Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can it handle Legal monochrome pages over USB at the declared 17 Letter ppm threshold?
Yes, with compatible software; the declared rate is for Letter, not a Legal speed promise.
Explore this need in the finder →Can it join a wired network through an included Ethernet interface?
That interface is not established for this model.
Explore this need in the finder →Is it a scanner as well as a printer?
No. It cannot capture originals.
Explore this need in the finder →Printer language matters as much as the cable
The Samsung ML-1750 is an earlier monochrome laser printer with PCL6, SPL and older printer-language emulations documented in its original guide. For an existing computer or application, that gives you specific compatibility questions to answer before choosing it. Identify the driver and language your actual application can use.
USB and bidirectional parallel are included connections. A modern computer may have neither a native parallel port nor a supported driver for every historical printer language. Confirm the complete arrangement rather than treating a cable adapter as proof that printing will work.
A main tray for routine paperwork, a separate path for special sheets
The main supply holds up to 250 ordinary sheets and accepts Letter, Legal and A4. That is useful for a desk producing forms or longer documents without frequent small reloads. The separate manual path accepts one sheet at a time; it is not another full stack of paper.
The manual routine is quite hands-on. Select Manual Feed in compatible software, load the material correctly, and press the Cancel button to start feeding. Repeat after each sheet when the job has several pages. Someone expecting an unattended special-media batch should account for those steps.
That arrangement can still be practical when you want to inspect each special sheet as it prints. It is less convenient when a long run needs repeated manual loading. Keep the ordinary tray and the selected software source consistent so that routine documents do not stop waiting for material at the front feed.
The rear output route is part of the envelope setup
The guide directs envelopes through the manual feed with rear face-up output. It specifies flap and stamp-area orientation, along with material restrictions. Do a small trial with suitable laser envelopes before assuming a large supply will behave well.
The rear cover becomes an output surface when open. Leave room for the emerging pages and reach the cover without pulling the machine against its cables. Return to the normal output arrangement after specialty work, and avoid changing the output path during a running job.
Labels, transparencies and thick materials have their own instructions. Their inclusion in a supported-media list does not mean every setting or paper path is interchangeable. A straight route can solve a handling problem only when the material itself is suitable for the printer.
For repeated forms, verify page alignment and source selection with a complete sample job before loading the whole batch.
Know which tasks call for another machine
The ML-1750 is print-only. It provides no scanning glass, original-document feeder, standalone copying or fax. A printed page containing the word Confidential also does not establish PIN-release security; the watermark function changes the document’s appearance.
Automatic two-sided printing is not confirmed by the checked operating sections. The finder therefore does not use this configuration to satisfy an automatic-duplex requirement. Choose a model with an explicitly documented automatic routine when unattended two-sided reports are central to your work.
Check the actual offered unit before comparing running costs
Samsung declares up to 17 Letter pages per minute, separately from its A4 rate. The 15,000-page monthly duty ceiling is not a recommendation to run that volume every month. The fixed 8 MB memory also should not be described as an expandable configuration.
The original starter and replacement cartridge yields differ. Neither tells you the remaining life of a cartridge installed today. Check electrical labeling, driver availability, feed condition and a representative print sample. Choose this model for compatible direct printing when its main tray and individual-sheet routine fit; budget for different equipment when networking, scanning or confirmed automatic duplex is essential.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Declared one-sided 17 Letter / 16 A4 ppm; 15,000-page monthly duty ceiling is not recommended recurring volume.
Paper handling
250-sheet main supply and separate one-sheet manual feed. Letter, Legal and A4 ordinary paper supported. Manual source requires pressing Cancel after each loaded sheet; envelopes use rear face-up output. Automatic duplex not established.
Scanning arrangement
Print-only equipment, without a scanner, copying glass, document feeder or fax.
Computer and mobile connections
Computer USB and bidirectional parallel are included; no Ethernet or WiFi is established. The original user guide and service manual disagree on USB transfer rate, so the connection is confirmed without a speed promise.
Supplies and declared yields
Replacement cartridge declared 3,000 pages and original starter 1,000 at stated coverage; no current price or remaining yield inferred.
Software and support
PCL6, SPL and legacy IBM/Epson emulations, with 8 MB nonexpandable RAM. Historical OS lists do not establish current driver support. Confidential watermark is not a held job.
Electrical edition and setup
ML-1750 exact original guide supports a US/Canada regional edition, but offered unit plate must be checked. 352 × 372 × 196 mm, 7 kg (~15.43 lb); extra operating clearance needed. Raw XAA lead retained without assuming a particular offered electrical edition.
