Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the USB arrangement automatically duplex Legal output and scan both sides of Legal originals in color?
Yes with compatible MFP software and the correct paper and original settings. The 50-sheet feeder supports automatic reversing capture, and print duplex is a separate supported function. The base ordinary-paper arrangement is 300 sheets. Analog fax additionally needs a compatible telephone line.
Explore this need in the finder →Can a Wi-Fi computer arrangement scan A4 originals from both glass and feeder and release protected jobs at the panel?
Yes with the installed scanner program, enabled scan activation and registered computer destination. Both A4 capture routes are documented. The included SD card supports compatible driver jobs released with their ID and password.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the reversing feeder meet a requirement to capture both sides in a single pass?
No. The original guide identifies a Reversing Automatic Document Feeder. Automatic duplex capture is supported, but it must not be represented as a single-pass mechanism.

The Samsung ProXpress C3060FW/XAA is an earlier color laser multifunction configuration with printing, copying, color scanning and analog fax. It combines USB, Gigabit Ethernet and built-in Wi-Fi, rather than requiring the wireless accessory offered for neighboring ND and FR variants.
The distinction also affects supplies. The FW's original initial toner declarations differ from those of the related ND and FR. Check the exact model and regional markings instead of assuming that every C3060-series description identifies the same box contents.
The feeder handles two-sided originals by reversing them
The original guide names a Reversing Automatic Document Feeder for FR and FW. Its 50-sheet capacity supports suitable batches, and its document range reaches Legal length. Automatic two-sided capture is available, but it is not a single-pass scanning mechanism.
Prepare an aligned stack, remove clips and staples, and load originals face up with the width guides adjusted. Select the actual original sides and orientation. Printed duplex, duplex original capture and the number of copies are separate settings, so check each when making a two-sided copy set.
The glass has a shorter maximum length of 297 mm. A full Legal original belongs in the feeder, not on that glass. The exact HP specification gives a 216 mm glass width, while an earlier service table lists 210 mm; inspect important Letter-size captures for edge coverage. A4 fits the declared glass dimensions. Clear the feeder before using glass, since it otherwise receives priority.
Register the computer that will receive scans
The reviewed compatible Windows workflow includes both USB and network computer scanning. Install the MFP's scanner components as well as the print driver. A successful print queue does not establish that the computer can receive a scan.
For network operation, enable scan activation, choose the registered computer ID and enter its configured password when needed. The guide documents TWAIN scanning over local or network connections, while its WIA routine uses direct USB. These routes have different setup conditions even when they reach the same physical scanner.
AirPrint and Mopria use a separate compatible local-network printing arrangement with required discovery and print protocols enabled. NFC additionally depends on compatible mobile hardware, software and Wi-Fi Direct settings. Do not assume an NFC tap or an old cloud-service logo guarantees every present-day mobile workflow.
Protected printing uses the included storage
The original guide explicitly states that FR and FW include an SD card. Secure printing therefore does not require creating the RAM Disk described for other configurations. This storage should not be confused with an assumed mechanical hard drive merely because a destination list uses an HDD label.
A compatible driver sends the protected document with its ID and password. At the touchscreen, open the secured-print area within Document Box and select the stored job for release. A document watermark, the network administrator login and a scan-destination password serve different purposes.
Keep the base paper and consumable arrangement realistic
The standard paper paths provide a 250-sheet cassette and a 50-sheet multipurpose tray. Suitable Letter, Legal and A4 ordinary paper fit the reviewed 300-sheet arrangement. Additional expansion drawers are optional. Match tray guides, paper size and type with the driver before printing, and use the narrower stock restrictions of automatic duplex rather than every weight accepted by a one-sided feed.
The declared 31 one-sided Letter pages per minute applies to both black and color output; duplex images, scan images and multi-original copy rates are separate figures. The maximum duty ceiling is also distinct from a recommended monthly workload.
The original FW initial supplies are approximately 2,500 black pages and 1,200 per color. Replacement yields depend on the specific 503S or 503L cartridge, and the waste container is separate. Check actual consumable condition, software support, working clearance and the machine's electrical label. Fax requires its own compatible telephone connection.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The exact model declares up to 31 one-sided Letter pages/min in either black or color, compared with 30 A4. The service table separately gives 15 duplex images/min and 24 scan images/min at 300 dpi for FR/FW. Copy speed depends on whether one original is reproduced repeatedly or multiple originals pass through the feeder. The 60,000-page maximum duty ceiling is not a verified recommended monthly workload. Manufacturer declarations are not measured performance.
Paper handling
The base arrangement is a 250-sheet cassette plus a 50-sheet multipurpose tray, with the exact service table supporting suitable Letter, Legal and A4 ordinary paper at 80 gsm in both. Two expansion cassettes are optional. Automatic print duplex supports those three sizes; this review uses the conservative 60–120 gsm duplex stock range from the exact service table rather than extending every ordinary feed weight to duplex. Match source, size and type in the printer and driver. Suitable envelopes use their own loading and capacity conditions, not the ordinary 300-sheet total.
Scanning arrangement
The exact FW uses a 50-sheet reversing automatic document feeder, with automatic two-sided capture and an original range reaching 216 x 356 mm. Suitable Letter, Legal and A4 originals fit that route within capture margins. It is not single-pass. The exact HP specification gives the glass as 216 x 297 mm, supporting Letter and A4; an earlier service table gives 210 x 297 mm, so confirm edge coverage for important Letter originals. Neither source gives this glass full Legal length. Load feeder originals face up, glass originals face down at the top-left guide, and clear the feeder when using glass.
Computer and mobile connections
USB, Gigabit Ethernet and Wi-Fi are standard on FW. The original feature table distinguishes FW’s included passive NFC from the optional wireless/NFC kit for ND or FR. Compatible Windows MFP software supports USB and network computer scanning. A network destination needs a registered computer ID, its password if configured, and enabled scan activation. Network TWAIN is documented, while WIA is a direct USB routine. NFC mobile use requires compatible device, app and Wi-Fi Direct conditions; an NFC tap alone is not a universal scanning or printing interface.
Supplies and declared yields
The exact FW initial supplies are declared at approximately 2,500 black pages and 1,200 pages for each color. Do not substitute the larger ND/FR initial supplies. The original table lists CLT-K/C/M/Y503S replacements at 2,500 pages each and 503L replacements at 8,000 black or 5,000 pages per color under ISO/IEC 19798. The CLT-W506 waste container is separate. Regional markings matter, and declared yields do not establish current remaining life or cost.
Software and support
The original guide explicitly states that FR and FW include an SD card, making secure printing available without creating a RAM Disk. A compatible driver sends a protected job with its ID and password; release it at Document Box > System Boxes > Secured Print. This is distinct from a watermark, administrator password or scan destination login. Some manufacturer destination lists call storage HDD; that wording is not treated as proof of a mechanical hard drive. AirPrint and Mopria have separate compatible local-network, enabled mDNS/Bonjour and IPP requirements. Their plans do not inherit desktop scanner or PIN settings.
Electrical edition and setup
The exact manufacturer sheet gives an approximately 18.5 x 17.8 x 19.9-inch minimum body and about 58 lb, distinct from the shipping carton. The service table identifies 26.32 kg including supplies and excluding expansion options. Leave working clearance for the scanner, extended media, rear access and consumables. The reviewed XAA/SS212A US configuration has a 110–127 VAC, 50/60 Hz edition; separate 220–240 VAC versions exist. Verify the actual rating label. Ordinary fax needs its separate compatible telephone LINE connection.
