WorkCentre 6015/NIIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

Compatible computer setups needing ordinary color documents, small one-sided scan batches and standalone copying or telephone-line fax.

The main tradeoff

Print duplex is manual; full Legal scanning uses the ADF rather than the smaller glass, and automatic feeder duplex is unestablished.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can a configured Wi-Fi setup scan Legal color originals through an ADF and print Legal color with at least 150 included sheets?

Yes. NI has built-in Wi-Fi, and the documented network shared-folder workflow supports computer scanning after permissions and the address-book destination are configured. Its 15-sheet one-sided ADF supports Legal, while the standard main and bypass provide 160 nominal ordinary Legal sheets for printing.

Can a compatible USB setup combine A4 color glass scans, copying and fax?

Yes. The glass supports A4, USB scanning uses the driver and Express Scan Manager, and standalone copying is included. Fax additionally needs the dedicated operating telephone line at the RJ11 Line port and the configured country/fax header; it is not sent over the USB computer cable.

Can an Ethernet setup scan a full Legal original on the flatbed?

No. The glass is limited to 216 by 297 mm, covering Letter and A4. The longer Legal original is supported through the ADF, which cannot substitute when the flatbed itself is essential.

The NI adds wireless multifunction work in a compact body

The Xerox WorkCentre 6015/NI combines color LED toner printing, color scanning, copying and configured analog fax. Its included Wi-Fi distinguishes it from the wired 6015N and USB-only 6015B, while a 15-sheet ADF helps with small batches of loose originals. USB and 10/100 Ethernet are also documented computer connections.

The main tradeoffs are manual print duplex and different limits for the glass and feeder. Full Legal originals fit the ADF, while the glass accommodates Letter and A4. An automatic two-sided feeder routine is unestablished in the read material, so select a model with that routine explicitly documented if it is essential.

Choose the scanner route that fits the original

The glass accepts originals up to 216 by 297 mm. It suits single pages, books and items unsuitable for the feeder. Place the original face down at the indicated corner. Its length does not cover a complete 14-inch Legal sheet.

The ADF accepts originals 148–216 mm wide and 210–355.6 mm long, covering ordinary Letter, Legal and A4. Its specified weight range is 60–105 gsm. Load loose sheets face up, top first, align the guides and stay below the MAX line. The fifteen-sheet original capacity is separate from the blank paper supply.

The brochure quotes scanning up to 1200 by 1200 dpi, while the original standard-feature table states 600 by 600. Those different declarations should not become an assumed higher optical resolution or a claim of a particular interpolation method.

USB scanning and network scanning need different setup

For USB computer scanning, install suitable scan software and start Express Scan Manager. Choose its destination folder, load the glass or ADF, then select Scan to Computer (USB) on the panel. The original manual also describes importing from the glass or feeder into compatible applications through the USB scan driver.

On an Ethernet or Wi-Fi network, configure the computer's shared folder, permissions and address-book destination before selecting Scan to Network. The original setup chapter says wireless provides the same network services as the wired connection. It uses a router or access point with the correct network name and security settings.

The front USB memory socket offers a separate scan-to-flash routine. It is not the rear USB computer connection. Built-in Wi-Fi also does not establish Wi-Fi Direct, AirPrint or Mopria. Check actual software and network-protocol compatibility for the intended computer.

Manage the small print sources and manual second pass

The standard 150-sheet main tray and ten-sheet bypass provide 160 nominal ordinary sheets together, supporting Letter, Legal and A4. A precise stock-weight basis for that count is unestablished. The general media range is 60–163 gsm with type restrictions, and bypass paper is used before the main supply.

Match stock, size and type at the panel and in the driver. For the documented manual two-sided routine, the machine prints the even pages in reverse order first. Reload them in the main tray without rotating or flipping, leaving the unprinted sides up, then press OK for the odd pages. The operator's handling is essential; there is no automatic print duplex.

Supported envelopes use either main or bypass and print on one side. Follow the format-specific flap directions and matching envelope settings. Avoid windows, metal clasps, padding and unsupported self-stick construction, and do not borrow the ordinary-paper stack count for envelopes.

Keep standalone copying and telephone fax distinct

Copying works from the glass or ADF with the original-size restrictions. Analog fax additionally requires the dedicated operating telephone line connected to the rear RJ11 Line port, plus the configured country code and fax header. It is not a function carried over Ethernet, Wi-Fi or the computer's USB cable.

The wireless setup PIN and administration password also serve different purposes from confidential print-job release. A PIN-held printing workflow is unestablished, despite the presence of general configuration and security controls.

