Xerox WorkCentre 6655/X: Legal glass scans and 700 included input sheets review

The US exact X table declares ordinary one-sided color and monochrome printing up to 36 Letter pages/min, 35 A4 and 29 Legal. The original guide separately declares automatic two-sided Letter 24 and A4 23 pages/min. Scan input rates of 54 monochrome or 29 color Letter images/min, and their duplex figures, are different measurements. Recommended regular monthly volume is up to 10,000; the 100,000 duty declaration is explicitly a nonsustained maximum. No measured-speed claim.

Included main drawer 550 and bypass 150 total 700 ordinary sheets at the original US 20 lb, 75 gsm capacity basis. Letter, Legal and A4 fit both and are explicitly in the guide standard-size table. Automatic duplex supports those ordinary sizes within its 148–215.9 mm width and 210–355.6 mm length range, with the listed 60–163 gsm types and weights. The broad one-sided media ranges do not extend that duplex limit. Optional extra 550-sheet drawer raises a separately equipped total to 1,250; stand is also optional. Envelopes use the bypass and print one side only. For long-edge flaps, load short edge first, flaps down and right. Nonadhesive short-edge flaps: print side up, flaps open/down, bottom edge first. Adhesive short-edge flaps: print side up, flaps closed/down, flap edge first. Match panel size/type/color and driver orientation, rotating the image if needed. No envelope stack count established.

The 60-sheet duplex automatic document feeder and the actual 8.5 x 14 inch glass support Letter, Legal and A4. Automatic two-sided original capture is positive, but reversing versus single-pass physical method is unestablished; use the explicitly unspecified duplex route, never a single-pass claim. The US specification capacity basis is 75 gsm; the original guide gives approximately 60 at 80 gsm, a separate condition. Feeder weights are 50–125 gsm for one-sided and 60–125 gsm for two-sided originals. Load loose pages face up, first page on top/top edge first, set guides and stay below MAX. Place fragile or bound originals face down at the upper-left glass corner. Optical 600 x 600 differs from interpolated TWAIN resolution.

Included Gigabit Ethernet and USB Type B computer printing. Wireless networking requires optional adapter 497K11500 and is excluded from the base plans. Network scanning uses a configured file repository/template or enabled printer mailbox retrieved through CentreWare Internet Services. For a repository, confirm SMB services, reachable address, shared directory, read/write account and appropriate permissions. Select Workflow Scanning, template group and template, then Output Color, original sides, original type and file name. A working print queue alone does not configure a scan destination. USB flash storage and optional Scan to PC Desktop software do not establish direct scanning to a USB-connected computer; that route remains unknown.

Original supplied toner is declared at 6,000 black and 3,000 each cyan, magenta and yellow. US replacements are black 106R02747 at 12,000 and cyan 106R02744, magenta 106R02745 and yellow 106R02746 at 7,500 each, under ISO/IEC 19798 conditions. Imaging kit 108R01121 up to 60,000, waste cartridge 108R01124 up to 30,000, transfer kit 108R01122 and fusers up to 100,000 have approximate maintenance-life conditions. US 110 V fuser 115R00088 differs from 220 V 115R00089. The international inherited brochure lists toner 2752–55, not the US retail codes. Staple cartridge 108R00823 belongs to the offline convenience stapler. No current price, cost per page or used-unit remaining-life claim.

Secure Print is included for compatible computer drivers. Choose Printing Options, Job Type, Secure Print, enter and confirm a 4–10 digit passcode, then send. At Job Status, open Secure Print Jobs or My Secure Jobs, select its folder, enter the passcode, select the job and Release. Timed deletion can remove uncollected jobs. Sample Set and Hold All Jobs have different purposes; optional badge systems are separate. Native AirPrint and Mopria are documented for supported devices through the appropriate shared office network. An Ethernet-connected printer can serve the wireless side of that network; optional printer Wi-Fi is not included. Native mobile controls do not borrow computer scanner, paper-specific duplex, envelope or PIN settings. Historical cloud/software and security listings are not promises of current service availability, current patch status or present OS compatibility.

US detailed specifications explicitly identify the X configuration and North American 110–127 V edition; original service product-code table corroborates sold 6655_X 110 V versus 6655V_X 220 V. Verify the physical rating label and actual software revision. Included embedded fax needs its enabled, configured telephone line at the Line port; original guide does not support VoIP examples such as FIOS/DSL. Server, Internet and LAN fax require their own arrangements, and the generic optional LAN Fax Kit statement is not used as a guaranteed computer fax path. The included 20-sheet convenience stapler is offline, not automatic finishing. Unpackaged base body is 21.2 x 21.8 x 24.6 inches and 82.9 lb. Allow open glass/feeder, trays, service doors, cables and ventilation. Current US manufacturer shop explicitly says discontinued.
