Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a USB computer print ordinary Legal color documents with 300 sheets of included input and passcode release?
Yes, with a compatible driver and the stated ordinary-paper conditions. Both included sources accept Legal, and Secure Print uses a driver passcode released through the button panel. This routine is one-sided or manually turned; it does not supply automatic duplex.
Explore this need in the finder →Will the N automatically turn Letter sheets for two-sided printing?
No. The exact N configuration lists manual two-sided printing. Choose a positively documented automatic-duplex configuration when unattended sheet turning is essential.
Explore this need in the finder →Does the N include a wireless computer connection?
No. USB and Ethernet are included. Wireless requires an optional adapter, so that added hardware is outside the base N arrangement.
Explore this need in the finder →A color print-only role where manual duplex is acceptable
The Xerox Phaser 6510/N is the wired, manual-duplex configuration of an earlier color LED printer family. It can suit a compatible computer routine that needs color output, ordinary Letter, A4 or Legal paper and passcode-held jobs, while keeping document scanning elsewhere.
The N suffix is the deciding restriction. Its two-sided printing is manual: the printer does not automatically turn the sheet. The DN and DNI have different configurations. Xerox identifies the family as no longer sold as new, so check the actual machine's electrical label, condition and available drivers before planning its use.
Plan paper handling around the included sources
The N includes a 250-sheet main tray and 50-sheet bypass. Together they hold 300 ordinary sheets on the detailed specification's 20 lb / 75 gsm basis. Both sources accept Letter, A4 and Legal. Capacity changes with stock weight, and the maximum fill line still applies.
Extending the tray for Legal makes it protrude from the front. Match the loaded size and media type to the printer and driver settings, rather than relying on a previous user's configuration. The paper guide lists ordinary plain stock at 75–105 gsm and provides separate categories for heavier media.
Manual two-sided work requires a deliberate sheet-turning routine. A generic duplex option in a family driver description is not evidence that the N contains an automatic duplex path. If repeated two-sided documents are the main job, an explicitly supported automatic-duplex configuration is a better functional match.
Envelopes use Tray 1 or the bypass as a separate one-sided job. The bypass is limited to five envelopes. Number 10 envelopes enter short edge first with flaps down and to the right; other listed formats have their own orientation instructions. The ordinary 50-sheet bypass figure does not describe envelope capacity. A 550-sheet additional drawer can raise ordinary input to 850, but it is optional.
Ethernet can serve mobile devices without an included printer radio
USB Type B connects a computer directly through a suitable cable and print driver. Gigabit Ethernet connects through an appropriate network router or switch and makes the printer's web configuration available. Neither arrangement adds a scanner, copier or fax.
The wireless adapter is optional on the N. Its base configuration should therefore be planned around USB or Ethernet. AirPrint and Mopria can provide basic printing on a suitable shared network while the printer itself uses Ethernet. AirPrint needs IPP and Bonjour enabled, with the appropriate subnet discovery between devices.
Check the settings exposed by the particular mobile app. A basic mobile print path does not promise the complete desktop driver's paper, job-type or passcode controls. A retired cloud-print name in an old brochure should not be treated as an available current service.
Release protected jobs using the actual button panel
Secure Print begins in the compatible computer driver. Choose that job type, enter and confirm a passcode, then send the document. At the printer, open Print Menu, select Personal & Secure and the user name, then enter the code with the arrow buttons. Select the intended job and choose Print, or delete it instead.
This is a two-line, button-operated panel, not the WorkCentre 6515's touchscreen. Personal Print is another job type and explicitly does not use a passcode. Select the protected job type when local release matters, and check the driver's available controls on the intended operating system.
Separate rated output from service planning
Xerox declares up to 30 one-sided Letter pages per minute in color or monochrome. A4 figures are listed separately and differ slightly between documents. The regional detailed specification recommends up to 3,000 regular monthly pages, whereas the surviving US page shows a 4,000-page summary. Its 50,000-page maximum duty figure is a separate ceiling.
The detailed box list declares included black toner at 1,500 pages and each color at 1,000 under ISO/IEC 19798. Replacement black and color cartridges have different capacities. Four drums and a waste cartridge are separate maintenance items, so cartridge yield alone does not describe all future servicing.
The variant-specific body dimensions are 16.5 inches wide, 19 deep and 13.7 high, at about 52.5 pounds. Allow tray, output and cover access beyond that outline, and verify regional supplies. Choose an MFP for document capture, or a different configuration when automatic duplex or an included wireless radio is essential.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Maker-declared one-sided print speed is up to 30 Letter pages/min for color or monochrome. The US brochure lists 28 A4 pages/min, while the guide gives 28.6; A4 figures and separate duplex images/pages rates are not substituted for Letter speed. The regional detailed sheet recommends up to 3,000 regular monthly pages; the US legacy page shows a different 4K summary. The conservative detailed recommendation is retained separately from 50,000 maximum duty.
Paper handling
The N provides manual two-sided printing, with no included automatic duplex. The 250-sheet Tray 1 and 50-sheet bypass accept ordinary Letter, Legal and A4, totaling 300 normal sheets on 20 lb / 75 gsm stock. The 550-sheet additional drawer and 850 maximum are optional. Envelopes use Tray 1 or bypass one-sided, with a five-envelope bypass limit; the Legal tray extension protrudes. Plain stock is 75–105 gsm under the guide table.
Scanning arrangement
The Phaser 6510 is color print-only, without document glass, feeder, copying, computer scanning or native fax. WorkCentre 6515 capture hardware and generic Mobile Link app descriptions do not establish those functions on the Phaser.
Computer and mobile connections
N includes USB Type B and gigabit Ethernet. The wireless adapter and its Wi-Fi/Direct functions are optional rather than included. Basic network AirPrint/Mopria can use the Ethernet-connected printer with suitable shared-LAN discovery. This print-only arrangement has no computer scanner.
Supplies and declared yields
The regional box list declares included black toner at 1,500 and each color at 1,000 average standard pages to ISO/IEC 19798. Replacement declarations are black 2,500/5,500 and color 1,000/2,400/4,300. US numbers include 106R03476/106R03480 black and 106R03473–106R03475 standard CMY; confirm regional compatibility. Four drums are declared at approximately 48,000 pages, and waste cartridge 108R01416 at 30,000, using the US brochure’s three-page A4/Letter job basis. No current cost per page is calculated.
Software and support
Compatible Xerox drivers provide job-type controls. Secure Print sets a passcode on the computer, then requires Print Menu > Personal & Secure, user selection and passcode entry using the printer arrow buttons before release. Personal Print explicitly has no passcode. The two-line button display is different from the WorkCentre touchscreen. No exact passcode length or optional storage requirement is invented; verify current drivers for the intended operating system.
Electrical edition and setup
Earlier N configuration with documented historical US availability. Verify the actual electrical label, maintenance condition and current computer drivers. The variant-specific body is 16.5 in wide, 19 deep and 13.7 high at 52.5 lb; allow operating access for covers, output and extended trays. The optional paper drawer changes the installed height and weight.