Check US supplies, workload and working space

The US brochure declares up to 12 color and 15 monochrome Letter/A4 print pages per minute. Those are manufacturer one-sided declarations, separate from scanning and first-copy times. Its 30,000-page duty figure is explicitly a maximum for one month, not a sustained recommended monthly volume.

US replacement black 106R01630 is declared at 2,000 standard pages and colors 106R01627, 106R01628 and 106R01629 at 1,000 each. Supplied black and color cartridges are 500 each under the brochure's ISO/IEC 19798 declaration. The other combined regional brochure lists different cartridge codes.

The US listing identifies 6015/NI as 110 V. The exact N/NI manual gives a 16.1 by 15.3 by 13.3 inch body at 33.4 pounds, compared with the brochure's rounded 33 pounds. Verify the actual label and condition, and leave extra room for the feeder, cover, trays, output, ventilation and maintenance.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

The exact US brochure shows up to 12 color and 15 monochrome pages/min beside the 8.5 x 11 in./A4 icon. These are manufacturer one-sided print declarations, separate from first-copy, first-page and scan rates, not measured results or ISO/IEC 24734 throughput. The 30,000-page duty figure is explicitly a maximum expected in one month, not sustained recommended monthly output; a recommended range is unestablished.

Paper handling

NI includes a 150-sheet main tray and 10-sheet bypass, nominally 160 ordinary sheets together, with no precise stock-weight basis established for that capacity. Both support ordinary Letter, Legal and A4 with the 60–163 gsm type restrictions. The bypass paper is used before the main supply. All two-sided printing is manual: the documented driver routine prints even pages in reverse first, then the user reloads without rotating or flipping, with unprinted sides up, and presses OK for odd pages. Supported paper envelopes use either main or bypass, one-sided, with format-specific flap/loading directions and matching control-panel and driver settings.

Scanning arrangement

The NI includes a 15-sheet ADF and color scanner. The ADF supports ordinary Letter, Legal and A4 originals within 148–216 mm width, 210–355.6 mm length and 60–105 gsm; load face up, top first, below MAX. The glass supports Letter/A4 up to 216 by 297 mm and does not accommodate full Legal. Automatic two-sided feeder scanning and its mechanism are unestablished, so only the documented one-sided feeder route is used. The brochure quotes up to 1200 by 1200 dpi while the original standard-feature table states 600 by 600; no higher optical resolution or unverified interpolation mechanism is inferred.

Computer and mobile connections

NI includes rear USB 2.0 Type B, wired 10/100 Ethernet and internal Wi-Fi. Wireless connects through a correctly configured router/access point and provides the documented network services; this is not a Wi-Fi Direct promise. USB computer scanning needs appropriate drivers and Express Scan Manager. Wired or wireless network scanning needs the actual shared folder, permissions and address-book destination, or an appropriately configured server. Front USB memory scanning is a separate routine from the rear computer connection. Native AirPrint/Mopria and current OS compatibility are unestablished.

Supplies and declared yields

US replacement black 106R01630 is declared at 2,000 standard pages; cyan/magenta/yellow 106R01627/628/629 are 1,000 each, and supplied black/color cartridges are 500 each. The brochure states ISO/IEC 19798 and variable yield with image, area coverage and print mode. The preserved combined regional brochure lists different 106R01634/631/632/633 identities. Use the exact US consumable compatibility rather than substituting the other edition. No measured yield, live price, stock or current old-service entitlement is promised.

Software and support

The US print language is host-based with 128 MB standard memory. For USB scanning, choose the destination in Express Scan Manager and select Scan to Computer (USB) at the panel; the original driver also offers glass/feeder acquisition into compatible applications. For network scanning, create a shared computer folder and configure its address, login and permissions in CentreWare Internet Services or Address Book Editor. Check current network/OS protocol compatibility. WPS setup PIN and an administrator password do not establish PIN-held print release, which is unestablished.

Electrical edition and setup

Earlier US 6015/NI, explicitly identified as 110 V by the original US configuration list; verify the machine label. The original exact N/NI physical table gives a 16.1 by 15.3 by 13.3 in. body and 33.4 lb, compared with the US brochure's rounded 33 lb; the table is used for displayed weight. A precise consumable-weight basis is unestablished. Allow additional ADF, cover, output, tray, service and ventilation access. Standalone copying and analog fax coexist with the selected computer route, but fax requires the configured dedicated telephone line at the rear RJ11 Line port and the country/fax header; it is not carried by Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
