ML-2525Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

A supported desktop printing black-and-white paperwork and occasional manual-feed materials.

The main tradeoff

Print Screen is a computer-software shortcut, not scanning; the base ML-2525 has no included Ethernet or WiFi.

Choose the base model for a direct computer routine

The Samsung ML-2525 is an earlier monochrome printer with a direct USB connection. Its original US brochure separates this configuration from the ML-2525W, which adds Ethernet and wireless networking. The short model name therefore matters when a seller combines several versions in one listing.

The base printer can suit a compatible desktop producing ordinary letters, forms and other black-and-white documents. It is less suitable when the requirement is a printer that connects independently to a shared network. A USB socket does not become Ethernet or Wi-Fi through a generic network-software reference.

The screen-print button is a software convenience

The original ML-2525 material highlights a button for printing the computer’s display and software for collecting selected web content. Those controls concern information already on the computer. They do not add a flatbed, document feeder or scanner for paper originals.

Check the compatible software needed for the shortcut, as well as the ordinary printing driver. An older button description does not establish that all of its supporting applications still work with your current operating system. If the shortcut is unavailable, that should be understood before treating it as the reason to buy.

The model’s SPL host-based printing also deserves an application check. Do not borrow the different printer-language or network capabilities of another model covered in a combined manual. The relevant question is whether your actual computer can produce the documents you need.

A main cassette and a separate individual feed

The ordinary main cassette holds up to 250 sheets. Letter, Legal and A4 are documented sizes, provided the guides and software settings match the loaded paper. This is a useful stack for everyday correspondence without implying a second supplied full-size tray.

The manual path handles individual materials such as suitable envelopes. Select the correct source, media size and paper type, then load each sheet in the prescribed direction. That is a different routine from putting a large ordinary-paper stack in the main cassette.

Paper weight, label adhesive and envelope construction remain part of suitability. A material’s outside dimensions alone do not establish that it will tolerate the feed and fusing process. Try a small quantity of the exact material before committing to a larger special-media job. Confirm the exact envelope size in the driver before starting.

Two-sided printing is a manual task

The duplex option in the original specification means manual refeeding. A compatible driver arranges the job, but the operator must handle the stack for its second side. Suitable ordinary-paper sizes and weights are specified separately from the wider single-sided media list.

For occasional two-sided letters, that can be an acceptable tradeoff. For unattended reports or a shared queue, the extra intervention can be the decisive limitation. The finder rejects this model when automatic duplex is essential, rather than giving it credit for a similarly named software feature.

Use a short trial to establish the correct binding and refeed orientation. Avoid sending envelopes, labels or other unsuitable special materials through the ordinary two-sided process merely because their first side printed successfully.

Inspect condition and compatibility before price

The declared Letter rate reaches 24 pages per minute, while the 12,000-page monthly duty ceiling is not a recommended recurring workload. These are original maker specifications, not results from a hands-on timing or endurance test.

Check the electrical label, present software support, consumables and paper feeding of the unit offered. Starter and replacement cartridge ratings differ, and regional cartridge versions need identification. Choose the ML-2525 when supported USB printing and manual duplex fit; choose a different configuration when independent networking or document scanning is essential.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The US brochure declares 24 Letter ppm and a 12,000-page maximum monthly duty. Neither is measured speed or a recommended recurring workload.

Paper handling

The main cassette holds 250 ordinary sheets, with a separate individual-sheet manual route. Letter, Legal and A4 are supported. Duplex is manual, using compatible software and 75–90 gsm ordinary stock. Envelopes and special materials need their own source, type and loading setup.

Scanning arrangement

Print-only equipment. Computer screen-capture functions do not add a physical document scanner.

Computer and mobile connections

The exact base ML-2525 includes USB. The family table reserves Ethernet for another configuration, and the US pair brochure assigns WiFi and Ethernet to the ML-2525W. No Direct, AirPrint or Mopria route is established.

Supplies and declared yields

US brochure replacement ratings: MLT-D105S at 1,500 and MLT-D105L at 2,500 ISO/IEC 19752 pages, versus a 1,000-page starter. Regional cartridge codes differ; no current price or remaining-toner estimate is inferred.

Software and support

The base model uses host-based SPL and 8 MB memory. Print Screen and AnyWeb require compatible software and do not add a scanner. Watermarks do not establish PIN-held jobs.

Electrical edition and setup

Earlier US Letter-capable reference. Brochure and guide disagree on width, depth and weight, so those filters remain unspecified. Height rounds consistently to 7.8 inches. Regional voltage editions differ; verify the actual offered label.
