Phaser 7500DN (7500/DN)Illustrated overview
A useful fit for

Compatible computer users producing color documents and larger layouts through A3 and Tabloid with ordinary two-sided paper.

The main tradeoff

DN has no scanner, included Wi-Fi or standard hard disk for PIN-held jobs; heavier duplex stock needs careful source-specific verification.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can Ethernet print automatic two-sided Tabloid color documents with 600 included sheets for about 8,000 pages/month?

Yes. DN includes duplex and 600 nominal ordinary sheets across its main tray and MPT. Tabloid fits both sources and the documented ordinary duplex dimensions. Use the narrower 67–169 gsm guide routine; 8,000 pages is within the current US 10,000-page monthly headline.

Does a base USB-connected 7500DN include PIN-held print release?

No. The original guide requires the Productivity Kit for Secure Print, and that internal-disk kit is optional on DN. The four-digit release routine is documented for an equipped machine, not included in this base arrangement.

Can the standard DN hold 1,000 ordinary Legal sheets without an added feeder?

No. The included main tray and MPT total 600. A single additional 500-sheet feeder is an option, while DT includes one; an optional feeder cannot satisfy a standard-capacity requirement for DN.

A large-page color printer with two standard paper sources

The Xerox Phaser 7500DN combines color toner printing, automatic print duplex and wired computer connections in the lower-height 7500 configuration. Its 100-sheet multipurpose tray and 500-sheet main tray provide 600 nominal ordinary sheets. Both support Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid, making it useful when office documents share a printer with larger layouts.

The engine uses Xerox HiQ LED printheads. Although the product sits in the broad laser-printer category, its imaging light comes from LED arrays. It remains a print-only machine: there is no scanner, document feeder, copying or fax.

Decide whether 600 sheets are enough

The DN's included capacity differs from the 1,100-sheet DT and 2,100-sheet DX. The extra single 500-sheet feeder and the three-tray 1,500-sheet feeder are alternative assemblies; the original configuration material says they cannot be installed together.

The MPT's 100-sheet plain-paper count explicitly uses 20-pound Bond stock. A precise stock-weight basis for the full 600-sheet figure is unestablished. Heavy stock, labels, transparencies and envelopes have different stack limits, so the ordinary-sheet total should not become a universal media capacity.

The MPT accommodates much longer banner sheets, while the main tray has a smaller size range. For custom work, define the size in the application or driver and at the printer, then load the matching source. Do not assume that a size fitting the bypass also fits every drawer.

Use the narrower documented duplex routine

Automatic two-sided printing is standard on DN. The original guide specifies a leading edge of 128–322 mm, a side edge of 140–457 mm and a 67–169 gsm weight range. Ordinary Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid fit those dimensions.

A later US brochure lists duplex stock up to 220 gsm, which is broader than the guide. Until the exact stock and machine configuration are verified, the narrower ordinary-paper routine is the safer planning basis. Labels, envelopes, transparencies, thick card stock and die-cut media are excluded from the guide's duplex routine.

Preprinted and punched sheets also need the correct orientation. For long-edge feed in the main tray, the duplex first side faces down with its top toward the rear; the MPT uses a different face orientation. Match the loaded direction, paper type and binding choice in a compatible driver.

Ethernet and USB support different access patterns

USB uses a standard A/B cable for direct computer printing. Included Gigabit Ethernet supports a configured network and the embedded CentreWare Internet Services interface. The wireless network adapter is optional. A historical Mobile Express Driver entry describes computer software and does not establish native AirPrint or Mopria.

PostScript 3 and PCL 5c are documented, with 512 MB standard memory expandable to 2 GB. Verify a working driver for the actual operating system and installed options before adopting an earlier machine.

Confidential jobs need the optional Productivity Kit

Secure Print, proof and saved jobs require the Productivity Kit with its internal disk, which DN does not include. Ordinary RAM collation and general network security do not remove that requirement.

On an equipped machine, the supported driver assigns a four-digit passcode. At the panel, open Walk-Up Features, Walk-Up Printing and Secure Print Jobs, choose the user name, enter the code and select the job to print and delete. The separate Print With feature has an additional USB restriction; special job names should not all be treated as interchangeable workflows.

