SL-M3320ND/XAAIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

Compatible ordinary two-sided reports when wired networking and individual-sheet special feeding are enough.

The main tradeoff

The one-sheet bypass and lack of supported secure-print release differ from higher family configurations.

The entry ProXpress configuration makes specific tradeoffs

The Samsung ProXpress M3320ND is an earlier monochrome office printer with included USB, Ethernet and automatic duplex. It shares a family brochure with the M3820DW and M4020ND, but its paper bypass, control panel and secure-print capability differ. Those differences matter more than the shared ProXpress name.

Consider it for compatible wired paperwork when the supplied main tray is enough and someone can attend occasional special sheets. Confirm the actual driver and document application before buying an earlier unit. A reachable Ethernet address does not independently establish compatible printing software.

The bypass takes one sheet rather than a small batch

The supplied main cassette holds up to 250 ordinary sheets at the stated stock weight. The separate manual bypass takes an individual sheet, unlike the larger multipurpose input on higher family configurations. Count the usable main stack when comparing unattended capacity.

This can suit an occasional envelope or special form that you want to inspect immediately. It is less convenient when many special sheets need repeated loading. Choose the correct source, size and type in the application rather than assuming the front feed detects the entire job.

The optional lower cassette is a separate equipment check. A maximum-capacity figure describes an expanded configuration, not every offered printer. Confirm the actual accessory, guides and feeding behavior if reducing reloads is part of the buying decision.

Ordinary Legal duplex is documented

The original operating instructions provide automatic two-sided output for Letter, Legal and A4. That lets a supported report complete without the manual alternate-side refeed routine used by simpler printers. Select the appropriate binding and orientation in compatible software.

Test a complete short document before sending a long queue. A correct first page does not establish that later pages read in the intended direction. Keep paper size and source consistent between the loaded tray, driver and document.

Envelopes, labels and other special stock have their own limits. Their inclusion in a supported-media list does not mean they can use every ordinary duplex setting. Use the instructed bypass route and suitable material, then trial a small quantity before stocking up.

The family’s secure-print feature does not apply here

The original secure-print instructions explicitly exclude the M332xND configuration. Do not assign the higher models’ keypad and password-release routine to this machine because the guide discusses them elsewhere.

This is a meaningful distinction for a shared location where sensitive pages must wait for their owner. A Confidential watermark is printed text, and network administration controls serve another purpose. Choose a model with a documented release routine when that requirement is essential.

Check the cartridge range for this exact printer

The original US brochure lists standard and higher-yield replacements for the M3320ND, while still larger family cartridge options belong to other models. Verify the compatible supply code rather than choosing the largest yield advertised for the whole series.

Declared cartridge yield uses specified test conditions. It does not tell you how much toner remains in an offered unit or establish current operating cost. Compare supplies actually available for the regional machine you are considering.

Choose on the complete document routine

The declared Letter rate and monthly duty ceiling are original specifications, not our measured timing or reliability results. The duty ceiling is also different from a recommended recurring workload.

The M3320ND cannot scan, copy or fax originals. Check the actual electrical label, feed condition and representative output, allowing room for tray and cartridge access. Choose it for supported wired duplex when the main supply and attended bypass fit; choose another configuration when wireless, scanning or PIN release is central to your work.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Declared up to 35 Letter ppm; monthly 50,000 is maximum duty, not recommended recurring volume or measured reliability.

Paper handling

Ordinary Letter, Legal and A4 supported, including actual automatic two-sided routine in original guide 195–196. Binding and media settings matter. Envelopes, labels and other special stock follow their own instructed bypass route; duplex permission is not borrowed from ordinary paper. Extra cassette is optional. Main cassette 250 sheets plus separate one-sheet manual feed, conservatively matching 250 unattended ordinary sheets. Optional 520-sheet cassette does not belong to the base package.

Scanning arrangement

Print-only equipment, without a scanner, copying glass, document feeder or fax.

Computer and mobile connections

Exact M3320ND includes USB and wired Ethernet; no wireless or Direct plan borrowed from M3820DW. Its three-status-LED control panel differs from the numeric-keypad configurations.

Supplies and declared yields

US brochure: 3,000-page standard/starter and 5,000-page high-yield replacement under ISO/IEC 19752. Larger 10,000/15,000 family cartridges are not listed for this model. Actual remaining yield/current cost unestablished.

Software and support

Original US brochure lists SPL, PCL5e/6, PS3 and legacy emulations; compatible actual driver required. Historical OS lists do not guarantee present support. Maximum memory and expanded permanent storage are not standard equipment.

Electrical edition and setup

Original exact US configuration reference. Approximate closed body 14.4 × 14.4 × 10.3 inches, not the shipping box. Allow tray, rear-path, cartridge and cable access. Actual offered electrical label requires checking.
