WorkCentre 3315/DNIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible configured Windows workflow needing ordinary Legal feeder capture, two-sided printed output and up to 4,000 recommended monthly pages.

The main tradeoff

It lacks automatic two-sided original scanning, base PIN release requires an upgrade, and 3325 wireless or server-scan features do not belong to this configuration.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can the Ethernet arrangement capture ordinary color Legal feeder pages and print two-sided Legal with 300 included sheets at a 4,000-page monthly requirement?

Yes with the compatible Windows driver and configured Easy Printer Manager Network PC destination. Legal fits the ordinary feeder and both included paper inputs; automatic print duplex explicitly supports it. The 2015 detailed sheet recommends up to 4,000 monthly pages. Analog fax, if used, has its separate telephone-line setup.

Can a USB computer use Letter glass capture while printing two-sided A4 from the base input?

Yes with the actual compatible Windows scanner driver, Easy Printer Manager Local PC setup and print driver. The original glass instructions explicitly allow Letter or A4, and A4 is supported by the included input and automatic duplex unit. USB computer capture is distinct from inserting a memory stick.

Does DN automatically capture both sides of Legal originals through its feeder?

No. The exact original table says 3315 has no two-sided document scanning; 3325 uses the reversing feeder. DN’s included automatic duplex concerns printed output. A generic ADF Duplex setting in the shared software instructions cannot add that missing feeder mechanism.

3315/DN suits one-sided capture and two-sided output

The Xerox WorkCentre 3315/DN is an earlier monochrome laser multifunction printer with color scanning, included automatic print duplex and a 50-sheet original feeder. It fits a compatible wired computer workflow that captures ordinary loose documents and prints double-sided office output.

The distinction from 3325 matters. The original 3315 table explicitly excludes automatic two-sided document scanning. DN's duplex function concerns printed output; it does not turn its ordinary feeder into the reversing feeder used by the neighboring model.

Configure the computer destination before scanning

The feeder accepts originals through Legal, within its documented size and weight limits. The glass instructions positively cover Letter and A4. Legal feeder handling should not be carried over to a full Legal-size glass scan.

For the confirmed Windows workflows, install the compatible scanner software and Xerox Easy Printer Manager. Its advanced settings enable Scan from Device Panel and identify image type, scan size, file format and the destination folder. A file must actually arrive at that destination to complete the computer-capture routine.

USB uses Local PC, with the documented local installation and cable connection. Ethernet uses Network PC, with its configured destination and any required credentials. The front memory-device port serves a separate walk-up routine; inserting a flash drive is not the same computer connection.

The shared guide also discusses SMB/FTP server scanning and internal-drive folders. Its exact configuration table assigns those functions to 3325, rather than 3315. Similarly, a generic software option called ADF Duplex cannot provide a feeder mechanism absent from this model.

Keep the 300-sheet base separate from expansion

A 250-sheet drawer and 50-sheet bypass provide 300 ordinary sheets. The detailed sheet bases capacity on 75 gsm stock, while the user guide describes the same counts at 80 gsm. Observe the actual paper and fill marks instead of assuming equal capacity for heavier media.

Letter, Legal and A4 fit the ordinary inputs and are explicitly listed for automatic print duplex with permitted stock. Choose the actual paper size, type and two-sided binding in the compatible driver. The optional 520-sheet drawer produces the larger 820-sheet total and is not included in the base capacity.

The original feeder's 50 pages and output tray's 150 sheets are different counts. Planning a print run around either would confuse original capture with the paper available for output.

Confidential printing has an upgrade condition

3315 Secure Print requires the optional memory upgrade and enabled RAM Disk. The standard configuration therefore does not provide the same included held-job arrangement as models with the necessary storage already fitted.

A general security list, Secure Fax or an administrator password does not remove that condition. If an existing unit has been upgraded, verify its installed memory, enabled settings and compatible driver before relying on passcode release.

USB and Ethernet are the documented wired interfaces. The nearby 3325DNI's wireless capability should not be assigned to 3315/DN, and the historical Mobile Express computer driver does not establish native AirPrint or Mopria. Check actual software compatibility for a present installation.

Use the recommended workload and instructed envelope path

The Letter-size brochure declares up to 33 one-sided Letter pages per minute; the detailed regional sheet separately gives 31 A4 and a lower two-sided A4 rate. These are manufacturer declarations, not measured performance for a particular document.

The June 2015 detailed specification recommends up to 4,000 monthly pages, distinct from the 50,000-page maximum duty. Toner declarations also distinguish the supplied 2,300-page cartridge from the 5,000-page high replacement. Neither duty nor toner yield establishes current running cost.

