E310dwIllustrated overview
A useful fit for

A compatible modest document routine needing shared-network printing and US duplex within the recommended 250–1000 monthly pages.

The main tradeoff

No scanner, copy or fax. US duplex permissions differ from EU A4; single-client Direct does not inherit all network mobile protocols.

Your needs, this model

Does it fit your priorities?

Can US E310dw combine ordinary Wi-Fi, Mopria, Legal automatic duplex and 900 monthly pages?

Yes, using the documented network, compatible device and US paper conditions. The recommended monthly maximum is 1000 pages.

Can the EU A4 automatic-duplex permission be used for the US edition?

No. The original manual distinguishes the US Letter/Legal/Folio arrangement from EU A4.

Does the associated software hub establish computer scanning?

No. E310dw has no scanner hardware.

A low-profile monochrome printer when scanning is unnecessary

The Dell E310dw is an earlier single-function laser printer with automatic two-sided output and included USB, Ethernet and Wi-Fi. Its practical appeal is a low printer body and a 250-sheet ordinary cassette without the height of a scanner or document feeder.

Choose it as a document-output device. A software hub, mobile connection or related multifunction model does not add scanning, copying or fax to this hardware. The E515dw changes that document-job combination rather than merely changing a suffix.

US and EU automatic-duplex paper permissions differ

The original E310dw operating manual explicitly separates regions: the US automatic-duplex arrangement names Letter, Legal and Folio, while the EU arrangement names A4. The driver procedure also gives the paper and binding conditions for automatically printing the reverse side.

We therefore qualify Letter and Legal automatic duplex for the documented US edition, without importing the EU A4 permission. A4 one-sided output is still supported. The brochure's broader media row should not override that explicit regional distinction, and envelopes use the separate hand-feed routine rather than automatic duplex.

The ordinary cassette is a real stack; the manual slot is one sheet

The cassette holds 250 ordinary sheets. A separate hand-feed path accepts an individual sheet for instructed special-media use. We use 250 for bulk-input matching rather than describing the single-sheet slot as another ordinary paper drawer.

Legal paper support does not mean every envelope, label or heavier sheet uses the same path or paper setting. Match the actual type, size and loading instructions. The 100-sheet output capacity is also separate from input capacity and does not increase how much blank paper can be loaded.

Network mobile printing is distinct from a Direct connection

Ordinary Ethernet and Wi-Fi network arrangements support the documented native AirPrint and Mopria options when the device and printer are on the appropriate reachable network. USB is a separate computer connection and should not inherit those network protocols.

The exact brochure also describes Wi-Fi Direct concurrency, limited to one Direct-connected device. A compatible peer-printing route does not establish every native protocol in that mode. If a specific phone-printing feature is essential, use the network arrangement for which that feature is documented rather than treating all wireless modes as identical.

Use the modest monthly recommendation and separate speed measures

Dell recommends 250–1,000 pages per month, distinct from the 10,000-page maximum duty cycle. The recommendation is used for regular-workload matching. A larger maximum should not make the printer appear confirmed for routine 5,000-page months.

The one-sided declaration is 27ppm Letter or 26ppm A4. Original documents give different duplex figures, and the operating manual notes that wireless printing can be slower. Those statements are not our timing results or a promise about full application-job completion. PCL6 and XPS driver support should also not be expanded into a borrowed PostScript claim.

Check installation access and current support

The documented body measures 14×14.2×7.3 inches and weighs 12.8lb with consumables, distinct from its shipping carton. Allow extra room for the cassette, manual feed, paper, cables, ventilation and servicing. The reviewed US edition uses 110–120V; check the actual label and offered configuration.

The original 700-page starter, 1,200-page ordinary and 2,600-page high-yield toner declarations do not establish remaining supplies or current page cost. Confirm compatible consumables and the actual current driver before choosing an older machine. The E310dw fits when monochrome network output and its supported US duplex routine are enough; select a multifunction model when originals also need to be scanned.

Paper, software and setup details

Print-rate conditions

Declared one-sided output is 27 ppm Letter and 26 ppm A4. Brochure and manual Letter duplex rates differ. The actual guide separates US Letter/Legal/Folio from EU A4 automatic duplex.

Paper handling

The ordinary cassette holds 250 sheets; manual feeding is individual. US automatic duplex covers eligible Letter/Legal/Folio stock. The EU A4 permission is not transferred. Envelopes use manual feeding.

Scanning arrangement

Single-function monochrome laser printer without scanner, feeder, copy or fax hardware.

Computer and mobile connections

Computer USB 2.0, 10/100 Ethernet and ordinary Wi-Fi are standard. Direct supports one client. AirPrint/Mopria use the supported shared-network plans, without transferring them to USB or Direct.

Supplies and declared yields

The original separates 700-page starter, 1200/2600 toner and 12000-page imaging-drum declarations. Printer-life fuser wording is not unlimited-use or remaining-life evidence.

Software and support

PCL6/XPS drivers and 32 MB memory are documented. The E515 family’s PostScript claim is not borrowed. Check current drivers, device settings and any historical cloud-service references.

Electrical edition and setup

The US 120 V AC edition uses 110–120 V at 50/60 Hz. Body: 14 × 14.2 × 7.3 inches, 12.8 lb with consumables, distinct from the shipping carton. Allow paper and service access.
