The Xerox Phaser 7500DT is useful when a workgroup wants two ordinary paper drawers alongside a multipurpose tray. Its included 500-sheet feeder raises nominal input to 1,100 sheets: 500 in the main tray, 500 in the added drawer and 100 in the MPT. Automatic print duplex, USB and Gigabit Ethernet are included.
This is a color toner printer using HiQ LED printheads. The added feeder holds blank print paper; it is not a scanner's document feeder. DT does not scan, copy or fax, and the paper upgrade does not include wireless hardware or the optional hard disk used for confidential jobs.
Use the third source for the paper mix you actually print
All three included sources accommodate ordinary Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid within their documented size ranges. Separate drawers can reduce the need to exchange stock between routine jobs. Confirm the actual size and type at the panel, then select the corresponding source or matching paper properties in the driver.
The third drawer has a wider maximum custom size than the main tray, while the MPT handles long banners. These limits belong to their individual paths. A sheet fitting one source is not automatically supported in the others.
The 100-sheet MPT plain-paper count is explicitly based on 20-pound Bond stock; a precise basis for the entire 1,100-sheet headline is unestablished. Different media have lower stack limits. Envelopes use only the MPT, up to ten, and print on one side. Avoid windows, metal clasps, padding and unsupported adhesive construction.
The single 500-sheet feeder cannot be installed together with the three-tray 1,500-sheet assembly. Moving to that larger assembly replaces the smaller one; it does not add 1,500 to DT's existing 1,100 sheets. The family's 2,100-sheet maximum is a different installed arrangement.
Automatic duplex still depends on stock and orientation
The original guide specifies automatic two-sided sheets with a leading edge of 128–322 mm, side edge of 140–457 mm and weight of 67–169 gsm. Ordinary Letter, Legal, A4, A3 and Tabloid fit that range. Labels, envelopes, transparencies, thick card stock and die-cut media are excluded.
A later US brochure gives a broader duplex limit of 220 gsm. The narrower guide routine is used here until the exact stock and installed machine are verified. The guide also places separate restrictions on glossy media, so a general maximum-weight statement is not enough to promise every two-sided coated-paper job.
For long-edge-feed duplex in the drawers, the first side faces down with the top toward the rear. The MPT uses a different face orientation. Correct preprinted-paper loading and the driver's long-edge or short-edge binding choice matter as much as selecting two-sided output.
Check the computer driver and confidential-job equipment
Direct USB uses a standard A/B cable. Configured Ethernet serves networked computers and provides CentreWare Internet Services for status and settings. Wireless requires an optional adapter. A historical Mobile Express Driver listing does not establish native AirPrint or Mopria support.
The documented print languages are Adobe PostScript 3 and PCL 5c, with 512 MB memory expandable to 2 GB. Verify software support for the actual computer and installed options before relying on an earlier device.
Secure Print, proof and saved jobs require the optional Productivity Kit with its internal disk. On an equipped machine, assign a four-digit code in a supported driver, then choose Walk-Up Features, Walk-Up Printing, Secure Print Jobs and the user name at the panel. Enter the code and choose the job to print and delete. DT's paper drawer does not establish that storage capability.
Allow for workload, supplies and a heavier body
The original guide declares up to 35 one-sided Letter plain-paper pages per minute in color or monochrome, separately listing 28 ppm for two-sided printing. Current US guidance shows up to 10,000 pages/month. The brochure's 150,000-page duty figure is a separate peak limit, not a sustained monthly recommendation.
US supplied toner is declared at 19,800 black and 9,600 pages for each color. Replacement high-capacity colors are 17,800 each under ISO/IEC 19798. Drum, waste and voltage-specific fuser maintenance items have separate identities and conditions.
The original US list establishes the 110 V DT with its included feeder. The US brochure gives a 25.2 by 26.2 by 20.9 inch body at 174 pounds. Check the actual label, paper hardware and condition, and leave room for loading, covers, output, ventilation and service.

Print-rate conditions
The original guide explicitly states up to 35 one-sided Letter plain-paper pages/min in color or monochrome; its separate performance table gives 28 ppm for two-sided printing. These are maker declarations, not tests. The current exact US page gives up to 10,000 pages/month, kept separate from the 150,000-page brochure peak duty figure. No recommended monthly minimum is established.

Scanning arrangement
A print-only color LED machine with no scanner, glass, ADF, copying or fax. The extra paper feeder feeds blank print stock, not original documents. Automatic print duplex does not establish document scanning.
Computer and mobile connections
Included rear USB 2.0 with an A/B cable and 10/100/1000 Ethernet support compatible computer printing and automatic duplex. Ethernet needs a configured network and provides CentreWare Internet Services. Wireless needs an optional adapter. Native AirPrint/Mopria are unestablished; the historical Mobile Express Driver is computer software and does not establish a phone-native printing arrangement.
Supplies and declared yields
US supplied black toner is declared at 19,800 pages and each CMY at 9,600. Standard replacement colors 106R01433/434/435 are 9,600 each; high-capacity black 106R01439 is 19,800 and CMY 106R01436/437/438 are 17,800 each under ISO/IEC 19798, varying with content, coverage and media. Imaging unit 108R00861 at 80,000 and waste cartridge 108R00865 at 20,000 have separate maintenance conditions. The 110 V fuser/belt-cleaner kit is 115R00061, distinct from 220 V 115R00062. Verify exact regional supply compatibility without assuming current stock or price.
Software and support
Standard 512 MB memory expands to 2 GB, with Adobe PostScript 3 and PCL 5c. The internal 80 GB Productivity Kit is optional on DT and required for Secure Print, proof and saved jobs; the included additional paper tray does not include that kit. Base PIN release is false. With the kit and supported driver, assign a four-digit code and release at Walk-Up Features, Walk-Up Printing, Secure Print Jobs, user name and Print and Delete. Print With jobs separately exclude USB and AppleTalk.
Electrical edition and setup
Earlier exact US 7500/DT is explicitly 110 V and includes the single 500-sheet feeder in the original configuration list. The US brochure gives the DT body as 25.2 by 26.2 by 20.9 inches and 174 lb, distinct from the shorter DN and taller DX. These are machine figures, not carton or working-clearance guarantees; precise consumable-weight basis is unestablished. Verify actual label, feeder, condition and load-bearing support, with extra loading, cover, output, service and ventilation access.
