Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can an Ethernet-connected 6010N print Legal color with at least 150 included sheets?
Yes. Its standard 150-sheet main tray and 10-sheet bypass both support ordinary Legal stock, giving 160 nominal sheets together. Use compatible host-based software, the configured wired network and correct paper settings.
Explore this need in the finder →Can a USB setup scan color originals to the computer?
No. The Phaser 6010N is print-only. The scanner and original feeder described for the WorkCentre 6015 do not belong to this model.
Explore this need in the finder →Does its two-sided driver option provide automatic Letter duplex?
No. The original US table specifies manual two-sided printing. The user must handle the printed sheets for the second pass, which does not meet an automatic duplex requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →A small wired color printer with a clear function boundary
The Xerox Phaser 6010N is a print-only LED toner device for a compatible computer setup that already handles scanning elsewhere. It includes USB 2.0 and 10/100 Ethernet, a 150-sheet main paper tray and a 10-sheet bypass. Its compact closed body is useful where a separate printer fits more naturally than a multifunction machine.
The deciding limitations are manual two-sided output and the absence of scanner hardware. The WorkCentre 6015NI appears beside it in the original brochure, but that model's flatbed, document feeder, fax and Wi-Fi should not be transferred to this Phaser. If those functions are essential, choose a configuration that actually includes them.
Use the paper range with matching driver settings
Ordinary Letter, Legal and A4 are documented in the original quick guide for the main and bypass routes. Their nominal combined capacity is 160 sheets, with no precise paper-weight basis established for the count. The bypass is a small ten-sheet source, rather than another full cassette for a large stack.
The supported range is 60–163 gsm, subject to media categories and loading restrictions. Set the correct size and type in the model's print driver, keep the guides aligned and stay below the fill marks. A stock's permitted dimensions do not mean every thickness will provide the same input count.
The brochure lists envelopes, labels, covers and coated stock among supported media categories. The quick guide identifies No. 10, Monarch, DL and C5 envelope formats. Use the specific loading instructions and envelope settings for that job; the ordinary-paper capacity is not a declared envelope capacity.
Manual duplex needs someone to handle the stack
The US configuration table explicitly describes two-sided printing as manual. Software can arrange the pages for a second pass, but the operator still needs to reinsert the sheets according to the printer's instructions. Plan for that interruption when preparing a multipage report.
A driver choice mentioning two sides therefore does not make this an automatic duplex printer. For routine unattended two-sided output, an automatic duplex configuration is a more suitable alternative. The blank-paper bypass also provides no document scanning function.
Check the host-based software before relying on an old unit
The N includes wired Ethernet as well as USB, unlike the USB-only Phaser 6000B in the larger family brochure. Its original language entry is host-based and it has 128 MB standard memory. Verify a suitable model driver for the actual computer rather than assuming it offers the PostScript or PCL arrangements of another Phaser.
Ethernet needs the correct network configuration and is limited to the documented 10/100 interface. CentreWare Internet Services provides browser management on the network. The old Bonjour and Mac software listings do not establish native AirPrint or Mopria, or guarantee present operating-system support.
Protected PIN-held job release is unestablished in the read sources. General network filtering or an unrelated password menu should not be treated as evidence that confidential jobs can be held at this printer for numeric release.
Keep the LED engine and speed claims accurate
Xerox identifies a Hi-Q LED print engine. This remains a toner-based printer, while LED accurately describes its imaging technology. The US brochure shows up to 12 color and 15 monochrome pages per minute beside its Letter/A4 print icon. These are manufacturer one-sided declarations, not hands-on measurements or automatic-duplex rates.
The separate 30,000-page duty figure is explicitly a maximum volume expected in one month and is not intended to be sustained regularly. A recommended monthly range remains unestablished. It should not be substituted for an ordinary workload recommendation simply because the maximum appears large.
Check US supplies and leave room for the open trays
The US replacement list uses black 106R01630 at 2,000 declared standard pages and cyan, magenta and yellow 106R01627, 106R01628 and 106R01629 at 1,000 each. Supplied cartridges are declared at 500 pages each. The brochure states ISO/IEC 19798 and explains that actual yield varies with the document and mode. The other combined regional brochure uses different cartridge codes.
The original US configuration listing identifies 6010/N as 110 V. Check the particular machine's label and condition. The closed body is listed at 15.5 by 12 by 9.2 inches and 23.4 pounds; opening the trays changes the listed dimensions to 15.5 by 16.9 by 11.5 inches. Leave additional access for paper, output, ventilation and service, and confirm the cable separately.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The exact US brochure shows up to 12 color and 15 monochrome pages/min beside the 8.5 x 11 in./A4 print icon. These are manufacturer one-sided declarations, not measured results, ISO/IEC 24734 rates or automatic-duplex throughput. First-page times are separate. The 30,000-page duty figure is explicitly a maximum expected in one month, not a sustained recommendation; a recommended monthly range is unestablished.
Paper handling
Included input is a 150-sheet main tray and 10-sheet bypass, nominally 160 ordinary sheets together; a precise paper-weight basis for that count is unestablished. Both support ordinary Letter, Legal and A4 within the documented 60–163 gsm media range and type restrictions. Match size and type in the compatible print driver and observe fill limits. Two-sided printing is manual, requiring operator reinsertion. Supported paper envelopes, including the documented No. 10, Monarch, DL and C5 formats, need the model-specific loading directions and envelope settings; do not treat ordinary stack capacity as an envelope count.
Scanning arrangement
The 6010N is a print-only LED toner printer. It has no scanner, original feeder, copying or fax hardware. The WorkCentre 6015NI illustrated in the same brochure has distinct capture and wireless functions that do not belong to this Phaser.
Computer and mobile connections
The N includes USB 2.0 Type B and wired 10/100Base-T Ethernet. Use suitable host-based print software and correct network configuration. Ethernet is not gigabit or built-in wireless. CentreWare Internet Services is the documented network management route. A historical Bonjour or Mac driver listing does not establish native AirPrint or Mopria. Verify actual OS compatibility and the required cable before relying on this earlier device.
Supplies and declared yields
The US brochure lists black replacement 106R01630 at 2,000 declared standard pages and cyan/magenta/yellow 106R01627/628/629 at 1,000 each, with supplied black and color cartridges at 500 each. It identifies ISO/IEC 19798 and notes yield varies with image, area coverage and print mode. The preserved 601BR-012C brochure lists different regional codes 106R01634/631/632/633; those are retained separately and not substituted for the US supply identities. No live price, stock, measured yield or current warranty coverage is promised.
Software and support
Standard memory is 128 MB and the original language entry is host-based. Use an appropriate model driver; do not assume a PostScript or PCL option from another Phaser. Protected PIN-held print release is unestablished in the read original sources. General network security, a PDF password or an old generic help-page menu does not establish that job workflow.
Electrical edition and setup
Earlier US 6010/N, explicitly identified as 110 V in the original US government configuration list. Verify the actual mains label. The US brochure lists a closed 15.5 by 12 by 9.2 in. body and 23.4 lb, with no explicit consumable-weight basis. Its open-tray footprint is 15.5 by 16.9 by 11.5 in. Body limits therefore do not include all operating space; allow paper, output, service and ventilation access. The brochure does not establish a supplied US USB cable.
