary Wi-Fi color printing, Mopria, passcode release and size-flexible automatic duplex?

Yes. Those exact printer features are documented. This does not confirm every paper-specific duplex combination.

Does the SFNw single-pass scanner also belong to DNw?

No. Scanner, copier, fax and single-pass feeder sections are expressly SFNw-only.

Does automatic duplex plus general Legal support establish automatic Legal duplex?

No. The exact paper-size duplex permission is not separately established in this source.

A wireless color printer, without the SF model's scanner

The Ricoh SP C262DNw is an earlier dedicated color laser printer with USB, Ethernet and ordinary Wi-Fi. Automatic two-sided printing and passcode-protected job collection are documented features. It is a different job combination from the SP C262SFNw multifunction model in the same brochure.

The scanner, 50-sheet single-pass document feeder, copying and fax belong to the SFNw. Shared brochure covers and scan-app descriptions should not add those functions to the DNw printer. This assessment concerns the North American 120V DNw configuration, part 408137.

The ordinary paper stack is 250 sheets

The standard arrangement combines a 250-sheet cassette with a single-sheet bypass. For bulk-input matching, we use the cassette's 250 sheets rather than treating an individual hand-fed sheet as another stack. The bypass remains a separate path for the instructed envelope or special-media routine.

A 500-sheet paper unit is optional. It explains the brochure's 751-sheet expanded headline when the single-sheet bypass is included, rather than establishing 751 ordinary sheets in the basic printer. The option's own supported-paper list and added installation space also need checking against the intended use.

Automatic duplex is included, with its own media condition

The original specification explicitly lists automatic duplex as standard and gives a suitable-paper weight condition of 60–90gsm. A broader one-sided paper-weight range does not extend the duplex permission to every heavier or special medium.

Letter, Legal and A4 one-sided printing fit the documented ordinary-paper arrangement, but this sheet does not separately list each size's duplex permission. The questionnaire therefore confirms automatic duplex when paper size is flexible, without treating the general size list as proof of every paper-specific two-sided combination. Check the operating instructions for the exact offered edition when a particular size is essential.

Use the documented Mopria network arrangement

The interface list includes USB, 10/100 Ethernet and ordinary wireless LAN. Mopria and the Ricoh Smart Device Connector printing app are named mobile options. The corresponding compatible device needs the appropriate configured network arrangement.

Native AirPrint is not established by this exact list, and Bonjour discovery is not a substitute for that protocol confirmation. An NFC tag or application-pairing description also does not establish a Wi-Fi Direct mode. The USB computer route should not inherit mobile protocols from a different network plan.

Passcode release is a specific documented collection feature

The brochure describes Locked Print requiring a four-to-eight-digit passcode before a job is released at the printer or MFP. That is useful when color or confidential documents should not be left unattended in the output tray. Confirm the actual compatible driver and administrator setup for the offered unit.

User-code restrictions and color-use controls are separate functions. Neither a general security label nor a mobile app should be treated as proof of every authentication workflow. The relevant positive here is the explicitly described passcode collection routine.

Keep workload, supplies and physical configuration model-specific

The North American declaration is 21ppm Letter in color or monochrome. The source separates a 3,000-print maximum monthly-volume figure from a 65,000-print duty cycle; it does not explicitly provide a sustained recommended range. Those figures should not be merged into a promise about regular heavy use.

The original starter declaration is 1,000 pages, with separately listed higher-yield replacement cartridges. Those names and yields do not establish remaining toner or current page cost. Check the actual unit body and paper-access space rather than using an unlabeled shared-family dimension row, and match the 120V, 60Hz edition before selecting an older offer.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The North American source declares 21 ppm Letter color/black. Its maximum monthly volume and maximum duty are separate figures; an explicit sustained recommended range is not assigned.

Paper handling

The ordinary cassette holds 250 sheets; bypass is individual. The optional 500-sheet drawer explains the 751-path headline. Automatic duplex uses 60–90 gsm stock, but exact Letter/Legal/A4 duplex permissions are not established.

Scanning arrangement

The DN is print-only. The single-pass scanner, copying, fax and shared scan-to-USB wording apply to the separate SFNw hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Computer USB, 10/100 Ethernet and ordinary Wi-Fi are listed. Mopria is explicit. Bonjour and NFC/app wording do not independently establish AirPrint, Wi-Fi Direct or peer computer scanning.

Supplies and declared yields

The original separates 1000-page starter toner, listed C252HA-compatible replacements and waste-toner capacity. Cartridge names do not change printer identity; no remaining-life or current-cost claim is made.

Software and support

The 256 MB PCL/PostScript-emulation printer has documented Locked Print: enter a 4–8-digit passcode at the device before release. No extra-storage prerequisite is stated; compatible drivers and network settings remain necessary.

Electrical edition and setup

Exact North American DN part 408137 specifies 120 V, 60 Hz, 11 A. The shared unlabeled body/weight row spans different frames, so precise DN body limits remain unknown. Check the actual unit and access space.
