Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a wired monochrome team print Legal on both sides, hold jobs for a code and load 700 sheets for 20,000-page months?
Yes, using a compatible computer driver over Ethernet. The included main tray and bypass both accept Legal, totaling 700 ordinary sheets at 75 gsm, and the guide explicitly supports Legal duplex. Secure Print holds the job for its passcode. The recommended monthly maximum is 25,000; the larger duty figure is separate.
Explore this need in the finder →Can a supported Android device use Mopria when the printer is connected to Ethernet?
Yes, through the documented shared network and compatible Mopria Print Service. The phone may use that network’s Wi-Fi while the printer uses Ethernet. A Wi-Fi radio on the printer is an optional addition, and mobile controls are distinct from the full computer driver.
Explore this need in the finder →Does this B600/DN scan and copy a stack of originals as well as print?
No. The exact B600 table identifies a print-only device and marks scanning and fax as not applicable. The B605 scanner and its automatic document feeder are hardware on a different model, despite appearing in the same family brochure.

The Xerox VersaLink B600/DN fits a wired team producing black-and-white documents, particularly when 700 included input sheets and passcode release matter more than scanning. It supports automatic two-sided Letter, Legal and A4 output through a compatible computer driver. Ethernet and a direct USB computer connection are included.
Its deciding limitation is the absence of a scanner. The B605 appears beside it in Xerox literature, but that model's feeder, copying and fax functions do not belong to the B600. Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct also require an optional adapter. Choose a documented multifunction model when capturing originals is part of the same workstation routine.
This is an earlier-model reference: the manufacturer identifies the B600/B610 family as no longer sold as new. Confirm the exact North American electrical edition, condition and software compatibility before relying on a particular unit.
The LED engine prints monochrome pages
Xerox's original brochure identifies a Hi-Q LED print head. This is a toner-based LED printer, and its five-inch color touchscreen does not turn its output into color printing. The screen provides controls and job access.
The US detailed specification declares up to 58 one-sided Letter pages per minute, separately from 55.5 A4 and 48.5 Legal. Automatic duplex has its own table: 52.2 Letter, 49.3 A4 and 27 Legal pages per minute. The family guide gives a different Letter duplex figure, so these quoted duplex numbers follow the exact US specification. They are manufacturer declarations rather than measured results.
For workload planning, the useful reference is recommended average monthly output up to 25,000 pages. The much larger 300,000-page duty declaration describes a different maximum and is not a recommendation to sustain that volume.
Keep the 700-sheet base separate from added drawers
The main tray holds 550 ordinary sheets and the bypass 150, totaling 700 at the specified 20 lb, 75 gsm basis. Both included paths accept Letter, Legal and A4. A separate 550-sheet drawer or high-capacity feeder changes the equipped machine and its footprint.
The optional 2,000-sheet feeder takes Letter or A4. It is not extra Legal capacity. Finishing, output mailboxes, the cabinet and additional storage are also separate options; a tall promotional configuration is not the base package.
For Legal in the main tray, extend the tray using its adjustment latch, set the guides and leave space in front. Confirm the actual size and type on the printer and in the driver. A closed-body depth measurement does not include this extended working arrangement.
Automatic duplex explicitly supports Letter, Legal and A4. Plain-paper duplex uses 60–90 gsm; selected other supported types extend to 176 gsm. A heavier sheet accepted for one-sided printing does not automatically qualify for the duplex path.
Use Secure Print for passcode release
In a compatible Xerox computer driver, open the printing properties, select Secure Print as the job type, enter a passcode and confirm it. Check the paper settings and send. At the printer, open Jobs, then Personal & Secure Jobs, choose your folder, enter the code and select the document to print. The guide says the secure job is deleted automatically after printing.
Personal Print serves a different purpose. It uses no passcode, and the guide allows any user to print or delete its jobs. A user-named folder therefore does not establish confidential release.
The original specification includes Secure Print. Its optional-hard-drive condition applies to a separately marked disk-overwrite function, so do not confuse that storage option with the ordinary documented passcode workflow.
Wired networking can still serve mobile devices
AirPrint and Mopria are documented for supported mobile devices using the appropriate shared network. The printer can use Ethernet while a phone uses the office network's Wi-Fi. This arrangement does not install a wireless radio in the printer.
AirPrint depends on enabled IPP and Bonjour services and suitable network discovery. Mopria needs a compatible print service and reachable printer. An administrator may need to address discovery across network boundaries. The available controls depend on the mobile application; do not assume it reproduces every computer-driver duplex, envelope or Secure Print setting.