Check workload, supplies and physical access

The original guide declares up to 35 pages per minute on Letter plain paper in either color or monochrome. It separately lists 28 ppm for two-sided printing. These are manufacturer ratings, not measured output. The current US page shows up to 10,000 pages per month, separate from the brochure's 150,000-page peak duty figure.

US supplied toner is declared at 19,800 black and 9,600 pages for each color. Replacement high-capacity colors are 17,800 each under ISO/IEC 19798, with variable results by content, coverage and media. Drums, the waste cartridge and the voltage-specific fuser kit have separate maintenance identities and conditions.

The US 110 V DN is established by the original configuration list. Its guide gives a base body of 25.2 by 26.2 by 15.7 inches and 145.2 pounds, with the brochure rounding to 145 pounds. Allow additional loading, cover, output, ventilation and service space.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The original guide explicitly declares up to 35 pages/min in color or monochrome on Letter plain paper; its separate performance section gives 28 ppm for two-sided printing. Neither is a measured result. Current exact US monthly guidance is up to 10,000 pages; the brochure duty figure of 150,000 is separate and is not used as a sustained monthly recommendation.

Paper handling

DN includes automatic print duplex, a 100-sheet multipurpose tray and 500-sheet main tray: 600 nominal ordinary sheets supporting Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid. The MPT count is explicitly based on 20 lb Bond; a precise weight basis for the full 600-sheet count is unestablished. General simplex ranges are 67–280 gsm at the MPT and 67–256 gsm in main trays. The guide limits automatic duplex to 67–169 gsm, leading edge 128–322 mm and side edge 140–457 mm, covering those five ordinary sizes. A later brochure lists up to 220 gsm duplex; use the narrower routine until actual stock compatibility is verified. Envelopes and labels use MPT only, one-sided; envelopes max ten. The optional single 500-sheet and triple 1,500-sheet feeders cannot be installed together.

Scanning arrangement

A color LED print-only printer with no scanner, glass, ADF, copying or fax. Automatic print duplex is separate from document capture. A generic installer description naming scan drivers does not add scanner hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Rear USB 2.0 with an A/B computer cable and included 10/100/1000 Ethernet support compatible driver-based printing and duplex. The configured network provides CentreWare Internet Services; direct USB is a separate local connection. A wireless network adapter is optional, not built in. Native AirPrint/Mopria are unestablished, and Mobile Express is a computer driver rather than proof of a native mobile route.

Supplies and declared yields

The US box declaration includes black toner at 19,800 pages and CMY at 9,600 each. Replacement standard CMY are 106R01433/434/435 at 9,600; high-capacity black 106R01439 is 19,800 and CMY 106R01436/437/438 are 17,800 each, under ISO/IEC 19798 and variable image/coverage/media conditions. Imaging unit 108R00861 at 80,000 and waste cartridge 108R00865 at 20,000 have separate maintenance declarations. Fuser/belt-cleaner kit 115R00061 is the 110 V identity, distinct from 115R00062 for 220 V. No current supply price or stock promise.

Software and support

Standard memory is 512 MB, expandable to 2 GB; Adobe PostScript 3 and PCL 5c are documented. The optional Productivity Kit includes an internal 80 GB disk and is required for Secure Print, proof and saved jobs. DN does not include it, so normal base PIN release is false. With the kit and supported driver, Secure Print assigns a four-digit code and releases through Walk-Up Features, Walk-Up Printing, Secure Print Jobs and the user name, then Print and Delete or Delete. Print With jobs additionally exclude USB and AppleTalk.

Electrical edition and setup

Earlier US 7500/DN is explicitly 110 V in the original configuration list. The exact base-unit guide gives 25.2 by 26.2 by 15.7 inches and 145.2 lb; the US brochure rounds weight to 145 lb. These are machine-body figures, not an operating-clearance or carton promise. Verify the label, actual accessories, condition and suitable support surface, with space for paper loading, open covers, output and maintenance.
