ML-2525WIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

Compatible desktop or network printing where wireless placement matters and manual duplex is acceptable.

The main tradeoff

Networking does not make duplex automatic, and the base ML-2525’s Print Screen button does not belong to this W control panel.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can it print mono Legal pages on compatible WiFi with 250 ordinary sheets?

Yes, after network and desktop-software setup; two-sided work remains manual.

Does the W configuration automatically print both sides?

No. Its documented duplex routine is manual.

Can it scan documents over WiFi?

No. This network printer has no physical scanner.

The W model adds real network choices

The Samsung ML-2525W adds wired Ethernet and legacy Wi-Fi to a monochrome document-printing platform that also supports computer USB. These interfaces distinguish it from the USB-only ML-2525. Check the complete model rather than assuming that every printer in a shared listing has the same connection hardware.

For a compatible home or small office, network access can make placement more flexible than a direct cable to one desktop. That benefit depends on a working network configuration and suitable printing software. It does not establish scanning or every modern mobile-printing protocol.

Wireless setup needs to match the router

The original model table identifies 802.11b/g wireless networking. Its infrastructure instructions require the network name, security settings and a supported access-point arrangement. Confirm those details with the actual router rather than expecting an old radio to work with any present wireless configuration.

The manual also discusses older ad-hoc arrangements. Those should not be renamed standardized Wi-Fi Direct, and a network-management webpage should not be mistaken for AirPrint or Mopria certification. If printing directly from a phone is essential, verify the exact supported route before purchase.

Ethernet remains an alternative when wired placement is practical. A printed configuration report and the assigned address help check that the printer is actually reachable. Test ordinary output from the computer and application you intend to use, not just discovery by a setup utility.

Paper handling is still deliberately simple

The main cassette holds up to 250 ordinary sheets, with Letter, Legal and A4 supported in the documentation. Adjust the guides to the stack and make the document settings agree. The separate manual path takes individual special materials instead of functioning as another full cassette.

For envelopes, select an appropriate construction and load one at a time using the instructed direction and media settings. Labels, heavy paper and other materials have their own restrictions. Their support does not mean they share the ordinary-paper capacity or should be used in every printing mode.

Allow adequate working clearance for the cassette, front access and cables when choosing a location. A compact closed body can still be awkward on a shelf if every paper reload requires moving the machine.

Wireless does not change manual duplex

The ML-2525W’s two-sided routine is manual. Compatible software handles the page arrangement, while the operator must refeed the stack. The guide limits the documented process to suitable paper sizes and weights, rather than the entire special-media range.

This is an important distinction for a printer placed away from the desk. A wireless first-side job can still require a walk to the printer before its second side is produced. Frequent unattended duplex reports call for an included automatic duplexer in a different configuration.

Run a short trial to check orientation and binding. A driver’s booklet or two-sided option does not alter the mechanical equipment. The finder therefore keeps an automatic-duplex requirement separate from accepting ordinary manual two-sided printing.

Do not borrow the base model’s software button

The US brochure assigns the screen-print button specifically to the ML-2525, while describing AnyWeb software for the pair. The W model should not be selected on a promise of that base-model panel shortcut. Neither feature adds a physical document scanner.

Samsung declares up to 24 Letter pages per minute and a 12,000-page monthly duty ceiling. These are not our own speed results or a recommended monthly workload. Check present driver support, the electrical label, consumables and feeding condition of the earlier unit offered. Choose it for supported network monochrome work when the main tray and manual duplex routine fit your actual documents.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The US brochure declares 24 Letter ppm and a 12,000-page maximum monthly duty. Neither is measured speed or a recommended recurring workload.

Paper handling

The main cassette holds 250 ordinary sheets, with a separate individual-sheet manual route. Letter, Legal and A4 are supported. Duplex is manual, using compatible software and 75–90 gsm ordinary stock. Envelopes and special materials need their own source, type and loading setup.

Scanning arrangement

Print-only equipment. Computer screen-capture functions do not add a physical document scanner.

Computer and mobile connections

The exact W configuration includes USB, Ethernet and 802.11b/g WiFi. Configure a compatible wireless network and its actual security settings. These are alternative connection arrangements, not a network bridge. Legacy ad-hoc mode does not establish standardized WiFi Direct. AirPrint and Mopria are not established.

Supplies and declared yields

US brochure replacement ratings: MLT-D105S at 1,500 and MLT-D105L at 2,500 ISO/IEC 19752 pages, versus a 1,000-page starter. Regional cartridge codes differ; no current price or remaining-toner estimate is inferred.

Software and support

The W model has host-based SPL and 64 MB memory, versus 8 MB in the base model. It does not inherit the base control panel’s Print Screen button. AnyWeb and manual duplex require compatible software. PIN-held jobs are not established.

Electrical edition and setup

Earlier US Letter-capable model. Brochure and original W guide conflict on width and depth, so these are unspecified. Height is approximately 7.8 inches and consumable-inclusive weight approximately 16.1 lb. Regional voltage editions require actual-label verification.
