CLX-4195FW (reviewed US configuration)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible small office that wants color documents and registered computer scanning while accepting manual two-sided paper handling.

The main tradeoff

The print engine and feeder do not automate two-sided jobs, NFC is absent in the exact model table, and old software needs compatibility checks.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can Ethernet operation print color and scan one-sided Legal originals to a computer?

Yes after installing compatible MFP scanner software and registering the Network PC destination. The feeder supports suitable Legal originals and color capture, while the cassette holds 250 ordinary sheets on its specified basis. Fax also needs a telephone line.

Can a Wi-Fi computer arrangement use both glass and feeder when the original size is flexible?

Yes with the compatible scanner program, enabled scan activation and a registered computer. Both physical routes are documented. A particular glass-size requirement needs confirmation because the reviewed original sections do not establish its full dimensions.

Explore this need in the finder →
Can the automatic feeder capture both sides without the user turning the originals?

No. The exact configuration has a one-sided ADF. Two-sided scanner features in the shared guide belong to other models and do not make this feeder a duplex scanner.

Start with the document sides your office actually handles

The Samsung CLX-4195FW brings color laser printing, copying, scanning and analog fax together with a touchscreen and built-in wireless networking. The reviewed US configuration also includes USB and Gigabit Ethernet, so a compatible computer can use a direct or network arrangement.

Its main practical limit is two-sided handling. The US brochure calls print duplex manual with guidance, and the exact user-guide table identifies a one-sided automatic document feeder. It suits single-sided correspondence and occasional operator-assisted duplex work more naturally than a daily stream of two-sided originals.

The large feeder is not a duplex scanner

The feeder holds up to 50 suitable originals on the guide's 80 gsm basis. Its documented size range reaches 216 by 356 mm, accommodating suitable Letter, Legal and A4 documents within the capture margins. Load the aligned stack face up and adjust the width guides.

Automatic capture of both original faces is absent in the CLX-419xFW column. A two-sided scan menu elsewhere in the shared guide is restricted to different configurations. If both faces matter, plan a careful manual capture and reordering process or choose hardware with the required automatic route.

Use the glass face down for an individual original and remove originals from the feeder first. The guide gives feeder documents priority. A physical glass route is clear, but the complete glass dimensions are not established in the original sections reviewed here. Confirm the required image area for a particular glass original rather than assuming Legal support from the feeder specification.

Keep computer and mobile scanning arrangements distinct

The documented computer workflow requires compatible MFP software. For USB, choose Local PC and enable scanning in Easy Printer Manager. Network operation requires a registered receiving computer; select its ID and enter its configured password when requested. Printing successfully does not prove that this scanner destination is ready.

The original guide supports TWAIN locally or across the network, while its WIA routine requires direct USB. USB memory scanning and an email destination have separate setup and file handling. Direct FTP and SMB entries in the shared guide should not be assigned here: the exact feature table reserves those for other models.

AirPrint is positively listed and uses a compatible local network with Bonjour/mDNS and IPP enabled. The related C145x and C186x devices have the table's NFC qualification; the CLX-4195FW does not. The color touchscreen also does not prove that every Document Box or protected-print feature described for larger machines is included.

Manual duplex needs attention at the paper tray

The cassette accepts 250 suitable ordinary sheets at the specified 80 gsm basis, including Letter, Legal and A4. Its one-sheet manual path is attended, so it should not be treated as a second unattended paper supply. Expansion drawers listed for the 626x family do not increase this configuration's base capacity.

For manual two-sided printing, the compatible Windows driver prints one set of sides and prompts the user to reload the stack through the main tray. Follow the orientation and order instructions. There is no automatic paper-turning unit to complete that step.

Envelopes and other special media have narrower stock and loading conditions. Match the printer and driver settings, use the proper feed path, and feed individual sheets when required. Ordinary-paper capacity and manual duplex guidance do not apply unchanged to every material.

Check the earlier unit before committing space or supplies

The declared 19 one-sided Letter pages per minute applies to black and color printing. It is separate from scan throughput, and the 40,000-page duty ceiling is not a recommended monthly workload. The analysis makes no hands-on performance claim.

US initial toner declarations are 1,000 black pages and 700 per color, with larger 504S replacement declarations and a separate waste container. Check regional supply markings, electrical rating and actual scanner operation. Published body dimensions differ between original documents, so measure the particular unit and allow maintenance clearance before placing it in a tight space.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The original US declaration is up to 19 one-sided Letter pages/min in black and color. Copying from multiple originals and scanning at different resolutions are separate jobs with their own limits. The 40,000-page monthly duty ceiling is not a verified recommended monthly workload. The review does not report measured quality, throughput or running cost.

Paper handling

The US original specifies a 250-sheet cassette and one-sheet multipurpose/manual path. The guide gives suitable Letter, Legal and A4 ordinary stock 250-sheet cassette capacity at 80 gsm, with attended single sheets through the manual feeder. The unattended ordinary-paper capacity is 250 rather than 251. Manual duplex is Windows driver guidance through tray 1, requiring the user to refeed; there is no automatic print duplex unit. Envelopes require their supported 75–90 gsm stock, smaller capacity and loading conditions. The optional 520-sheet drawer belongs to 626x configurations, not this one.

Scanning arrangement

The exact CLX-419xFW table specifies an ADF, with the DADF and automatic duplex scan columns blank for this configuration. It supports a batch of 50 suitable originals at 80 gsm, within 142–216 mm width and 148–356 mm length. Letter, Legal and A4 fit the feeder range within image margins. Originals face up in the feeder and face down on glass. The original sections read establish the glass route without its complete dimensions, so no glass-size claim is made. Clear the feeder before glass scanning, since feeder originals receive priority.

Computer and mobile connections

The exact US brochure includes USB, Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct and front USB memory access. Compatible Windows computer scanning is documented over USB and the network. Install MFP scanner software, enable scanning, and register the receiving computer ID and configured four-digit password for Network PC. The guide distinguishes local/network TWAIN from WIA requiring direct USB. Ordinary fax uses its own compatible telephone LINE connection; wireless printing does not create that telephone service.

Supplies and declared yields

Initial US supplies are declared at 1,000 black pages and 700 pages each for cyan, magenta and yellow. Replacement CLT-K504S is 2,500 pages; C504S, M504S and Y504S are 1,800 pages each under ISO/IEC 19798. CLT-W504 is a separate waste-toner container. Match regional identifiers and inspect actual supplies; nominal replacement yields do not show how much remains in an earlier machine.

Software and support

The CLX-4195FW has a 4.3-inch color touchscreen, but the exact family table reserves NFC for C145xFW/C186xFW. An NFC claim from a related Xpress device is not assigned here. The AirPrint table and operating procedure positively support compatible local-network printing with Bonjour/mDNS and IPP enabled. Mopria is not established. Generic secure-print/RAM Disk procedures have model and storage conditions, while Document Box in the touchscreen menu table is specifically for 626xFW. A complete included PIN-held print arrangement is left unestablished.

Electrical edition and setup

The US brochure gives 16.5 x 16.8 x 17.6 inches, whereas the later shared guide gives 17.64 x 16.42 x 16.65 inches for the 419x family. Body dimensions are left unestablished because those values do not agree beyond rounding. The 47.3 lb US unit weight agrees approximately with the guide's 21.44 kg including consumables and differs from the 55.6 lb shipping carton. The guide lists separate 110–127 V and 220–240 V editions but refers frequency/current to the actual label; no universal mains compatibility is asserted.