Suitable envelopes use the bypass, short edge first with flaps down and the rear door open for the instructed routine. Match paper settings and allow space beyond the closed body. For ordinary color capture and automatic monochrome print duplex, 3315/DN has a clear role; automatic two-sided originals or included PIN release needs another confirmed arrangement.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The original Letter-size brochure and exact US row identify up to 33 Letter pages/min; the detailed regional sheet explicitly rates one-sided A4 at 31 pages/min and two-sided A4 at 15. These are manufacturer declarations, not measured job throughput. The June 2015 detailed sheet recommends up to 4,000 monthly pages for 3315, distinct from its 50,000-page maximum duty and the adjacent 3325’s different figures. An older broad overview found during discovery gives another monthly recommendation; this record uses the later, exact 2015 specification and retains its date. Maximum scanner resolution and color input rates do not establish color printing or a physical optical-resolution figure.

Paper handling

Included input is a 250-sheet Tray 1 plus 50-sheet bypass, totaling 300 ordinary sheets. The 2015 sheet bases capacities on 75 gsm; the original guide describes those same counts at 80 gsm, so follow the actual stock and fill lines. Letter, Legal and A4 fit both ordinary inputs and are explicitly listed for the built-in automatic duplex unit, with supported 60–120 gsm types in the guide. The optional 520-sheet second tray is not included in the 300-sheet base; 820 is an expansion total. The 50-original feeder and 150-sheet output are different quantities. Suitable envelopes use the bypass, up to five in the guide, short edge first with flaps down. Leave the rear door open for that instructed print routine, and match the panel and compatible driver size/type/source settings.

Scanning arrangement

3315 has a standard 50-sheet ordinary automatic document feeder, with originals through 216 x 356 mm including Letter, Legal and A4. Its source-specific range is 142 x 148 mm minimum and the detailed sheet permits 60–105 gsm stock. The guide explicitly says 3315 does not scan documents automatically on both sides, while 3325 uses a reversing feeder. Its glass positively supports Letter and A4 in the original loading procedure; Legal belongs to the feeder and is not assigned to the glass. Color scanning is supported, despite monochrome printing. The Windows computer capture plans use the actual installed scanner driver and Easy Printer Manager setup for their selected USB or Ethernet arrangement.

Computer and mobile connections

The exact DN has USB 2 computer printing and 10/100Base-T Ethernet, separate from the front memory-device port. The confirmed computer scan arrangements are USB Local PC and Ethernet Network PC. Install the compatible Windows Easy Printer Manager, enable Scan from Device Panel, choose image type, size, Save To and file format, and retrieve the file at that configured destination. The local USB installation has a specific Typical/local setup condition. General family instructions for SMB/FTP server scanning and internal-drive folders apply to 3325, not 3315. No wireless plan is inferred from a nearby 3325DNI. Native AirPrint and Mopria are unverified; the old Mobile Express PC driver is not either native protocol.

Supplies and declared yields

The detailed sheet lists a supplied WorkCentre 3315 print cartridge at 2,300 standard pages. Standard replacement 106R02309 is also 2,300, while high replacement 106R02311 is 5,000, under ISO/IEC 19752 with coverage and print-mode conditions. Do not substitute the 3325/3320’s 5,000-page supplied or 11,000-page high cartridges into the 3315 record. These are dated manufacturer declarations; check the exact region and compatible cartridge marking on an actual unit. No current price, remaining cartridge life or ownership-cost estimate is asserted.

Software and support

The original print listing includes PCL and PostScript emulations with compatible model-specific driver settings. For 3315, Secure Print requires the optional 256 MB memory upgrade and enabled RAM Disk. Its base package therefore does not qualify for included PIN release. A general family security list, the Secure Fax feature and an administrator login do not change that storage condition. The documented Windows scan application must actually be installed and configured, including the destination and any required credentials. Dated driver and operating-system lists do not guarantee all present releases or services.

Electrical edition and setup

The 3315 body is 424 x 422 x 417 mm at 14.37 kg in the detailed table, approximately 16.70 x 16.62 x 16.42 inches and 31.68 lb after conversion. The separate carton is 569 x 551 x 535 mm and 18.2 kg; those are not desk-fit measurements. Allow working access, extended paper paths and rear-door space beyond the body. The assigned US 3315/DN configuration expressly specifies 110 V, corroborated by the manufacturer safety sheet’s 110–127 VAC edition; the regional detailed sheet’s 220–240 VAC entry describes another electrical version. Inspect the label. Analog fax is included but requires a compatible functioning telephone line and setup. This is an earlier 2012-era model reference, not a current offer.
