The Samsung CLP-610ND is an earlier print-only color laser printer with automatic two-sided printing and standard Ethernet. Its useful distinction for longer documents is the main cassette: the original loading procedure explicitly extends it for Legal paper, rather than reserving Legal entirely for a small multipurpose path.
With suitable ordinary paper, Letter, Legal and A4 can each use the included 250-sheet cassette plus 100-sheet multipurpose tray. That gives a 350-sheet base input arrangement. It is a practical fit for compatible wired computers producing two-sided color documents, subject to the actual unit's condition and working model software.
ND establishes duplex, while nearby variants have different features
The family leaflet identifies automatic duplex as built in on CLP-610ND. Its CLP-660N neighbor has a different arrangement, and CLP-660ND has a different speed and language specification. Read the exact model rather than transferring every feature on a shared page.
CLP-610ND includes 128 MB of memory and supports SPL-C/PCL printing, with a documented 384 MB maximum using appropriate optional modules. The neighboring model's PostScript and larger memory ceiling do not belong to this configuration.
The broader product guide also describes hard-drive and confidential-print solutions for other arrangements. Those descriptions do not establish PIN-held release here. A printed watermark or password-protected management page is different from holding an actual print job for release at the machine.
Set the paper path and driver together
To use Legal in the main cassette, extend the tray with its lever and adjust the length and width guides to the paper. Avoid bending the stack with an overly tight guide, then select the correct size in the computer software.
The original duplex media table expressly lists Letter, Legal and A4. Its row and footnote differ on the upper weight allowance, so the reviewed routine stays within their shared 75–90 gsm range. Choose source, type, size and long- or short-edge binding together. Application driver settings override the control-panel choices.
The optional 500-sheet drawer raises an installed maximum but is not included in the base 350 sheets. Confirm whether it is actually fitted before planning a larger unattended batch. Automatic duplex also does not make every special material suitable for a second pass.
Ethernet setup and envelopes require separate attention
USB and Ethernet are standard computer connections. Install compatible software for the exact model. For Ethernet, configure the network parameters and identify the printer's address before creating the host queue; the original guide describes a network report and TCP/IP setup.
Historical computer compatibility lists are useful context, but they do not promise that current drivers remain available. A generic family wireless discussion should not become included Wi-Fi on this model, and network access alone does not establish a native phone-printing service.
Suitable envelopes use the multipurpose path with the flap up and stamp area at the bottom right. Adjust the guides lightly and select the actual source, type and size. Follow the construction and margin conditions, and keep envelopes out of the duplex routine.
Assess output, maintenance and installation limits
Samsung declares up to 21 one-sided Letter pages per minute in either black or color, compared with 20 A4. The guide gives a separate duplex image rate. These are manufacturer declarations, and the monthly duty ceiling is different from a recommended recurring workload.
Standard and high-yield toner declarations differ, and the supplied configuration can vary. Check the regional cartridge codes, transfer belt and actual remaining supplies. Declared life cannot establish current running cost or a used machine's condition.
This printer has no document scanner, copier or fax. Plan separate hardware if original capture is essential. Its substantial body also needs working clearance for the extended Legal cassette, covers and cables; verify a tight installation directly because original editions differ slightly on depth and height.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The exact CLP-610 specifications declare up to 21 one-sided Letter pages/min in black or color, compared with 20 A4. The guide separately declares up to 9.86 duplex images/min in A4/Letter; that is not a one-sided Letter page rate. The CLP-660 family’s 25 Letter/24 A4 rates are separate. The 65,000-page monthly duty ceiling does not establish recommended sustained monthly volume.

The included configuration has a 250-sheet cassette and 100-sheet multipurpose tray at the original 75 gsm basis. The media table covers Letter, Legal and A4 in these paths, and the actual loading procedure explicitly extends the main cassette for Legal. Each can therefore use 350 included ordinary-paper sheets; the extra 500-sheet drawer is optional. CLP-610ND includes automatic duplex for suitable Letter, Legal and A4 paper. Scanning arrangement
This is a print-only color laser printer with no document scanner, glass, automatic document feeder, copier or fax. The family brochure’s unrelated fax-product paragraph and the laser engine’s scanner assembly do not establish paper-original capture or fax functions. A color print engine is separate from a color scanner.
Computer and mobile connections
Standard computer connections are USB 2.0 and 10/100Base-TX Ethernet. The reviewed Windows USB and configured Ethernet arrangements use the exact compatible model software. For Ethernet, set the network parameters and identify the correct IP address or network report before installing the host queue. Static TCP/IP and DHCP/BOOTP are documented. A generic family discussion of wireless options does not establish an included Wi-Fi arrangement for CLP-610ND. Native AirPrint, Mopria and Wi-Fi Direct remain unconfirmed.
Supplies and declared yields
The original user guide separates standard-yield declarations of about 2,500 black and 2,000 per-color pages from high-yield declarations of about 5,500 black and 5,000 per-color pages, under its ISO/IEC 19798 declaration. It notes that supplied configuration can vary, so starter contents should be checked for the actual regional unit. The transfer belt is a separate maintenance item with its own stated life. Verify actual cartridge codes, installed state and remaining supply; these declarations do not establish current stock, price or running cost.
Software and support
CLP-610ND includes 128 MB of memory, expandable to a documented 384 MB with suitable optional modules, and supports SPL-C/PCL printing. The CLP-660 model’s PostScript support and 640 MB maximum belong to a different variant. Generic guide instructions for activating a PostScript printer driver apply only to a compatible model. Electrical edition and setup
The original user guide gives a 432 x 432 x 424 mm body without the optional tray and 25.6 kg/56.44 lb including consumables. Service editions give a different 426 mm height and one gives 428 mm depth, so exact depth and height are unassigned; approximate width is 17 inches. Packaging weights are separate. Extend the cassette correctly for Legal and allow extra access for covers, trays, ventilation and cables. The exact XAA service table documents 110–127 VAC at 50/60 Hz and a separate 220–240 VAC edition. Check the actual rating label.
