Your needs, this model
Does it fit your priorities?
Can a compatible USB computer scan two-sided color Legal originals, retain a Legal glass option and automatically print Legal with 700 sheets included?
Yes. The guide confirms USB computer scanning, Legal glass and feeder originals, automatic two-sided capture and Legal print duplex. The normal 550-plus-150 paper setup totals 700 sheets. Included fax additionally needs the specified separate analog line; confirm the compatible software and document stock.
Explore this need in the finder →Can an iPhone print through an office network when the printer uses Ethernet and has no optional wireless adapter?
Yes with the documented native AirPrint feature and a suitable shared network connecting the phone to the Ethernet printer. That does not make Wi-Fi standard inside the printer. App-specific duplex, PIN and scan functions are not promised by this basic mobile-print arrangement.
Explore this need in the finder →Does its confirmed automatic two-sided feeder satisfy an essential single-pass Legal scanning requirement?
No such mechanism is established in the reviewed original material. The supported automatic-duplex route handles Legal, but duplex capability alone cannot prove both sides are captured in one pass. Compare a separately documented single-pass model for that essential requirement.
Explore this need in the finder →A useful distinction for Legal originals
The Xerox WorkCentre 3615/DN is an earlier monochrome laser multifunction printer whose Legal-size glass is as relevant as its document feeder. It supports printing, color scanning, copying and analog fax, with USB and Ethernet computer arrangements documented separately.
That combination suits an office handling both loose forms and originals that should remain on the glass. Unlike a machine whose longer scanning specification applies only to its feeder, the 3615 explicitly accepts Legal originals on either path. Its color scanner does not make its printed output color.
Choose the original path before the scan destination
The standard duplex automatic document feeder holds up to 60 suitable originals. The guide specifies loose sheets, adjusted guides and the appropriate weight range, with a higher minimum weight for two-sided originals. Use the glass for books, fragile sheets or other originals unsuitable for feeding.
Automatic two-sided scanning is documented, including its control-panel setting. The reviewed sources do not establish the physical method as single-pass capture. That distinction matters when both sides in one pass is an essential requirement rather than simply a preference for avoiding manual sheet turning.
For a directly attached computer, the guide describes Express Scan Manager and a chosen destination folder. USB TWAIN and WIA scanning are also listed. Install software compatible with the actual computer; a dated driver list is not a guarantee for every present operating system.
Over Ethernet, a shared-folder workflow requires a real destination, appropriate access permissions and the address-book entry and credentials used by the printer. A successful print connection alone does not configure the scan destination. A front USB memory port provides another file routine, but it is separate from the rear computer connection.
Standard paper capacity is substantial, with clear expansion limits
The included main drawer holds 550 ordinary sheets and the multipurpose path holds 150, totaling 700. Letter, Legal and A4 are supported in those paths. The 2,350-sheet headline requires three additional feeders; it is not the standard package.
Automatic two-sided printing supports Letter, Legal and A4 with the specified stock. Select the paper size, type and duplex setting in the compatible driver. Legal paper also requires the extended drawer arrangement, which protrudes from the machine. Allow room for that rather than treating the closed body depth as a complete footprint.
Envelopes use the bypass and one-sided printing. Choose Envelope as the type and follow the size-specific loading diagram. Number 10 envelopes load differently from some other formats, so a generic instruction copied from another Xerox model would be a poor substitute for this guide.
Keep optional wireless and included security separate
USB and Gigabit Ethernet are standard. The wireless networking adapter is optional. A printer connected by Ethernet can still serve AirPrint on a suitable shared office network, so a phone-printing need does not automatically require a radio inside this model.
Mopria appears in the brochure with an optional Wireless Print Solutions Adapter. It should not be treated as a confirmed native base feature. Likewise, a historical cloud-service name does not establish that the service remains operational.
Secure Print is more concrete: a compatible computer job is held until its assigned passcode is entered at the device. Secure Fax Receive is a different function. Included analog fax still requires its own configured telephone line; neither Ethernet nor USB replaces that connection.
Compare routine workload and upkeep honestly
Xerox declares up to 47 one-sided Letter pages per minute and 45 A4, with lower separate two-sided figures in the guide. The 110,000-page monthly duty is explicitly a maximum, not a sustainable workload recommendation. No recommended monthly ceiling is established here.
