CLP-600N/XAAIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

Compatible wired computer printing where color output and 350 included Letter/A4 input sheets matter more than automatic duplex.

The main tradeoff

Two-sided jobs require manual handling; Legal uses the 100-sheet multipurpose path, and wireless is a separate dealer option.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can compatible USB printing use 350 included Letter sheets for color documents with a declared 21-page Letter rate?

Yes for the documented one-sided computer workflow. Letter fits both the 250-sheet cassette and 100-sheet multipurpose tray. The original table declares up to 21 Letter pages per minute in color as well as black; this is not a measured result.

Can standard Ethernet print Legal documents with 100 Legal sheets and suitable envelopes in separate jobs?

Yes with configured TCP/IP and compatible model software. Legal and envelopes use the multipurpose path with their respective loading and media settings. The Legal ordinary-paper capacity is 100 sheets, while envelope capacity is separate.

Does the nearby brochure panel saying built-in duplex qualify CLP-600N for automatic two-sided Letter printing?

No. That comparison panel describes CLP-510. The exact CLP-600/600N specification table identifies duplex as manual, and the software instructions describe operator reinsertion where no automatic unit is present.

CLP-600N emphasizes color output rather than automatic duplex

The Samsung CLP-600N is an earlier wired color laser printer whose original specifications declare the same one-sided Letter rate for color and black: up to 21 pages per minute. That makes its intended role different from older color models with a much larger gap between their black and color declarations.

Its main limitation is equally important: the exact specification table identifies duplex as manual. Choose it only if operator-managed two-sided jobs are acceptable. An unattended automatic-duplex requirement should lead to a model whose included configuration expressly provides that function.

Read the exact model column in the family catalog

The catalog includes a comparison panel for CLP-510, with a built-in duplex claim and a different black/color speed pairing. Those nearby statements do not describe CLP-600N. The exact CLP-600/600N table is the relevant place to establish this model's included capabilities.

CLP-600N has standard Ethernet as well as computer USB. The base CLP-600 has a different network arrangement. A wireless card and antenna are optional items, so their appearance in a component drawing does not establish included Wi-Fi.

The reviewed printer uses SPL-C with 32 MB of non-expandable memory. Do not borrow another Samsung family's PostScript, PCL or expandable memory. Before depending on an older machine, confirm that the actual computer can run the exact model's compatible printing software.

Keep Legal input separate from the 350-sheet headline

The included 250-sheet cassette accepts suitable Letter or A4 ordinary paper. The multipurpose tray adds 100 sheets on the stated capacity basis, giving those sizes a combined 350 sheets. Legal uses the multipurpose path, so its included ordinary-paper capacity is 100 sheets.

The optional extra 500-sheet drawer is separate from the base configuration. A previously used printer may or may not have that accessory. The one-sheet manual-feed routine also uses the multipurpose path; it is not another paper store to add to the total.

For a permitted manual two-sided job, compatible Windows software prints alternate pages first and then displays instructions for reinserting the stack. Follow that prompt and the permitted paper conditions. The second pass still requires the operator even when the driver offers a double-sided setting.

Configure the network and special media deliberately

The original network installation procedure requires the printer's TCP/IP settings to be assigned and verified before installing the software on each computer. Establish a working print queue for the exact model rather than assuming that any printer visible on the LAN has the same driver features.

Suitable laser envelopes go only in the multipurpose tray. Load them flap up with the stamp-area end entering first, adjust the guide without bending the stack, and select the correct source, Envelope type and actual size. Their capacity and construction limits are separate from the ordinary-paper allowance.

A printed Confidential watermark is page content rather than evidence of PIN-held release. Similarly, Ethernet does not by itself establish native phone printing. Confirm any specialist service needed by the actual workflow.

Plan supplies, access and document jobs realistically

This is a print-only machine. It has no document glass, feeder, copier or fax. Its internal laser scanner and imaging components create printed pages rather than capture originals. Someone needing scans or copies requires different hardware.

The supplied toner declarations are smaller than the replacement declarations, and the transfer belt and fuser are separate maintenance items. Verify regional supplies and actual component condition. Manufacturer yields cannot establish present running cost or remaining life.

The body needs a suitable surface, two-person handling and clearance beyond its closed dimensions. Original sources disagree in their printed pound equivalents, so avoid a tight weight-limit assumption. Check the actual electrical label, and treat the monthly duty ceiling separately from an unconfirmed recommended workload.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The exact original specifications declare up to 21 one-sided Letter pages/min in either black or color, compared with 20 A4. The nearby 24-black/6-color comparison in the same brochure describes CLP-510, not CLP-600N. These are manufacturer declarations rather than measured results. The 35,000-page maximum monthly duty figure does not establish recommended sustained volume.

Paper handling

The included ordinary-paper input is a 250-sheet Letter/A4 cassette plus a 100-sheet multipurpose tray at the original 75 gsm basis. Letter and A4 can use all 350 sheets; Legal uses the 100-sheet multipurpose path and does not fit the listed cassette sizes. The additional 500-sheet drawer is optional. Exact catalog specifications identify duplex as manual, so automatic two-sided printing is not included. Compatible Windows manual duplex prints alternate pages first, then requires operator reinsertion following the Printing Tip window. Suitable laser envelopes use the multipurpose tray only, up to ten under the stated conditions, flap up and stamp-area end first. Select the actual source, Envelope type and size and follow the construction/margin limits. Do not duplex envelopes or other special media.

Scanning arrangement

This is a print-only color laser device with no document scanner, glass, feeder, copier or fax. The internal laser scanner and cartridge imaging components belong to the print engine and do not capture paper originals. Neither color printing nor Ethernet changes the document jobs the hardware can perform.

Computer and mobile connections

CLP-600N includes computer USB 2.0 and 10/100Base-TX Ethernet. Compatible installed Windows model software supports the reviewed direct USB and configured Ethernet printing arrangements. For network installation, assign and verify TCP/IP settings before installing the printer on each host. The base CLP-600 has a different network configuration. Wireless networking is a separately installed dealer option on the N model and is not counted as included Wi-Fi. Native AirPrint, Mopria and Wi-Fi Direct remain unconfirmed.

Supplies and declared yields

The original specifications distinguish 2,000-page supplied black and per-color toner cartridges from 4,000-page black and per-color replacement declarations on the stated A4/Letter 5% coverage basis. Do not transfer the CLP-510 family’s yields or rename these declarations a later ISO test. The paper transfer belt and fuser are separate maintenance items with their own stated lives and conditions. Confirm the exact regional supply markings and actual installed condition; remaining toner, current stock and running cost are not established.

Software and support

The exact CLP-600N uses SPL-C and has 32 MB of non-expandable memory in the reviewed manufacturer specifications. Another family’s PCL, PostScript or larger RAM must not be substituted. A paper tray upgrade does not expand memory. Original software chapters cover period computer systems; those lists do not guarantee that current model drivers remain available. A printed Confidential watermark does not establish PIN-held job release.

Electrical edition and setup

Original sources give the closed body as 465 x 465 x 445 mm, approximately 18.3 x 18.3 x 17.5 inches. They agree on 28.5 kg including consumables but disagree in their printed pound equivalents: the catalog gives 62.83 lb and the guide gives 64 lb. A precise weight-limit value is therefore unassigned. Follow the manufacturer’s two-person lifting instructions and leave working clearance for trays, covers, ventilation and cables. The guide explicitly identifies the 110–127 VAC, 9 A, 50/60 Hz USA/Canada edition and a separate 220–240 VAC edition. Verify the actual rating label.
