Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can DN automatically print color Tabloid from at least 500 included sheets over Ethernet?
Yes with its compatible computer driver and permitted duplex stock. DN includes the duplex unit, and its 550-sheet drawer accepts Tabloid and can feed automatic two-sided jobs. The separate 100-sheet multipurpose path cannot feed that mode.
Explore this need in the finder →Can at least 600 loaded sheets feed an automatic two-sided A3 job without moving paper between the base inputs?
No in the documented automatic-duplex arrangement. The 650-sheet total includes a 100-sheet multipurpose tray that explicitly cannot feed automatic duplex. Only the included 550-sheet drawer supplies this mode; an additional supported feeder is optional.
Explore this need in the finder →Does a standard DN package include passcode-held printing for confidential jobs?
No. The original procedure requires a Xerox printer hard disk for four-digit Secure Print, and DN lists that disk as optional. A used unit may have the upgrade, but that must be verified rather than counted in the included configuration.
Explore this need in the finder →A large-format printer with an important paper-path limit
The Xerox Phaser 7300DN is an earlier print-only color LED printer for compatible computer workflows that need more than Letter-size output. DN includes Ethernet and an automatic duplex unit, making the exact configuration more useful for shared two-sided documents than an unexpanded N.
The deciding qualification is where paper enters. Its 550-sheet drawer can feed automatic two-sided jobs, while the 100-sheet multipurpose tray cannot. A 650-sheet included total is therefore useful for ordinary input planning, but does not mean that all 650 sheets can automatically duplex without moving paper.
Match the size and feed direction to the job
The documented ordinary paper routes include Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid. The guide places Letter and A4 long edge first in the drawer, with Legal, A3 and Tabloid short edge first. Set the actual size and type correctly at the printer and in the driver.
For automatic duplex, use the drawer and the permitted 75–105 gsm paper types. The guide also sets a minimum size and excludes envelopes, labels and other specialty stock from automatic duplex. Loading a supported specialty material in the multipurpose tray does not change that limitation.
DN's configuration extends to 12 x 18 inches. Some broader family advertising also discusses longer banners and configurations with extra feeders or storage. Those headlines should not be used to describe an ordinary DN package. Check the actual hardware on an existing machine, particularly when a photograph shows a tall stack of drawers.
Separate color speed from the selected mode
The original Features Guide explicitly associates Letter and A4 plain-paper Standard mode with up to 30 color or 37 monochrome pages per minute. It gives lower specialty-media rates and says the figures exclude image processing and data transfer.
Enhanced mode uses a different resolution declaration and a lower stated color rate. Automatic two-sided printing is also slower than the headline. These are manufacturer declarations, not measured throughput or a tested quality ranking.
The single-pass terminology in this family describes its color printing process. This machine has no document scanner, glass or original feeder. It cannot satisfy a scan requirement simply because the brochure mentions printing scanned pictures.
Verify storage before relying on confidential release
DN includes Ethernet, USB and a historical parallel interface. The original software supports PostScript and PCL workflows with model-specific drivers. A present installation still needs an actually compatible driver, with the proper source, media and binding settings.
Secure Print requires the Xerox hard disk and uses a four-digit password at release. The disk is optional on DN. That differs from DT and DX packages with included storage, and prevents the base DN from being treated as an included PIN-release printer.
The original network management features can report status and supply information. They do not establish native AirPrint, Mopria, an included wireless radio or present compatibility with every operating system. A current software requirement deserves its own exact confirmation.
Plan special media, supplies and space realistically
Envelopes use the multipurpose tray only, with a maximum of ten suitable paper envelopes. Print the front face and follow the model's loading diagram: usual envelopes and C4 have different flap instructions. Match the selected envelope size and source, and confirm orientation before a full job.
The printer has separate toner and imaging-unit considerations, plus a transfer unit and voltage-specific fuser. Its toner yields use five-percent coverage of an A-sized page. They should not become expected life for heavily covered large-format documents or a current ownership-cost estimate.
The body weighs 149 lb before optional feeders and needs operating clearance beyond its closed dimensions. The 83,000-page duty is a maximum, with no verified recurring monthly recommendation here. For documented wired large-format output, DN has a clear role; confidential release or more automatic-duplex input needs the relevant confirmed expansion.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
The original Features Guide explicitly rates one-sided Letter and A4 plain-paper Standard mode up to 30 color or 37 monochrome pages/min at 600 x 600 dpi. Enhanced mode uses 600 x 2400 dpi and declares up to 16 color pages/min. Specialty-paper rates differ. The figures exclude I/O and image processing, and automatic duplex is slower. The 83,000-page monthly duty is a maximum, with no established recommended recurring monthly volume in the reviewed sources. Single-pass in this print-only family describes the print engine, not document scanning.
Paper handling
DN includes a 550-sheet drawer and 100-sheet multipurpose tray, for 650 ordinary sheets. The original Support Guide specifies 75 gsm for the 550-sheet drawer. Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid are positively listed for both ordinary inputs, subject to the actual loading orientation and fill marks. Automatic duplex is standard on DN but only from the drawer, not the multipurpose tray. The duplex arrangement therefore records 550 sheets available to that paper path, with supported 75–105 gsm Plain, Letterhead or Special paper and A5-or-larger sizes. DN handles through 12 x 18 inches; the broader family’s banner/custom and extra-feeder package must not be assumed included. Envelopes use the multipurpose tray only, up to 10 suitable paper items, one-sided. Load the printable face up and follow the model’s separate usual-envelope and C4 flap diagrams; match the panel and compatible driver settings.
Scanning arrangement
This is a print-only color LED printer. It has no included scanner, copy glass, document feeder or fax. Reproducing an already scanned image and the phrase single-pass printing do not establish capture hardware.
Computer and mobile connections
The exact DN includes 10/100Base-TX Ethernet, USB and a historical bidirectional parallel interface. Compatible computer Ethernet and USB printing are modeled separately. B lacks the same network package, and N does not include DN’s duplex unit. Included Wi-Fi, native AirPrint and Mopria are unverified; Ethernet alone does not establish them. Check the actual compatible driver and model-specific settings for a present installation.
Supplies and declared yields
The US data sheet lists standard cyan 016-1973-00, magenta 016-1974-00, yellow 016-1975-00 and black 016-1976-00 at up to 7,500 pages. High replacements 016-1977-00 through 016-1980-00 are up to 15,000 each. These declarations use 5% coverage on an A-sized page, not an assigned ISO test or a verified included-toner yield. Separate color imaging units are listed up to 30,000; the transfer unit and voltage-specific fusers up to 80,000, with actual usage conditions affecting life. No current supply price or cost-per-page estimate is asserted.
Software and support
The original software listing includes Adobe PostScript 3 and PCL 5c emulation, with model-specific Windows and Macintosh procedures. Use the actual Phaser driver/PPD and set media, source and two-sided binding correctly. Secure Print uses a four-digit password and requires the Xerox hard disk; that disk is optional on DN, so the base plans do not qualify for included PIN release. DT/DX storage and paper packages are separate configurations. Old browser-management, online support and operating-system lists are historical documentation, not promises that every service or present operating system remains supported.
Electrical edition and setup
The original US/Canada data sheet and product information give a base body 26.22 inches wide, 24.65 deep and 18.11 high, at 149 lb. This excludes additional feeders and working access. Allow space for opened trays, output extensions, doors and service. The original information distinguishes 110–127 VAC from 220–240 VAC electrical editions; inspect the actual label. The assigned government list is Canadian, corrected in the source description, while the independently read US/Canada data sheet establishes the North American edition. This is an earlier 2002–2004 model reference, with no current stock or warranty claim.
