CLX-6260FWIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

Compatible offices needing shared color printing and automatic capture of ordinary two-sided paperwork.

The main tradeoff

The feeder is not confirmed as single-pass; scan destinations, phone fax and confidential jobs each need their own setup.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can it duplex color Legal printouts and capture two-sided Legal originals over configured WiFi?

Yes, using compatible print/scan software and the documented DADF route.

Is its automatic feeder confirmed as single-pass?

No. Two-sided capture is documented, but this mechanism is not established as single-pass.

Does the supplied setup hold 820 ordinary sheets?

No. That total requires the optional 520-sheet cassette.

The FW is the version to compare for two-sided originals

The Samsung CLX-6260FW is an earlier color multifunction model with a document feeder that automatically captures both sides of suitable originals. This differs from the CLX-6260FD’s one-sided feeder, even though both models can print two-sided output.

That distinction is useful when incoming contracts or forms routinely have information on their reverse sides. Automatic original handling can reduce repeated manual turning. It should not, however, be described as single-pass unless that specific mechanism is established.

Plan the original-handling route around the documents

The documented feeder holds up to 50 sheets under the stated ordinary-paper conditions, with Letter, Legal and A4 in its supported range. Prepare suitable originals, remove fasteners and check the stack before starting.

The glass remains useful for individual originals that need careful placement. Do not apply a feeder’s maximum length to the glass without checking the actual capture area. A long original and a fragile original may require different routes even if they belong to the same task.

Run a short two-sided sample and inspect page order, rotation, color and the final file. An automatic feeder is valuable when it produces the complete document in a routine people can repeat, rather than merely moving sheets through the machine.

Wireless printing does not complete scan setup

The FW includes USB, Ethernet and wireless, with a supported WiFi Direct arrangement for compatible clients. Choose the ordinary office connection around the computers and router you actually use. Verify current driver and application support for this earlier equipment.

Local and network computer scanning need the corresponding scanner installation and enabled destination settings. The original guide distinguishes Windows USB WIA from other supported scanning routes. Do not assume a successful print job means every scanning application or peer connection is configured.

For folder delivery, the server address, permissions, account and saved path must be correct. Test the actual current server arrangement before relying on older network instructions. Email and telephone fax have their own separately configured destinations and connections.

The paper supply starts with two sources

The standard setup includes a 250-sheet cassette and a 50-sheet bypass. A second 520-sheet cassette is optional. Check what the offered unit includes before using the larger expandable total to plan unattended work.

Automatic print duplex supports the documented ordinary sizes under their media conditions. Binding, covers and mixed orientations still deserve a sample check. Envelopes and other specialty stock use their instructed routes rather than becoming duplex media simply because they fit somewhere in the printer.

Storage and confidential jobs are part of the configuration

The FW has a different control and storage package from the FD, including the touchscreen and supplied flash storage. The operating guide describes supported confidential driver jobs and password release at the machine. Check the exact settings and installed memory when using that workflow.

Test that a submitted document stays held and releases only through the intended procedure. A WiFi connection password and a confidential print password serve different purposes. Neither should be substituted for the other when assessing how an office handles sensitive output.

Where the CLX-6260FW fits

This model is a useful comparison when compatible shared color output and automatic two-sided paper capture both matter. The declared print rate is a manufacturer figure, not our timing result; the complete routine includes scanning, destinations, refills and collecting finished work.

Inspect the exact model and electrical plate, feeding, two-sided scans and representative color output. Check all installed supplies and leave room to open the feeder and covers. Choose another configuration when a proven single-pass scanner, different media route or unsupported present software requirement is essential.

Paper handling

250-sheet cassette plus 50-sheet bypass supplied, optional 520-sheet cassette needed for 820 total. Ordinary Letter/Legal/A4 and corresponding automatic duplex documented with proper stock. Envelopes need exact designated loading/type instructions, not duplex.

Scanning arrangement

Exact FW 50-sheet DADF with automatic two-sided Letter/Legal/A4 original capture; original sources do not establish single-pass versus reversing mechanism, so not assigned. Flatbed present, size range unknown here; Legal feeder range not copied to glass.

Computer and mobile connections

USB, Gigabit Ethernet, WiFi and compatible WiFi Direct included. Enabled Local/Network PC scanning with actual driver and settings is separate from direct peer printing. WIA WindowsUSB versus TWAIN local/network distinguished. FTP/SMB needs configured server/share/account/addressbook and current protocol compatibility.

Supplies and declared yields

Original US black 2,000 / 6,000 and each color 1,500 / 3,500 replacement yields, ISO/IEC 19798; separate CLT-W504 waste bottle. No installed remaining-life or current-price claim.

Software and support

512 MB standard, max 1 GB and 4 GB flash standard on exact FW; FD lacks included flash. Actual original guide confidential driver password and Document Box secured-job release documented, RAMDisk path where applicable; complex jobs may need optional memory. No single-pass scanner or universal mobile scanning inferred from touchscreen.

Electrical edition and setup

Earlier US exact FD configuration. Fax needs a separate compatible analog line and configured fax settings; network is not the telephone line. Verify electrical plate and supported current driver/application. Allow feeder/cover/cable access beyond closed body.
