CLX-6260FDIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

Compatible wired office printing and color paper capture when original batches are mainly single-sided.

The main tradeoff

The FW version’s automatic two-sided feeder and built-in radio are not included in this FD configuration.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can it automatically duplex color Legal printouts and scan single-sided Legal originals over Ethernet?

Yes, with supported paper, configured compatible print/scan software and the documented feeder route.

Output duplex and input scanning are different decisions

The Samsung CLX-6260FD is an earlier color multifunction machine with automatic two-sided printing and a one-sided document feeder. That combination can suit an office that prints reports on both sides but mainly receives single-sided originals for capture.

The CLX-6260FW has a different feeder. Do not assume the FD automatically turns incoming originals because a shared brochure mentions duplex or because finished printouts can be two-sided. Those are separate paper paths.

The 50-sheet feeder handles suitable ordinary originals

The documented feeder holds up to 50 sheets under the stated ordinary-paper conditions, with Letter, Legal and A4 within its supported size range. Remove fasteners and prepare the stack according to the loading instructions before starting a batch.

The glass is available for originals that need individual placement. A feeder’s maximum length does not establish the glass’s supported capture area. Confirm the route for the actual document rather than selecting only by the largest paper size in a family specification.

If two-sided incoming paperwork is frequent, consider the repeated manual handling it would require on the FD. A documented automatic two-sided feeder can be more valuable for that workload than a small difference in declared print speed.

Set up the destination as well as the scanner

USB and Ethernet provide the supplied computer paths. Local Scan to PC needs compatible software and the appropriate device-panel scanning setting. Network PC scanning also requires the scanner installation, a registered destination and the correct enabled settings.

Sending to a network folder is a separate configured route. The operating guide requires a reachable server, appropriate share permissions and the saved destination information. A successful network print does not by itself prove that the scan destination is ready.

Test a complete representative scan: correct original size, color choice, file format, page order and final destination. A file appearing somewhere on a computer is less useful than a repeatable routine the office can use without searching for it each time. Agree the destination and file naming with the people who will retrieve those documents later in the day.

Ordinary printing starts with 300 supplied sheets

The standard paper supply combines a 250-sheet cassette and a 50-sheet bypass. An optional second cassette adds 520 sheets. Verify the actual accessory before relying on the larger expandable capacity in a listing.

Automatic printing supports the documented ordinary sizes under their specified conditions. Check the binding and full layout using a short sample. Specialty stock and envelopes need their own instructed route rather than being treated as ordinary duplex paper.

Confidential printing depends on the configured desktop routine

The original guide describes enabling RAM Disk, selecting confidential mode in a supported driver and entering the job password at the device. Complex documents may need additional memory. Confirm those settings and test holding and releasing a real job if confidentiality is important.

This is different from an ordinary connection password or secure fax reception. Fax also needs its own compatible analog telephone connection and configuration. Ethernet carries network traffic; it is not a substitute for that telephone line.

Where the FD fits

The declared color and monochrome Letter rates are the same, but remain manufacturer engine figures rather than our timing results. Assess the whole routine, including scanning destinations, refills and output collection, against the work the office actually repeats.

Check the exact model, electrical plate, supplies, feeding and representative color output. Leave room for opening the feeder and covers. Choose the FD for compatible wired color work and single-sided original batches; compare the FW or another configuration when automatic two-sided capture or an included radio is essential.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Declared 25 Letter mono/color ppm, not measured completion time.60000 monthly duty is maximum, not recommended recurring volume.

Paper handling

250-sheet cassette plus 50-sheet bypass supplied, optional 520-sheet cassette needed for 820 total. Ordinary Letter/Legal/A4 and corresponding automatic duplex documented with proper stock. Envelopes need exact designated loading/type instructions, not duplex.

Scanning arrangement

Exact FD has 50-sheet simplex ADF, not FW DADF. Legal, Letter, A4 originals fit the supported feeder range; glass present but exact size range unestablished here. Color scan supported. Automatic output duplex does not turn the input originals.

Computer and mobile connections

USB and Gigabit Ethernet supplied; no built-in FW WiFi/Direct borrowed. Basic USB Scan to PC uses enabled device-panel scanning and compatible software; Network PC needs scanner driver, registered computer and enabled settings. WIA is Windows USB only, TWAIN can use local/network. FTP/SMB destination needs configured network/server/address-book credentials, not an unconfigured folder shortcut.

Supplies and declared yields

Original US black 2,000 / 6,000 and each color 1,500 / 3,500 replacement yields, ISO/IEC 19798; separate CLT-W504 waste bottle. No installed remaining-life or current-price claim.

Software and support

512 MB standard, max 1 GB; no FW 4 GB flash assumed. Actual confidential driver mode and RAM Disk enablement support password-held jobs; optional extra memory may be required for complex files. Desktop plan assumes those settings, not mobile or every driver.

Electrical edition and setup

Earlier US exact FD configuration. Fax needs a separate compatible analog line and configured fax settings; network is not the telephone line. Verify electrical plate and supported current driver/application. Allow feeder/cover/cable access beyond closed body.
