Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can the compatible USB arrangement make Legal black pages and capture one-sided Legal originals in color?
Yes. The ordinary cassette supports 250 sheets of 80 gsm Legal, and the feeder’s original range accommodates suitable Legal documents within capture margins. The scanner software must be installed; analog fax separately needs its compatible telephone line.
Explore this need in the finder →Can the Wi-Fi printing arrangement make Letter documents and follow a supported envelope routine?
Yes with compatible print software. The exact FW includes Wi-Fi and supports the ordinary cassette plus a separate attended envelope path. That positive print arrangement does not itself establish network computer scanning.
Explore this need in the finder →Will it automatically print both sides of an ordinary document without refeeding?
No. The dedicated FW source and the USA model table specify manual printed duplex. A conditional software setting cannot add an automatic paper-turning mechanism.
Explore this need in the finder →The FW adds network placement to a black multifunction printer
The Samsung SCX-4623FW is an earlier monochrome laser multifunction configuration with printing, copying, color scanning and analog fax. Its dedicated specifications confirm USB, Ethernet and Wi-Fi, making it possible to place the printer on an appropriate network rather than beside a single USB workstation.
The deciding limitations are manual printed duplex and the need to check the exact computer scanning arrangement. A useful network print connection is not enough to prove that every older scan application and current host can use the same route.
Match the driver to the computer capture routine
Compatible USB computer capture is documented with the scanner components and selected destination application. Install those components as well as the print queue, then check the saved file's format, orientation and location. A successful test page does not complete scanner setup.
The older shared operating guide gives generic Scan Manager instructions and network destination credentials, but its model matrix lists F, FN and FH rather than the FW explicitly. The dedicated FW material establishes the network interfaces and PC capture separately. Confirm the exact current network scanner driver and destination workflow before making network capture essential to the office routine.
A registered computer ID or four-digit scan password is also different from a printer that holds ordinary jobs for PIN release. Likewise, a generic ADF Duplex control may be unavailable on hardware that does not support it. Neither software wording should become an unqualified hardware promise.
Use the feeder for suitable one-sided originals
The FW combines a color CIS scanner, glass route and 40-sheet document feeder. Suitable originals through Legal fit the feeder's documented size range within capture margins. The service capacity basis specifically uses suitable Letter/A4 stock at 75 gsm; paper size and weight still matter when preparing a stack.
Remove fasteners, avoid unsuitable mixed, curled or damaged originals and adjust the guides without bending the pages. The reviewed routine captures one side. Automatic capture of both sides is not established by the print or copy headline.
The glass is separate. Place individual originals according to the registration guide and remove feeder originals first because the feeder takes priority. Do not transfer its longer Legal limit to the glass, whose precise original-length range is unestablished in the selected evidence.
Count the cassette separately from attended feeding
The ordinary cassette holds 250 sheets of 80 gsm Letter, Legal or A4 paper. A separate one-sheet manual tray is an attended route, rather than another unattended sheet in a full cassette batch. Adjust the tray and match device, application and driver paper settings.
Suitable envelopes use that manual path, with their own 75–90 gsm conditions, construction restrictions and margins. Load each piece as instructed and use panel confirmation when required. Ordinary-paper capacity does not describe the envelope workflow.
Printed two-sided output requires manual refeeding. That can be acceptable for an occasional short report, but frequent unattended duplex work calls for a configuration that explicitly includes automatic duplex hardware and the needed paper-size support.
Use the FW-specific rates and the correct supply region
The dedicated FW and USA reference material declare up to 23 one-sided Letter pages per minute, compared with 22 A4 in the dedicated document. An older common service table gives a different Letter figure. The model-specific declaration is the useful comparison, and no figure is a hands-on measurement.
The 12,000-page maximum monthly duty ceiling is separate from a recommended workload. The USA initial toner declaration is 1,000 pages, with 1,500- and 2,500-page replacement choices. Regional cartridge suffixes matter; a non-USA code in another brochure is not automatically the USA supply.
Finally, confirm the electrical label, current host software, actual consumable condition and separate compatible telephone service needed for fax. Leave space for the scanner, paper and maintenance, and check actual body depth because the published USA and dedicated FW dimensions differ.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The FW-specific and USA reference tables declare up to 23 one-sided Letter pages/min, compared with 22 A4 in the dedicated FW document. An earlier common service table gives 22 Letter and is not substituted for the later FW-specific figure. Color scanning does not give the engine color output. The 12,000-page maximum monthly duty ceiling and service-table average-use figures are not a verified recommended monthly range.
Paper handling
The ordinary cassette supports 250 sheets of 80 gsm Letter, Legal or A4 stock. The separate one-sheet manual tray is attended and is not added to the unattended cassette capacity. Suitable envelopes use the manual tray, the specific 75–90 gsm conditions and construction/margin instructions. Printed duplex requires compatible manual refeeding; the machine has no established automatic print duplex arrangement.
Scanning arrangement
The exact FW has color CIS capture, a flatbed and a 40-sheet automatic document feeder. The service capacity basis is suitable Letter/A4 originals at 75 gsm, while its document range of 142–216 mm width and 148–356 mm length also accommodates one-sided Legal within capture margins. The selected glass evidence establishes the physical route and width but not its exact original-length range; full Legal glass coverage is not promised. Automatic two-sided feeder capture is unestablished.
Computer and mobile connections
The FW-specific original sources confirm USB, 10/100 Ethernet and 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi. Compatible USB computer scanning is established. An older family operating matrix lists F, FN and FH but omits FW; its generic network Scan Manager instructions alone do not fully establish the exact FW computer-scanning route. Network plans therefore confirm printing and the separate standalone copy/fax functions while leaving network computer capture unknown. Confirm the exact current scanner driver and destination workflow before relying on network capture.
Supplies and declared yields
The USA table declares a 1,000-page initial cartridge and replacement MLT-D105S at 1,500 or MLT-D105L at 2,500 pages. The service document states ISO/IEC 19752 for the replacement declarations. Regional D1052 codes in the non-USA FW document are not assigned to the USA package. Check actual regional markings, remaining condition and current compatible availability.
Software and support
The common USB Scan to PC routine uses installed scanner components and a selected application destination; compatible TWAIN/WIA arrangements have their own host conditions. A network destination ID/password is separate from protected print-job release. A conditional ADF Duplex software control is grayed out on unsupported hardware and does not establish automatic two-sided capture. No exact AirPrint, Mopria or PIN-release printing arrangement is established. Original host-system lists do not guarantee current support.
Electrical edition and setup
The USA table gives an approximate 16.4-inch width, 12.6-inch height and 25.4 lb unit weight. Its 16.1-inch depth differs from the exact FW document’s 415.4 mm, so a single exact depth is unestablished. Allow extra paper, scanner-lid and maintenance clearance. Fixed 110–127V and 220–240V editions are separate; the operating guide sends frequency confirmation to the rating label, leaving full US mains compatibility unverified. Analog fax requires its separate compatible telephone connection.