Plan envelopes, consumables and installation access
Envelopes print one side. For No.10 envelopes in the bypass, follow the original short-edge-first loading diagram with flaps down and to the right. Select the matching Envelope size/type and driver orientation. The bypass envelope limit is a stack-height instruction, with an approximate count varying by stock, rather than its 150-sheet ordinary-paper rating.
The US specification declares a supplied 10,300-page black cartridge. Replacement cartridges have separate standard, high and extra-high yields under ISO/IEC 19752; the drum's approximate maintenance life uses different conditions. Regional cartridge numbers can differ, so verify the exact US supply list.
The US unpackaged base table gives 16.8 by 18.3 by 17.5 inches and 49.2 lb. Allow additional room for the extended Legal tray, open bypass, service covers, cables and ventilation, plus any separately installed accessory.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
US detailed specifications declare one-sided monochrome printing up to 58 Letter, 55.5 A4 and 48.5 Legal pages/min, separately from automatic duplex at 52.2 Letter, 49.3 A4 and 27 Legal. The later family guide instead lists duplex Letter 56; use the exact US detailed table for the quoted duplex rate. The inherited international evaluator headline of 55 is not a Letter measurement. Recommended average monthly output is up to 25,000, not a minimum. The 300,000 duty figure is a nonsustained maximum, not the recommended routine. No measured-speed claim.
Paper handling
The included main tray holds 550 and the bypass 150 ordinary sheets, totaling 700 at 20 lb, 75 gsm. The original guide explicitly supports Letter, Legal and A4 in both included paths and automatic duplex. Plain-paper duplex uses 60–90 gsm; selected other duplex types reach 176 gsm. Extend the main tray for Legal with its adjustment latch and allow front clearance. Additional 550-sheet drawers, a 2,000-sheet feeder, finisher, mailbox and cabinet are optional. The high-capacity feeder accepts Letter/A4 only. Envelopes print one side. For No.10 in the bypass, load short edge first with flaps down and right; select Envelope size/type and correct driver orientation. Bypass envelope stack height is 16.5 mm, approximately 10–20 depending on stock. The separate main-tray instruction allows up to 50 envelopes at 45 mm stack height; neither figure is ordinary-paper capacity.
Scanning arrangement
The exact B600 table is print only, with scanning and fax marked not applicable. There is no glass, feeder, copying or color scanner. The adjacent B605 single-pass feeder and scan functions belong to a different model. A color touchscreen and application-gallery name do not add scanner hardware.
Computer and mobile connections
Included USB3 computer connection and Gigabit Ethernet. The guide permits a compatible USB2/USB3 Type B cable and computer driver; the front flash-drive port serves a separate direct-print routine. Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct require optional wireless adapter 497K16750 and are excluded from the base plans. NFC tap-to-pair is not a Wi-Fi radio. AirPrint and Mopria use their documented shared-network arrangements with the printer on Ethernet; these are separate from direct USB computer printing.
Supplies and declared yields
The original supplied US black cartridge is declared at 10,300 pages. US replacement 106R03940 is 10,300, 106R03942 is 25,900 and 106R03944 is 46,700 standard pages under ISO/IEC 19752, with actual yield depending on image, coverage and print mode. Drum 101R00582 is approximately 60,000 pages under different job-length, media and speed conditions. Regional page codes 03941/43/45 are not substituted for the US list. No live cost-per-page or used-unit remaining-life claim.
Software and support
Secure Print is included with a compatible computer driver. In Windows Printer Properties or Mac Xerox Features, choose Job Type, Secure Print, enter and confirm the passcode, then send. At Home, Jobs, Personal & Secure Jobs, open your folder, enter the code and select the job. It is automatically deleted after printing. Personal Print has no passcode and allows any user to print or delete its jobs. The optional HDD condition on Immediate Disk Overwrite does not make Secure Print optional. AirPrint needs enabled IPP/Bonjour and appropriate network discovery. Mopria needs its compatible print service and shared network. Native mobile paper-specific duplex, envelope and PIN controls are not borrowed from full computer drivers. Historical app/cloud listings do not guarantee current services or current OS support.
Electrical edition and setup
The exact B600DN maker configuration identifies 110 V; US detailed specifications independently list North America 110–127 V versus Europe 220–240 V. Verify the physical rating label. The current exact manufacturer family notice says no longer sold as new. The US table labels the unpackaged base body 16.8 x 18.3 x 17.5 inches and 49.2 lb. The family guide lists 17.3 inches in height; the larger exact US table value is retained. Packaged 61.6 lb is not body weight. Allow the extended Legal drawer, open bypass, covers, cables and ventilation. Optional HDD capacity varies by document revision and is not an included-storage promise.
