Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the compatible USB setup print color Letter duplex with 350 included sheets at a declared six-page color Letter rate?
Yes with the exact SPL-C software and suitable ordinary paper. The Letter cassette and multipurpose tray provide 350 sheets together, and automatic duplex is documented. Six pages per minute is the separate one-sided color Letter declaration, not a measured duplex result.
Explore this need in the finder →Can standard Ethernet handle two-sided Legal documents with 100 Legal sheets and envelopes in separate jobs?
Yes with configured networking and compatible model software. The detailed guide permits suitable Legal stock for automatic duplex through the 100-sheet multipurpose path. Envelopes use their own loading and software settings and are not duplexed.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the color laser imaging unit scan a paper original to the computer?
No. The imaging components form the printed image inside a print-only device. There is no document scanner or original-capture route, regardless of the included Ethernet connection.
Explore this need in the finder →CLP-510N is a wired color printer with automatic duplex
The Samsung CLP-510N suits a compatible computer workflow that needs color documents and automatic two-sided printing. Ethernet is standard on this N version, alongside USB. The included 350-sheet input gives ordinary Letter or A4 jobs a useful paper reserve, provided both paper sources are loaded appropriately.
It is an earlier print-only model, so the practical decision starts with the actual unit, regional supplies and working software. Neither its color engine nor its network connection supplies the document scanner needed for copying or capturing paper originals.
Use the correct printer language and model suffix
CLP-510N uses Samsung's SPL-C language and includes 64 MB of memory. The adjacent CLP-550N has a different language and memory configuration. A shared product guide does not make PostScript software or the larger memory standard on every printer in the family.
The original USB procedure calls for compatible installed Windows printing software. For Ethernet, connect to the LAN and configure the printer's network parameters before establishing the host print queue. A network socket establishes hardware connectivity, while the software must still communicate correctly with the printer.
The guide includes period Macintosh and Linux routines as well. These historical lists help identify the intended systems, but they do not guarantee present driver availability. Confirm the exact software needed by the computer that will actually use the machine.
The 350-sheet total depends on paper size
The standard cassette holds 250 sheets of suitable Letter or A4 paper, and the multipurpose tray adds 100 on the stated ordinary-paper basis. Legal uses the multipurpose path. Its included capacity is therefore 100 sheets, even though the printer's overall headline is 350.
The detailed operating instructions permit automatic duplex for suitable Letter, Legal and A4 stock at 75–90 gsm. Choose paper source, size, type and binding together. Software settings override the control-panel defaults, so check the application settings when the output differs from the panel selection.
The extra 500-sheet drawer is an accessory. It should not be counted in the base configuration or assumed installed on a previously used unit. One-sheet manual feeding also uses the multipurpose path; it is not another independent paper store.
Envelopes and wireless need their own checks
Suitable laser envelopes go in the multipurpose tray only. Load them flap up, with the stamp-area end entering first, adjust the width guide lightly and select MP Tray, Envelope and the actual size in the software. Follow the stock and margin requirements rather than relying on a generic envelope setting.
Keep envelopes, labels, transparencies and thick stock out of the automatic duplex routine. A size fitting the path does not by itself make every material suitable for printing on both sides.
Wireless is optional on CLP-510N. The original drawings show an antenna, but the guide explicitly identifies the wireless card as a separately installed accessory. Standard Ethernet should not be read as included Wi-Fi or native phone printing.
Separate output rates from workload and supply life
The original guide specifies up to 25 one-sided Letter pages per minute in black, versus 24 for A4, and six color pages per minute. Duplex image rates are declared separately. The Korean launch headline does not name Letter, so it should not replace the more specific paper-size figures.
Standard supplied toner is declared at 3,000 black and 2,000 per-color pages under the stated coverage conditions; high-yield replacements have different capacities. The imaging unit, transfer belt and waste container also need separate maintenance. These declarations cannot show a used printer's remaining life.
The approximately 70.5-pound body needs a suitable surface and two-person handling. Leave space beyond its closed dimensions for trays, covers and ventilation, and check its electrical label. The monthly duty ceiling is not a recommended recurring workload or proof of sustained performance.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The original specifications distinguish up to 25 one-sided Letter pages/min in black from 24 A4, and 6 color pages/min for either size. Separate duplex declarations are up to 11.6 black or 6 color images/min in A4/Letter; those are not one-sided Letter rates. The Korean launch headline gives 24 black and 6 color without assigning a Letter size, so it does not replace the exact guide’s Letter declaration. The 35,000-black-page monthly duty ceiling does not establish recommended monthly volume.
Paper handling
The included configuration has a 250-sheet A4/Letter cassette and 100-sheet multipurpose tray, with capacity based on the original 75 gsm paper conditions. Letter and A4 can use 350 included sheets; Legal uses the 100-sheet multipurpose path rather than the cassette. The 500-sheet extra drawer is optional. Automatic print duplex supports suitable Letter, Legal and A4 stock at 75–90 gsm. Choose source, size, type, orientation and binding in the compatible driver, whose application settings override panel defaults. Suitable envelopes use the multipurpose tray only, up to ten under the stated conditions, flap up with the stamp-area end first, the guide lightly touching, and MP Tray, Envelope and actual size selected. Follow the construction and margin limits; special media must not use the duplex routine.
Scanning arrangement
This color laser device is print-only. It has no document scanner, glass, document feeder, copier or fax. The laser scanner unit and imaging drum inside the printing engine are not hardware for capturing originals. Generic regulatory fax text in a shared guide does not establish a fax function on this printer.
Computer and mobile connections
The exact CLP-510N includes USB 2.0 and 10/100Base-TX Ethernet. Direct Windows USB and configured Windows Ethernet printing are documented with the exact model software. Set network parameters after connecting to the LAN; a cable alone does not establish a usable print queue. The optional wired/wireless card is separate and is not counted as included Wi-Fi. The base CLP-510’s optional Ethernet and the CLP-550 family’s parallel interface are different configurations. Native AirPrint, Mopria and Wi-Fi Direct remain unconfirmed.
Supplies and declared yields
The exact guide and leaflet say the model ships with standard-yield toner declared at 3,000 black and 2,000 per-color A4/Letter pages at 5% coverage. High-yield replacements are declared at 7,000 black and 5,000 per color. Do not substitute the older CLP-500 family’s smaller starters or rename these coverage declarations a later ISO test. The imaging unit, transfer belt and waste toner container have separate maintenance lives. Verify regional supply codes, installed condition and actual remaining supply; no current cost or stock is established.
Software and support
CLP-510N uses SPL-C with 64 MB included memory and a documented 192 MB maximum using supported optional memory. The CLP-550N’s PostScript/PCL and 128 MB base must not be transferred to this model. Original software routines cover period Windows, Macintosh and Linux systems; historical compatibility is not a guarantee that current drivers exist. A Confidential watermark prints content on a page and does not establish PIN-held secure release.
Electrical edition and setup
The original guide and leaflet agree on a 510 x 470 x 405 mm body, approximately 20.1 x 18.5 x 15.9 inches, and 32 kg/70.5 lb including consumables. Those figures exclude the need for working clearance around covers, trays, ventilation and cables. The manufacturer instructs two-person lifting using the proper handles. The original power table explicitly separates 110–127 VAC USA/Canada at 50/60 Hz from 220–240 VAC editions. Check the unit’s actual electrical label and exact model identity before installation.