The US brochure distinguishes toner from the separate drum and gives different yield bases. Actual coverage and job patterns matter, and an earlier unit's remaining consumable life needs inspection.
For Legal glass capture, ordinary automatic duplex scanning and a configured wired workflow, the 3615/DN has a useful documented scope. If built-in Wi-Fi, native Mopria or confirmed single-pass scanning is essential, compare a model that explicitly provides that exact arrangement.

Paper, software and setup details
Print-rate conditions
Xerox declares up to 47 one-sided Letter pages/min and 45 A4 pages/min. The original guide separately lists 28 Letter and 27 A4 pages/min for two-sided printing. These are manufacturer ratings, not measured throughput. The 110,000-page monthly figure is a maximum duty that the brochure explicitly says is not for sustained regular use; no recommended monthly maximum is established in the reviewed sources.
Paper handling
Included input is a 550-sheet main drawer plus a 150-sheet multipurpose/bypass tray, totaling 700 ordinary sheets. Letter, Legal and A4 are explicitly supported in all trays. Exact automatic-duplex paper includes those three sizes at the guide’s supported 60–163 gsm stock range. The higher 2,350-sheet maximum requires three separately purchased 550-sheet feeders. The 60-sheet original feeder and 250-sheet output tray are different capacities. Legal paper requires extending the drawer, which protrudes from the body. Envelopes print from the bypass only, one-sided, with the proper Envelope type and size settings. Follow the size-specific diagram: Number 10 uses short-edge entry, flaps down/right; C5 and smaller formats have their own instructions. Do not transfer another model’s envelope orientation.
Scanning arrangement
Both the glass and the standard 60-sheet duplex automatic document feeder explicitly accept originals through 8.5 x 14 inches, including Letter, Legal and A4. Use the glass for books, delicate or unsuitable originals. Feeder originals must be suitable loose sheets, face up/top first, with guides adjusted. The guide specifies 50–125 gsm for one-sided originals and 60–125 gsm for two-sided originals. Automatic two-sided color capture is confirmed; the reviewed original sections do not establish whether the mechanism reverses sheets or captures both sides in one pass. The route is recorded as automatic duplex of unspecified mechanism, with no single-pass qualification.
Computer and mobile connections
Standard connections are USB 2 computer and Gigabit Ethernet. The separate front USB host port accepts compatible memory devices and is not the computer cable socket. Wi-Fi requires the optional 097S04409 adapter. A compatible USB computer can receive scans using Express Scan Manager, TWAIN or WIA. A network computer can receive scans through a configured SMB shared folder or the documented network scanning software. Folder permissions, address-book destination and credentials must work. AirPrint is a standard supported network-printing route on a suitable shared network; the printer itself need not have its optional radio. Mopria appears with an optional Wireless Print Solutions Adapter, so native base Mopria support remains unestablished.
Supplies and declared yields
The US brochure lists a 5,900-page supplied toner cartridge and replacements 106R02720 at 5,900 pages, 106R02722 at 14,100 and 106R02731 at 25,300 under ISO/IEC 19752. The separate 113R00773 drum is declared at approximately 68,000 pages on an average three-page A4/Letter job basis. Coverage, media and job patterns affect yields; no current price, remaining life or cost per page is asserted.
Software and support
Secure Print holds a compatible driver job until its assigned 1–12 digit passcode is entered at the control panel. This is distinct from Secure Fax Receive, which concerns incoming fax documents. Use compatible model-specific print/scan software and verify the actual operating system; historical driver lists are not a present compatibility guarantee. The brochure’s retired cloud-service listing is not used as a currently working workflow. The minimal AirPrint plan does not borrow desktop-driver PIN, duplex settings or a USB scan route.
Electrical edition and setup
This is an earlier US-edition reference with separately documented 110–127 VAC and 220–240 VAC versions; inspect the actual rating label. The body is 19.5 x 19.4 inches, with a 21.6-inch height in the brochure and 21.7 in the original guide. The larger guide height is retained for the body-limit field; neither includes all working clearance or an extended Legal tray. Weight is 47.4 lb. Fax is included, but uses its own configured analog phone line rather than the USB or Ethernet cable. Optional stand and feeders add size and weight.
